Great value accommodation!
Attending a concert in HAC next door, the Marina Inn is a great value for money place. Our room was basically furnished but was spacious, clean with comfortable beds, microwave, fridge and a nice little welcome pack with goodies. We would be happy to stay here again if the need arose - highly recommended!

Don't bother, it's not worth it
No Wi-Fi, shower was dirty, water pressure was ridiculously low, iron needs replacing as it stuck to everything I tried to iron and I ended up giving up a brick would have done a better job, sink that small in the bathroom I couldn't fill the kettle so had to use cups to fill it, towel rack was half hanging off and rusty, cup holder was covered in rust, walls are that thin I could hear everything everyone else was doing in the hotel, beds were horrendous, towels need replacing as they were cover in bleach marks, we could hear the guests leaving the following morning as clear as day from the upstairs rooms. I do not recommend this place if you need a good night's sleep. Only thing that was good was the free little food and drink package if you liked and shared their page on Facebook which I can not do as I do not have Facebook.

Tämä ei ole hotelli
Majatalo on likainen, kalusteet ja suihku ovat huonossa kunnossa ja sisällä haisee homeelta. Etenkin kokolattiamatto, kaukosäädin ja suihku olivat todella likaisia. Äänieristystä ei juurikaan ole, joten äänet kadulta ja muista huoneista kuuluvat selvästi. Majatalossa ei ole henkilökuntaa. Sisään mennään koodilla. Saman kadun varrelta löytyy pari ravintolaa, baaria ja jäätelöbaari. Ympärillä on pieni kaupunki. Meidän matkamme aikana ihmisiä oli vain vähän liikkeellä. En suosittele tätä kenellekään.

The Hotel that was shut!!!
Booked via hotels.com but when we arrived there was no one in!!! Lights off, knocked on door, rang bell, tried mobile number stuck on door, called landline and then emailed the hotel direct and still 5 days later no response, if hotel want to advertise that they have rooms via booking websites at least have the decency to respond if there is an issue, so avoid.

Disappointing
Hotel is only a building with several rooms. There is no service other than the equipment in the room. Our room was on the main road and we had noise all the time. There was a water "roar" whenever anyone used water. A group of men travelling to Ireland and loading the complementary bus to the airport started banging, shouting and carting bags out from 6.30.I am afraid we will not stay there again.

No Room
This hotel double booked us, and did nothing to help us. Ended up sleeping in the car!! Without judging the place too much (bearing in mind we didn't actually get a room), it had all the impression of a cheap bedsit, where the landlord rents out the maximum amount of space to get the most money in. There wasn't even a reception desk, where you could have a face to face discussion with someone. Clearly they are untrustworthy, and should be removed from all booking sites in my opinion.

Misleading, not hotel more hostel
Mislead by description of hotel, no staff onsite, didnt see bar either. Late booking, no email from venue with a door code, booking had not been confirmed by them despite being 12 hours before hand. Left standing outside in rain with no way to access at 8pm. Office number rings our, first mobile says off duty, second no answer. Tried again - no booking received, given code access to upper door and told to enter. TV in room 5 tiny - lucky if 20". Room was clean, yet compact, curtains dont do much, and walls are thin - heard other rooms TV and others getting up during early morning (pre-7am). no mention of anything for breakfast or food. No soaps for shower, hand wash for sink. Highly recommend the Ship Inn next door for food, excellent. Experienced this once, Expedia very over priced for what it was, with a much lower price on wall outside

Adequate
The room was adequate but it was just a room and had a faint odor that reminded me of cat urine. Poor communication. The best part was our dinner at The Ships Inn 2 doors down. People are very friendly and helpful.

Very quiet and peaceful
Not in the centre of town, but very good if you have a car. Right next to an art centre and cafe, a pub, and the maritime museum. The owner/manager was very helpful, sending us a personal email with useful details as soon as we'd booked, and helping with other local questions once we'd arrived.

Sehr angenehmes Hotel
Das Hotel liegt für eine Anreise mit Pkw verkehrsgünstig, ist dennoch sehr ruhig. Die Zimmer sind passend eingerichtet und der Zugang per Code ist unkompliziert. Für den Abend ist eine sehr nette Gaststätte gleich nebenan, zum Frühstück orientiert man sich besser in Richtung Innenstadt oder versorgt sich selbst. Tee oder Kaffee kann man im Zimmer kochen.

Excellent location - kinda scary Inn
The location is great & that's all it has going for it. There are no staff on site. You have to call or email the owners, who are not very available to help. We had booked 2 rooms, and told ahead of time the room numbers. When we arrived, one room was open & one was locked. We had great difficulty reaching the owner, who wasn't going to come out, & told us to use an unlocked room on the same floor. The rooms are barely functional & dirty. The beds are terrible. No hooks & only one towel rack in a family suite bathroom. Dead silverfish & live bugs on the bathroom floor. Don't put your stuff down. On our first full day the cleaning person unplugged the fridge in one of our rooms. It thawed & soaked the carpet in the room. No one cleaned it up. Other guests in the Inn were a drunk man struggling to do up his pants when walking down the hallway, and a young couple with a baby. This young couple were smoking (non-smoking Inn but no one to ask for enforcement), fighting & screaming "f%$k you" all night while their baby screamed. They trashed their room and took off. The town of Irvine itself is amazing. A beautiful, small seaside location with a couple of excellent places to eat, stunning beach & sea side walking trails & views.

Booked last minute and checked in late, had to call number posted on the door to get it sorted, very friendly and helpful. Comfy warm room with nice views. Recommend the ship inn next door for a feed and drink. Puffin cafe down the road has a tasty breakfast and great views. Grocery store is just a 5 minute walk down the road.

Perfect for overnight before early check in at Prestwick airport. Room basic but comfortable enough with tea coffee biscuits for early breakfast in room. Ship in is very close and great for dinner:-) :-) steak pie yum yum:-)

Great value and comfortable
The hotel is conveniently close to the station, next to a nice pub, good value and comfortable. At that price bracket it's hard to fault other thab WiFi could have been faster. Given the self check in and out nature, the staff review is based on the cleaner who was very patient given how slow we were.

Early check-out at 10:00 AM!
After the fact, I noticed the early check-out time of 10:00 am, which is noted on the Expedia information page, if you expand it, and it is at the bottom of a fire safety sign on the wall of the room, but it doesn't leap out at you. You get an email from the place before your stay begins: look for it and keep it, as it contains a door combination lock code and the Internet code. Why a door combo? There is no one at the place: you let yourself in, and they tell you in the email what room you're in. Strange, yet more curious. The building is a couple of hundred years old, but very nice. My room, #10, had a view of the river and old ships. The top of the single window opens, but it shouldn't be counted on in the event of a fire. The sign says, leave through the front exit. Fine, if the fire isn't at the front exit. I guess the microwave goes through the window and me after it. Very, very nice large, flat-screen Samsung TV. Coffee maker, fridge (which is a bit noisy) and a microwave. Bathroom very nice, clean, although the water could have been hotter. A single pumper of hand soap. No shower wash, no shampoo. Location is terrific. If checkout was even 11 (or 12!), plus soap, I'd give 5 stars. Cleaner was unapologetic about checkout time. "I'm just an employee. What do you expect me to do?" "Tell someone."

not a hotel just some rooms
It is not really a hotel it is a hotel/ pub that has been changed into rooms it is ok and serves a purpose but one night would be enough . My first impression was poor , the carpet in Room 9 was badly stained due to the radiator having leaked and if my wife had been with me she would have made me turn round and walk out , but being on my own it was ok and the redt of the room was clean and tidy overall one night was enough , good pub just along the road made a difference .

Andy was very helpful when contacted by phone . I would however stress that your final e-mail to clients, (with last minute details) ,please be sure that entrance door keypad code number , along with room number is highlighted on the communication, as this was missing on the final e-mail I had received. and necessitated me having to use my mobile to contact Andy. The accommodation was very well appointed and comfortable. I would return now that I know fully the format for entry to property.. Thanks again for all assistance B.D.
