The Crown is in the center of the lovely coastal town of Emsworth, within walking distance of multiple local shops, beautiful churches and buildings, excellent local restaurants, and natural sites including the shoreline and local forests. The pub at the Crown is superb, very cozy and friendly, and features regular live music.

A tad expensive as no breakfast of any sort is available. If like me you are an early to bed type then avoid Wednesday night as its Open Mic Night and can be noisy.

Great location, poorly decorated and heated rooms. Good staff but value not great. Avoid if alternatives.

It waa base for sleeping at as we were out all day and evening with friends. We eat at the Crown the first night, the food was good.

The staff we're very friendly and helpful . The whole place needs attention cleaning was poor our room never got serviced the whole place needs a good clean and tidy up . Our shower was dirty and water pressure was not good .

Very disappointed.
The room was dirty, empty toilet rolls under the bed, curtain falling down, carpet hadn't seen a Hoover since the invention of Dyson, windows where filthy, had a standard lamp but nowhere to plug it in, then the shower had no hot water then there was no hot water at all, also couldn't read the code on the key fob to get into accommodation, had to take picture on phone then zoom in,

Not ideal! But clean!
We were very disappointed with the room as it was very basic and the furniture, carpets etc were very tired but clean! There was dampness on the wall behind the toilet system and the bedroom door looked as if it was a temporary replacement as didn't fit the frame and had gaps all around! There was live music the night we stayed which was very loud in our room even though two floors up, when this eventually stopped we were then kept awake by drunk people shouting and singing up and down the street! Plus other guests returning and walking along the landing! Not a romantic getaway!! Emsworth itself by day is lovely with great harbour to explore! HVe stayed in fantastic places with breakfast for the same price!!!

We've booked family EnSuite . There was only one stool inside so that we have to sit in the bed . There is nothing you can hold on when you finish the bath from the bath tub .One night the fire alarm sounded at midnight for 30 minutes ！ Anyway,the location is very convenient and we can have biscuits every day in the room ·

Pretty, traditional pub with fantastic live music. The band was one of the best I've ever seen! Also, located about 5 minutes walk from Emsworth train station.

Needless let down
Water supplying the shower and hot tap in kings room trickled or didn't give a constant flow. My wife had a cold shower and mine wás warm. Bath impossible to fill with hot water. Shame. The staff were very polite and couldn't be more helpful. We didnt complain as we just wanted to get on with our evening. Water system let everything else down.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed at.
My wife and I stayed three nights during the Festival of Speed. The location was very convenient, and the price acceptable. Unfortunately, the hotel was dirty, noisy and no service at all. We couldn't even buy breakfast. The worst hotel we've ever stayed in - we would not want to stay again.

Clean and convenient.
Easy check in and pleasant welcome. Shared bathroom was expected is I'd read up about the hotel before visiting. Would i stay for a week ? Probably not but for what i needed (arrive 8.30pm depart 7.30am) it was a clean and comfortable stay.

Great, friendly and very professional staff including housekeeping team. Lovely food, great breakfasts!!!!. Was visiting Stansted Park for two concerts, Ildivo and Sir Tom Jones. Unfortunately Sir Tom concert cancelled at short notice for health reasons, but the Landlord made up for our disappointment by playing Toms greatest Hits, for the remainder of the evening. Thank you Paul. Special bonding moment. Just like a bridge over troubled waters...…... Hope to comeback to your lovely place soon, see all the great staff, and maybe meet Art. Robbie and Russian delight.

It was nice to be close to the harbour.
The hotel didn't really function as a hotel more like a pub with bedrooms. Breakfasts were not included and was jolly expensive. Even an extra piece of toast was charged. We got the impression that they didn't really want to do food. The hotel closed at 4.00pm on Sunday so we had to let ourselves in. Very strange.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast. Only downside was shared bathroom on room we had & could hear guests in rooms next to us but for the money we paid can't really complain - good value & lovely location

Mediocre and expensive
Staff were nice and the place is interesting, but we were on the top floor and the hot water didn't work. We paid £139 an breakfast was not included which does not seem like value for money

If you want squeaky clean, I’m sure there’s a Premier Inn up the road. If you want character and characters (Paul the manager’s a diamond), stay here. Staff all friendly welcoming. Mind your head tall people - 16th Century beams!

You have to be fit & very active.
We were surprised to find we had to share a bathroom, something we haven't done in a hotel since 1983. The website says it is arranged over 3 floors so that wasn't a surprise. However, we did expect some sort of lift. We had to climb 35 stairs to our room on the top floor. We are a couple in our 70s with an elderly dog. The climb nearly killed us! The room was cramped with very little space to put anything. The single glazed windows were filthy at the top.There was a socket behind the dressing table where the tiny kettle was plugged in. Every time we picked up the kettle the base slid down onto the floor. The room was serviced twice in the 3 mornings we stayed. No one made our beds or replaced the tea & coffee on one day but that could have been because of the incident with the local police presence on the landing.Breakfast is not included in the price. We have stayed at cheaper places that did provide breakfast. The meals at The Crown are good but rather expensive. The one good point is that it is dog friendly, (apart from the stairs).

Perfectly located hotel in the middle of a lovely town. The bedroom was lovely and spacious but the en-suite was really small. Might have been a nice idea for the heating to have been switched on before arrival, our room felt like an ice box! Fortunately the heater was effective and the room soon warmed up.

Staying on New Year's Eve 2017.
The room was nice and clean. No complaints about the service. The New Year's Eve continued until 2:20 a.m. which meant that the noise did not die until 2:45 a.m.. We did though stay in the room beyond 11 a.m. the time of our check out. We have no problem in staying there again.
