B&B a Kingsbridge

“We received a warm welcome from Ryan at his 'Community' pub, Ring o'Bells, West Alvington on the outskirts of Kingsbridge. The bedrooms are beside the carpark; access to them is via an open sturdy metal stairway which may be a challenge in adverse weather. The beds with en-suite facilities were clean and well-presented; we all enjoyed a good night's sleep without any distractions. The highlight of the Ring o'Bells is the spectacular Devon countryside overlooking the outskirts of Kingsbridge...

“A wonderful 5 night stay in the perfect location. Tim and Sheila were the ideal hosts; generous, kind and always ready to share their time and local knowledge to ensure we were able to get the best from our all too short stay. Everything provided, from the breakfast to the bedding was 1st class and added to the enjoyment of a very relaxing holiday. We hope to return soon.”

“Did not see any staff all weekend, key left in front porch with a note on arrival. Place felt ambandoned and un safe, had it not been height of summer season would have looked for alternative on night of arrival. Advertised details incorrect no restaurant or food available after 5 hour drive had to go out to find food. Plates and cultery left in room with very noisy fridge next to bed, expected to wash up in basin in bathroom. Farm in the middle of nowhere so no where to get food. Down stairs...

“Very quiet hamlet near the river Avon estuary as it discharges into the English channel so very pretty setting. Close to Burgh Island which I could just see the top of from my upstairs bedroom window. Very plain inside the pub; lovely friendly staff; had a main evening meal, not particularly good, very dry fish pie which had been microwaved to death and the following day all three of us had a dicky stomach and the runs. Streptococci no doubt. Over cooked poached eggs for breakfast but...
