The first room we were in had a pile of crumbs on the fold-out couch. The next room was clean but had no bedding for the fold-out. The breakfast was fine but nobody knew how to get the juice dispenser to work. The staff did their best to improve our stay by Moving our rooms and getting us the bedding we needed.

I stay there for 4 nights. I was initially placed directly opposite the laundry room therefore the washing of cloth and washing machine made too much noise so after 2 nights i asked if i could be move. 1 was moved to room 120. Whilst i spent my third night in room120 I felt some itchiness at night but thought nothing off it. On my 4th night i woke up after being bitten by something only to see a bed bug crawling on the bed. I picked it up with a tissue and took it to the gentleman at the front desk. At this point it was 4am and I quickly checked out. I am so unhappy about my situation.

Although housed in a clean enough building, this is an unfortunate specimen that LaQuinta should be ashamed to have carry their brand. Perhaps the manager should be reminded that they are no longer the RA at the community college frat house? The staff is ambivalent at best, coarse and inappropriate at worst. Our time was wasted while the desk attendant waxed poetic about MMA fighting, our requests that the room meet standard specifications were ignored by the same employee and the expectation that there should be coffee available in the room or at least on the breakfast bar was clearly an egregious sin in the mind of the individual in charge of such things. The guests bellowing drunkenly until the wee hours of the morning may not have been in the control of the hotel, but we will never know as there was certainly no attempt to curtail this activity. The housekeeping carts and staff that began their excellent imitation of a freight train making a sudden stop on rough tracks mere minutes after the revelry subsided, however, was in the control of the staff and therefore more frustrating. A hotel in Iowa with no blankets on the bed, no chair in the room, and no indication of “Iowa-nice” being a concept they’ve even heard of clearly should not be representing a major national brand and I hope for the sake of LaQuinta’s future financial security they are able to get it under control. In the meantime, please save yourself a headache and consider upgrading to Motel 6.

The staff was unpleasant and close to rude to some customers. When a few customers asked for more towels they were told they were out despite the hotel being nearly empty. There was an open sanitary pad found floating in the pool. We were told hey had no more blankets or extra pillows. The staff on duty appeared to have no clue as to what is going on or how to handle simple requests such as the described towels, blankets, or pillows.

For the price of the room, I wasnt surprised by the condition of it. Our shower had hair on the walls. There were only 2 bath towels in the room. The comforters are white, which were pretty, but they had stains on them. The lady who checked us in was extremely helpful and nice.

The hotel has a great location in a great area. However, the rooms were very worn down, the parking lot was hardly plowed - and the sidewalks were not shoveled. Since is snowed alot recently, this made it messy getting around the parking lot. Also, the breakfasts were not very good. The pancake maker wasn't working and the bacon was a clumped up mess.

The breakfast was not very well stocked. There was no sausage or bacon, the eggs were tasteless and dry, only one choice of packaged oatmeal, no bananas, as we sat in the seating area nobody came to check on the foods, granted the weather was horrible and not many people, but come on you can keep an eye on the food.

Decent stay for the price
The property itself is dated, but the room was clean, bed comfy, good water pressure for the shower. Breakfast left a lot to be desired but fortunately there was a Starbucks down the street.

Ok for a quick stay
Staff was great and very friendly. Room was pretty clean. There was no heat in the room. I checked in late and the room was cold and the heater didn’t turn on. So I just put warm socks and a sweatshirt on since it was late and went to bed. woke up freezing in the morning and decided to check out early. I noticed the lobby was cold and the front desk Gal was shivering when I got in, so maybe the whole building was having issues with heat . I stayed here twice in a week, it’s the halfway mark on my road trip. I left my pillow my first day and I called immediately after I checked out, and they said they would hold it for me until my second stay. When I got there for my second stay, they could not find the pillow. I understand it’s my fault for leaving it, but not sure why they told me they would keep it if they didn’t.

Would not recommend
We arrived and noticed the hotel appeared to be somewhat run down - but decided to stick it out. We got to our room and there was scratches on the door frame as if it had been forced open at some point. We pulled the pullout bed from the couch for the kids, there was trash all over the sheets and they had obviously not been changed from the last stay. I went to the front desk and requested fresh sheets…. When I pulled the soiled sheet off the bed the mattress had several deep stains on it. As I was gathering my children up to leave the room to get something to eat we found an exposed razor blade on the counter with a trace amount of white substance on it. At that point we decided we were not going to stay - my husband went to the front desk to explain the situation as I gathered our kids and stuff out to the car. The front desk employee was polite and understanding of the situation and checked us out with no issue - and told my husband she would cancel our reservation and issue a refund. She did offer an explanation for the razor blade and stated that there maintenance man had been doing some re- caulking in the room. We left and got a different hotel for the night - this morning we woke up and had charges for our stay at this hotel that was supposed to be canceled/refunded.
