Ci tornei sicuramente
7 giorni vissuti all'aria aperta tra passeggiate e gite per l'isola ma con la certezza di tornare a godersi la propria camera ma soprattutto i servizi dell'hotel (vedi piscina interna ed esterna con relativa spa). Si parte con una splendida e ricca colazione consumata a bordo piscina e si finisce il tardo pomeriggio con un tuffo in piscina. Un posto ideale per staccare dalla vita di tutti i giorni e per ricaricare le batterie. Nonostante l'hotel sia del 2004 risulta accuratamente manutenuto e perfettamente pulito. Il personale è gentile, professionale e disponibile. L'organizzazione è perfetta.

Piacevole soggiorno
Per noi è stata una piacevole sorpresa Madeira e la città di Funchal. Albergo bello con vista sul mare, sul giardino ben tenuto e sulla piscina esterna. Personale cortese e preparato.

MADEIRA AND HIS PENTANA GRAND, WHAT A SURPRISE!
Posizione della struttura azzeccata, parco curatissimo con flora eccezionale; palme, cactus, fiori...Piscina d'acqua di mare in un parco di palme, piscina coperta con spa, bar fornitissimi, ambiente rilassato. Prima colazione per tutti i gusti (pantagruelica!#; camere spaziose, pulizia ineccepibile, personale ben disposto, vacanze serene. Abbiamo noleggiato un'auto per tutto il periodo: garage gratuito! Per coloro che non volessero impegnarsi nella guida sull'isola #peraltro su strade facilmente percorribili): frequente bus navetta gratuito da e per Funchal. In zona dell'hotel: ristoranti per tutti i gusti; da quello semplice sul mare alla pizzeria classica, alla rosticceria alle vere specialità di mare; anche un cinese in zona! Non fosse per il fatto che per l'accesso serale al ristorante dell'albergo ci si debba abbigliare con pantaloni lunghi e camicia (a luglio...) ci saremmo volentieri lasciati tentare. L'albergo è ottima base per le gite sull'isola; al rientro, piscina, bar, doccia, apero nella lounge e via a cena. Se il mondo non fosse così grande e non ci fosse così tanto da vedere ci si tornerebbe senz'altro!

Lussuoso hotel per famiglie
Provvedere alla sistemazione della griglia rumorosa presso il viale d'entrata. Con il getto d'acqua pulire l'entrata dell'autorimessa per togliere lo smog dal pavimento che altrimenti porti dappertutto.

Ottimo hotel per una vacanza rilassante
L'hotel si trova lungo il mare ed è dotato di piscine all'aperto e al coperto. Pur non essendo in posizione centrale è comunque comodo, perchè è ben servito dai mezzi pubblici, vicino ad un posteggio di taxi e ad un centro commerciale. Consente inoltre di percorrere una bella passeggiata che si snoda lungo il mare e offre una splendida vista sulla costa. Le camere sono spaziose, pulite, arredate a colori vivaci. Il personale è gentile e disponibile: abbiamo particolarmente apprezzato la colazione servitaci in camera alle 3,30 del mattino il giorno della nostra antelucana partenza. Molto graditi sono stati anche alcuni piccoli doni legati al periodo natalizio, fatti trovare nella stanza. Nel corso della settimana di Natale l'hotel ha organizzato alcuni piacevoli intrattenimenti, quali presentazione e degustazione di vini locali, esibizione di gruppi folcloristici e così via

Grand Hotel Pestana ottima struttura buona accoglienza
E' sicuramente un ottimo hotel ma per noi che avevamo un cagnolino, forse, era meglio un altra tipologia di hotel ,siamo stati accolti molto bene e fortunatamente noi atrezzati con un trasportino ci hanno fatto entrare anche al ristorante . Comunque €. 25,00 al giorno per il cane ci è sembrato ecessivo .

Great location, great staff and amenities
Great location with all available amenities. Easy access to Forum Madeira mall as well as Funchal attractions. The staff are extremely positive and proactive to make your stay comfortable. Only negative is that the hotel needs a revamp with the flooring in the common areas, the dining area a bit run down. The rooms are really good size but again, the furniture needs a revamp.

Great location. We walked the Lido everyday to Praia Formosa and we walked one day to Funchal (60 minutes). We also used the Yellow Hop On Hop Off bus which had 2 stops really close to the hotel. The staff could not be more helpful. Ask for a west facing room. We had a lovely ocean view, but could not see sunset from our balcony. No problem, easily seen from the pool area.

Geweldig hotel
Goede service, mooie grote kamers, netjes en schoon. Hotel is ook een goede uitvalsbasis voor de rest van het eiland. Het eten in de restaurants is erg goed (wel van tevoren reserveren), het standaard buffet vonden we wat te massaal. Enige aanmerking zou zijn dat het al een wat ouder hotel is, maar onze kamer was daar niets van te merken

Dans l’ensemble des prestations décevantes. La chambre est spacieuse, beaucoup de rangements et un balcon très agréable avec vue mer. Mais obligée de demander que le ménage soit fait de façon « normale » et se rendre compte que c’est fait de façon superficielle. Les installations sont un peu démodées mais bien entretenues. La situation au bord de la mer avec accès à la promenade du Lido est impeccable. Mais le vrai problème concerne la demi-pension. Le petit déjeuner est quelconque, des produits industriels sans goût. Le dîner sous forme de buffet est comparable à une cantine triste, les propositions sont standardisées pour une clientèle internationale. Peu de cuisine locale. Et l’impression de plats sans âmes et dépourvus d’assaisonnement. Nous avons après 3 jours renoncé à la demi pension déjà payée pour prendre PDJ et repas à l’extérieur. Notre absence durant plus de la moitié du séjour est passée inaperçue. Au moment du checkout aucune question, pas de feed-back. L’impression d’avoir été invisibles.

Excellent hotel - highly recommend.
Lovely hotel with great amenities. Excellent large room which was very comfortable. Beautiful gardens and quiet surroundings but about 1 hour walk to centre of Funchal. There is no hotel shuttle into Funchal - would be good if provided as buses are quite busy. Choice of restaurants was good and half board a good option although there are plenty of restaurants on the walk in to Funchal. There is no shuttle service from or to the airport - either taxi (€45 approx) or bus. Tea/coffee supplied on arrival but need to request after if more required as not automatically replenished. Overall would highly recommend if you are happy to walk or bus to Funchal when needed.

We particularly enjoyed the outdoor pool area and the hotel generally was lovely. The buffet restaurant was poorly organised for easy flow of guests. It was good to have alternative options. Some staff were excellent; others were possibly still being trained. If we asked for coffee, we needed to remember to ask for cups too! Our sea view room was beautiful and spacious. Please get rid of the plastic mattress protectors though - so uncomfortable.

Madeira's a great spot to vacation and we thoroughly recommend the Pestana Grand Ocean Resort. It's in a quiet location - about 25 mins drive from the airport, so no flight noise and far enough away from the cruise ship dock to be impacted by their daily arrival - but still convenient for Funchal via bus or walking along the promenade. The staff were great and very friendly/helpful, the room we booked had a fine ocean view and was spotless. We'd certainly stay there again.

Stayed here during Christmas. The hotel is a little away from the city but probably has one of the best views. Lovely walking trail by the sea just as you walk out with some places to eat and tons of bars. We decided to go to Madeira during Christmas for its Christmas market since a lot of the other places are known to be closed on Christmas Day. The hotel staff is AMAZING and very helpful. They helped us arrange our excursions and we could not be happier. We were a large group too and they accommodated a lot of our requirements. The hotel is a little old and could do with a little upgrade. In all we had a great stay but given when we were there wished we had chosen something closer to the city of Funchal. Overall good hotel if views are what you are looking for.

Enjoyed our stay (2-weeks) in this great hotel, friendly team, very helpful. Weather was very warm at 23 celsius in November, often a bit windy in the afternoon. Great food, especially in the restaurants. If you need food for your soul, the church service in the English Church in Funchal is inspiring.

This hotel has been the best hotel I’ve stayed in. I’ve traveled quite a bit but Pestana Grand has topped them all. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel very welcome. The ladies at the front are very professional and very polite. Check-in was really fast, smooth and very informative of the amenities of the property and the surroundings. The hotel room was large, clean and very comfortable. The restaurants are clean and well run with loads of dishes to choose from daily. All dishes are fresh and very tasty. I stayed 5 nights and wish I could of stayed longer, but I will be back next year. Great team work and well run hotel. Keep up the good work team Pestana.
