“It exceeded our expectations. The hike to the look out was perfect for watching the solar eclipse . Our little guy even did the hike with us because it was gradual enough for him . We loved wading in the creek with my son. it was his first time seeing little fish , and frogs and all the fun stuff . 😀 Everything was beautiful and clean. I highly recommend. I loved the shower head that felt like rain drops so much too lol 😊”

“We rented all 4 cabins for a family gathering to view eclipse. Best equipped kitchens we've ever had through VRBO!! Host was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Plenty of wood provided for evening campfires and grilling on oak/mesquite coals was a real treat. Huge covered balconies were a real treat. River front is lovely and several enjoyed some fly fishing. Great for family gatherings in Texas Hill Country!”

“I did not like it personally because it was too remote for me. I knew that but I did think we would have access to some sort of TV or outlet. The heater in the bathroom did not work therefore, it was cold in that area.The movies supplied were as old as 1975 nothings current. It would be great for someone who likes to spend time in the wilderness.”

“We had an amazing and relaxing three nights here. The outdoor shower was great! We had a bit of a problem with the hot tub but the owner was there in 10 minutes to resolve the issue. No WiFi and the cell service is just good enough for email and texting. We brought DVDs but the cabin was equipped with about 20 of them. Games too! The fire pit was an extra bonus. We went into Fredericksburg a few times and it was only about a 15-20 minute drive. Overall, great place!”

“Perfect spot to stay while in Castell. Cabin was clean and well appointed, no issues with anything at all. Loved being able to sit out on the deck and star gaze at night. Very quiet and secluded just enough with an easy 20 minute drive to Llano. The only recommendation would be to provide wifi as cell phone service is a bit erratic in Castell. I’d obviously recommend this place as I have already booked it for next year!”

“Location was perfect, secluded but yet close enough. Great ride for motorcycles!! Cabin was nice but could have used a little more cleaning (toilet) and dusting. When we search for places to stay we select Texas Hill Country, cabin and hot tub so we were disappointed when we got there and found out the hot tub didn’t work. The place did make it right but because it was one of our 3 search criteria’s still disappointing. Thank you Chris and Nancy Montoya”

“Unfortunately, we were sick during our entire stay, so we never saw anything except the view from the cabin and one trip to a grocery store. The cabin was cute, and the listing does warn you there’s no WiFi. Hot water was iffy - we had it, but the first shower never got warmer than lukewarm if you wanted any water pressure, and then the second person had to wait before showering. We didn’t cook but the kitchen was very small (natural in a small cabin) and seemed to have just the basics in terms...

“This was such a nice place to stay, we'd definitely go back. It was nice waking to see the sunrise over enchanted rock and be greeted by a family of deer! It was difficult to find where our room was in the dark so having some solar lights or extra signage would be awesome.”
