The position right on the lake was nice. One night with four of us in a room probably enough though good to break the car journey.

We don’t recommend this motel.
The room was so small that you couldn’t swing a cat in it. There was no where to put anything, no hairdryer or wardrobe. We were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a water view but the rooms were just as tiny as the standard room. It was more expensive than the one we stayed in in Victor Harbour and it was more than twice the size. We were really disgusted with the motel in Meningie.

It’s a beautiful location right on the water. You can watch pelicans land in the water from your room.

Nice quiet place to stay right on the lake, rooms are slightly out dated but clean and tidy. Staff are super friendly and welcoming.

Very small room but with a nice comfortable bed . Very nice outlook from the room across the lake with pelicans on the jetty out front. Friendly host.

Amazing lake views with waterbirds and sunsets.
With continuation of the upgrading of facilities it should be great again in the future. Basic amenities even in our premium room. Breakfast in cafe is not till 8:30am does not cater for early travellers. Cafe at lunch, but no longer functioning for dinner. So sad to see what could be an amazing place, no longer so, except for the view!

Shower took 5 minutes to regulate the hot and cold water to a state that you could have a shower. Rooms were very old and tiny.

Amazing views but the room wasn't great. Heater was rather noisy switching on and off. Windows didn't lock and the bed wasn't overly comfortable. Very basic food, really nice staff

Convenient and clean stop over
We stayed here just for one night passing through to Adelaide, along the coast. The motel is well located for such stops being just off the main road. Meningie is not a big town so food options are limited but the cafe attached to the motel offers good simple food. The rooms are simple but fine for an overnight stay and the facilities are good. The road is a little close so there is some noise but it's convenient. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Spectacular Location, Warm & Friendly Hosts
This is one of the most superbly located motels you will ever find, located right on the edge of Lake Albert, with the water lapping on the shore no more than 5 metres from your room. Watch the sun go down over the lake, wake to a magnificent view in the morning. The motel is under new management, and the new owners are enthusiastic people who are undertaking big improvements to the place. The food at the adjoining cafe (owned and run by the motel owners) is well up to the standards you would expect, and is very cheap. The owners are such nice people, welcoming and friendly. Please ignore the negative reviews of this place on the Internet. Those reviews pertain to the time when the motel had different owners, and they do not reflect the way the place is being run now. The rooms, the food, the ambience, the service - all are much better than they way the are portrayed in these out-dated reviews. If you want a reasonably priced motel in a great location, with good, cafe-quality food and a nice, clean, well-cared-for vice about it, look no further.

Nice hotel right on water
View from front bedroom window amazing. 2nd bedroom had no air con and water pressure in shower poor, apart from that good value for money. Little bit dated. Beautiful area and lots of places to explore around Lake Albert.
