I went on Hotels.com to get a hotel in Naples after the hurricane. Most places were filled up. Around 3 pm ,Vanderbilt Bch Resort popped up on the list for around $330 /night as open and available. I paid for a few days.
I was safe in Ft Lauderdale, and came to Naples knowing I had a good resort to stay at-there'd be NO other way to drive to Naples when my own home had no power, and was flooded.
When I got to Vanderbilt Beach Road at Vanderbilt Drive in Naples, the police said everything was closed on the beach, and I could not possibly stay where I said the resort was-no power.
I am so angry that they suddenly put this ad up on Hotels.com the day after the hurricane, and led me to arrive with no place to stay. Why couldn't they have just left the listing off, as it was the day of the hurricane??
Not Good PR folks, misleading people by putting up a post after a hurricane that knocked out your power.
