Positives: the staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The activities staff were great, fun and engaging. Room was great and cleaned daily. More than enough sun loungers, hotel provides towels and the spa is really nice.
Things to note: we have stayed in Rixos hotels before, this one does not feel that it is quite there yet. Restaurant food lacked variety from day to day. It was however good. The two restaurants that were part of the all inclusive (Rasa and Mr Tailor) were okay but nothing to write home about. Small portions, limited choices. There was no evening entertainment, no where to enjoy the evenings. There was one small bar in a makeshift van at the end of the resort near the kids club which didn’t remain open past midnight. If you wanted to take drinks to your room you couldn’t as security didn’t allow it. The other big thing for us, was the amount of children. We know this is not an adult only hotel however, from the marketing we assumed that we would have a high end, luxury, all inclusive experience. This did not happen throughout the day and evenings with the amount of running, screaming, shouting children. I’m not sure what the solutions are to resolve this but had we known that this hotel caters primarily for large families, we would have chosen a different hotel in Doha.
To conclude, this is not a terrible hotel. But it did not meet the expectations we expect from the Rixos brand.
