I have stayed in countless hotels all over the world and this has been one of the worst experiences.
This hotel was a huge disappointment in a charming little French town bordering Switzerland. People working at the reception were welcoming and friendly, but, here are the things that annoyed me the most in my 2 night stay:
- The room was dirty
- There isn't a do not disturb sign so housekeeping was knocking on my door every day around 8AM (I could have slept a couple of hours since my appointments were walking distance and a couple of hundred meters away from the hotel)
- The room was too hot for comfort - the plastic fan they had helped a little though
- The wifi signal in my room (the last one on the third floor and away from the wifi extender) was really weak, deeming almost impossible to use
- There isn't a rubbish bin in the room, just inside the toilet
- The shower room was disgusting with mould and dirt all over the place, not to mention hairs and even insects
- Noise from other rooms can be easily heard
- My room looked dated and in desperate need of a renovation
- The elevator went up to the second floor so if you're on the 3rd, you have to carry your bags up another flight of stairs
- There is a mini-fridge which was probably turned off for ages. It was smelly and mouldy and in over 35 degrees heat, one could find it useful to have some water cooling down in it but it was impossible to use. Either keep it clean and useful or just remove it from the room
