The hotel itself was nice, clean, and quiet. No ocean view even on a high floor, but I was mostly there to crash at night and I slept very well on their beds. They did not have enough parking so I had to valet which was an additional charge.
My first morning there their security had to chase a homeless person out of the lobby just as I was leaving the lobby. I was only working 5 minutes from the hotel but chose to drive rather than be out there with a now very angry person. As I rounded the corner to leave I noticed them smoking meth out in the open on the corner. Two hours later I received a Citizen notice that a homeless person had assaulted someone with a hammer at the same intersection as the hotel. So no, the neighborhood doesn’t seem very safe. It’s not the hotel’s fault, but I’m glad my kid wasn’t with me and that I had a car.
