The room we booked was a family room with 2 beds and sleeps 3. The front desk did give us the exact room we booked when we checked in. However, the next day the lady asked for more money. She said that we only booked for a room that sleeps 1. They did not tell us when we checked in, and we felt maybe there is something wrong with the Orbitz booking system so we contacted the Orbitz customer service. The customer service took very long, the lady yelled us very rude that we had been sitting in the lobby for an hour and we either had to pay the extra money or leave the hotel. Wt*?! We booked the non-refundable 2 days stay. There was still one day left. We also did not say we were not gonna pay. We just wanted to figure out what happened because we clearly did book family room. This was the worst experience we had in our entire life at a hotel. We were 2 foreigner girls and don't speak turkish. We felt she was taking advantage of this and threatening us. We did end up paying the extra because orbitz refused to refund the one day stay if we decided to leave the hotel. Oh btw, we were asked to pay much more than the difference of the two rooms if booking online. We stayed in a few other hotels in Istanbul and their service was profesional and breakfast was much better. There were still hair in the bathroom and strong cigarette smell from bedding that embedded to my hair. Stay away from this hotel!

First of all, the situation did not develop as the guest explained. The guest reserved a single room, but two people checked in and wanted to stay for free for the second person. When we explained the situation, the person made fun of us and stated that he would never pay the difference. While making the reservation, he wanted to accommodate his friend, whom he brought with him, without paying, because the picture shows a twin room. he made a phone call for 2 hours in the lobby and could not make the reservation agency accept the situation and made an unfair comment because he was very angry about it. kept the reception busy for 2 hours. his own agency did not accept the situation and explained that his friend had to pay the difference. I think he got angry because he had to pay extra money and commented like that. but the truth is; If you stay two people in the room, you pay for two people.

Det har været en ren værelse, som er aller vigtigste for mig. Personale var hjælpsom. Det eneste der var irriterende var at man kunne høre alt fra nabo værelser, men tænker på det også er normalt da det er en gammel bygning. Placering er rigtigt godt sted hvis man vil se det vigtigste steder i Istanbul. Alt i alt har det været et godt ophold i 4dage.

Great little hotel
We were only booked for one night but would have been perfectly happy to stay for longer as it's a nice little hotel in an excellent location with helpful staff and a perfectly acceptable breakfast. Would definitely return.

Bedste sted at bo i Istanbul
Dejlig oplevelse. Bedste placering i hele Istanbul efter min mening. Kadiköy er en fantastisk bydel, og på dette hotel ligger man lige ned til vandet med mulighed for at tage færgen rundt som virker virkelig godt! Alt i alt god pris, fantastisk lokation, dejligt værelse og godt personale. Den gratise morgenmad er også fin, men ikke noget at råbe hurra over.

Das Hotel war Ansicht gut. Die Lage ist optimal um mit Fähren flexible von a nach b zu kommen. Sauberkeit der Zimmern insbesondere Badezimmern war erfreulich Sauber. Nur an der Freundlichkeit des Personal waren wir enttäuscht

We stayed at 3 different hotels on this trip and this was the best one. Excellent value. Breakfast was good. The view from the breakfast are was incredible. The room was small but clean and everything worked.

Das Sidonya Hotel hat eine super Lage und sehr gute Anbindung zum öffentlichen Nahverkehr (Busse, Metro und Fährstationen). Das Personal an der Rezeption ist freundlich, hilfsbereit und gut organisiert. Für uns wurde kurzfristig ein Taxi für den Transfer zum Flughafen geordert und es hat alles gut geklappt. Wir haben versehentlich eines der Gläser auf dem Zimmer zerbrochen und mussten es nicht einmal zahlen. Unser Zimmer hatte eine ausreichende Ausstattung und war gut klimatisiert. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Insgesamt können wir das Hotel weiterempfehlen und würden selbst auch wieder dieses Hotel wählen.

A comfortable & well-priced stay; poor wifi
A great stay overall, a comfortable spacious room, a sumptuous breakfast with a stunning view, a convenient central location. The wifi in my room, however, was quite week, could hardly use it on my laptop. Also, the reception person wasn't that helpful during the check-in: didn't provide any information about the wifi login and breakfast hours.

I have been sold room with king and twin beds but when I went to property, they don’t have any room with what is described at Expedia and they said information at Expedia is wrong. They also refused to refund.
