tutto sommato piacevole soggiorno al Sokhamon
Due notti più un'altra notte. Soggiorno per motivi di lavoro. Abbastanza confortevoli le camere vista mare, con zanzariera, televisore e condizionatore rumoroso. Comunque in posizione strategica per sfuggire dallo smog e dal rumore della città. Piscina lunga e stretta con acqua di mare, comunque confortevole con vista diretta sul mare (meglio non affacciarsi e guardare sotto, direttamente sugli scogli, per l'immondizia varia che vi sosta). La colazione è veramente ridotta come varietà, ma tutto sommato accettabile.

Very Instagram friendly location with friendly staff and a lovely breakfast with an amazing view. Architecture is organic - but to hide sloppy construction, rooms are filthy with stained blankets, trickle of water in bath, stinky, and definitely use that mosquito net!

Great stay. It is a unique and beautiful property at the heart of the old city. Easy access to most of the tourist sites. The room is perhaps a bit sparse against the price, but you're paying for the art and a great view out over the ocean.

目の前は海で波音で目覚め、夜でも海をバックにプールで泳げる。日が沈むのも正面。それを見ながらの朝食や、美味しい夕食にカクテルまで満喫出来る。 スタッフは親切で感じが良く、出来る限りのことは対応してくれる。 近くには官庁等もあり、落ち着いていて安全な雰囲気。中心街も近く、歩いて行ける。 ホテルの水回りは悪くないが、朝トイレ以外の水が全て止まっていることは何回かあった。ホテルがあえて止めている様で、話すと20分後くらいには出る様にしてくれる。

prachtig bijzonder vormgegeven hotel. vriendelijk personeel, gastvrij, mooi uitzicht, goede service, 2 kleine minpuntjes, toilet was op een verhoging geplaatst waardoor men haast moest springen om erop of af te komen, en alles was frans georiënteerd wat voor een Engels georiënteerde Europeaan niet altijd makkelijk is. beperkt aantal personeelsleden in het restaurant sprak een klein mondje Engels. Receptionist sprak goed Engels

Incredible hotel. Amazing interior. Amazing restaurant overlooking the bay and beach. Very nice staff. One of the most amazing hotels I have been to.

Un hôtel avec une belle vue sur la mer et une architecture très originale. Prendre une chambre avec vue sur mer, les autres chambres donnant sur un patio qui peut s'avérer bruyant.Les équipements ne sont pas tout neufs mais on apprécie le calme de cet endroit, surtout pendant les jours de semaine. Le quartier du Plateau est très calme le week end car c'est un quartier d’administrations.Piscine permettant de faire des longueurs.

Simply unique
Fabulous, uniquely designed hotel, the product of one woman's 6 years of hard work sculpting the place by hand. The walls, furniture, rooms are all designed in an architectural style that's hard to define - Neo-tropical? Beaux-Arts Moroccan? I don't know, but it's all fabulous. The manager Isabelle is a wonderful host, the Cap-Verdean barmen Jean-Marc (I think that was his name) makes his own Bissap and Bouye, the views from the terrace and pool area are stunning. Unless you want some faceless corporate hotel, this is the best place to stay in Dakar.

L’hôtel est calme et très bien placé. Le personnel est disponible et accueillant. Il manque cependant des places de parking.

Prachtig hotel aan zee in Dakar
Je moet er van houden, maar prachtig over-the-top art deco hotel met schitterend zwembad en terras aan zee, vooral schitterend bij zonsondergang. Prima Libaees eten, maar rest keuken is minder. Neem wel een zeezicht kamer, is zeker extra geld waard tov patio kamer.

super emplacement, mais hotel très moyen
le grand plus de l'hôtel c'est sa situation face mer, superbe, et son personnel de salle. Par contre, l'hôtel est franchement trop bizarre, et le tour au détriment du confort. En ce qui me concerne, chambre coté rue, donnant sur une immense salle. Les fenêtres ne filtrent aucun bruit. Il suffit que quelqu'un parle pour être réveillé. Un essai qui ne se renouvellera pas en ce qui me concerne.

Terrible Value for Money
Hotel Sokhamon was hands-down the worst value for the money I've spent on a hotel. It had many great aspects, though! STAY FOR: The hotel is walking distance to Dakar center and has beautiful, unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean to Dakar's west. It's bar/restaurant was always lively before sunset. The design and architecture were the most unique I've seen in a hotel. The staff was very friendly. DON'T STAY FOR: It was nearly impossible to get an internet/WiFi connection inside or outside, and was slow when successful. The hotel is dusty, unkept, and empty; there were two other guests during our stay. After being harassed by mosquitoes for two nights, we asked for a mosquito net for the third night, which a friend had in his room - didn't happen. There's no concierge - the hotels.com page is inaccurate - and you'll have to find your own good time (without WiFi) and ask to use the hotel's phone. The hotels.com profile says that the airport shuttle is 10.000 CFA per person; we three paid 35.000 CFA. We booked a return with a taxi for 21.000 CFA. The hotel restaurant ran out of breakfast the first morning we stayed - we asked why our earlier arriving friend received a larger breakfast, were reluctantly served more items after our query, and noted that a later arriving couple left angrily because no breakfast remained for them. OVERALL: At nearly $200/night for a sea view room, we unreservedly recommend looking elsewhere for your accommodations in Dakar.

Their information regarding accommodation, pillow menu, prices of rooms and so on were different when we arrived. when I informed the concierge about that my order on Hotels.com and what I got was different he said that it was an issue between me and Hotels.com. They were not interested in correcting anything without additional payment.. The only good thing with this stay was the restaurant just beside the hotel, good food and an infinity pool

Great architecture, reliable quality
I stay at the Sokhamon every time I go to Dakar. Other hotels may be more luxurious or modern (eg Terrou-Bi) but the unique architecture, beautiful seaside location, and wonderful sitting areas keep me coming back. There's no better place to enjoy a drink outside as the sun sets over the ocean.

L'hôtel de la belle au bois dormant
Quel mauvais génie a jeté un sort d'assoupissement sur cet hôtel, magnifiquement situé. Adossé à un quartier résidentiel et ministériel, en contrebas de la corniche, face à l'océan. Sa piscine semble suspendue au dessus de la mer.Son architecture accumule les grands volumes pour les salles de réception. La décoration, kitch, qui évoque autant l'Afrique que l'Egypte ajoute au charme, indéniable de l'ensemble.Deux niveaux des chambres qui donnent sur l'océan disposent de loggias. Les chambres sont grandes, le mobilier fonctionnel (coffre, frigo) mais la penderie vous obligera a conserver votre valise ouverte. Le personnel est souriant, efficace, mais on sent que "l'ambiance n'y est pas". Séjour professionnel de 4 jours, j'ai aimé l'hôtel mais sa restauration est indigente. Le responsable m'a affirmé que la période du Ramadan en était la cause, et que les choses seraient différentes après. J'ai aimé cet hôtel, j'y reviendrai.

Très content de l'hotel mais moins de Hotels.com. En effet ma réservation était valable pour une chambre avec vue sur mer. Ce n'était pas ce qui avait été communiqué à l'hotel. Il aurait fallu que je paie un supplément pour avoir droit à la chambre qui était indiquée sur mon bon de réservation

For the business traveller this hotel is not at all suitable. Very pore Internet, terrible lighting in the rooms. Laundry service takes two days. Service at Resturant is friendly but extremely slow. Breakfast sometimes not ready until 0730. bathrooms in serious need of updating.
