Posizione perfetta perché in un quartiere residenziale e vicino a central park e al Met e al Guggenheim. I luoghi da visitare sono tutti raggiungibili facilmente con metro e autobus. Albergo in stile vecchia New York con stanza molto comoda forse un po’ piccola ma con un grande bagno. Per me benissimo perché la usata solo per dormire: tutto il giorno fuori per visitare la città.

Hello and thank you for your comments about your stay with us. I am sorry we are not closer to the subway system but we are Upper East Side which is a little distance from the subway. Buona scelta per un soggiorno a New york
L'Hotel si trova in Central Park, uno dei migliori quartieri di New York, vicino a due stazioni della metropolitana ed a bar, negozi, musei e ristoranti. Il centro è raggiungibile in poche fermate di metrò o con un autobus, se invece si decide di andare a piedi il percorso è un pò lungo ma piacevole. L'Hotel è molto carino, pulito, ed anche se la struttura ha qualche anno, è ben tenuto. Nel piano mezzanino è disponibile una sala relax con caffè e the gratuiti ed un internet point, mentre all'ultimo piano troviama una grande terrazza allestita con tavoli e sedie. Le camere sono abbastanza grandi con un bel bagno e ben arredate.

hotel vecchiotto, lobby triste, bellissima terrazza con vista su Central park. camera piccolissima affacciata su corte interna sempre buia. armadio piccolissimo (fortunatamente è estate e i vestiti sono poco voluminosi) bagno molto bello e interamente rinnovato, grande quasi come la camera..... personale giovane e professionale..

Un po' distante dalla fermata della metro a 4 blocchi dalla 96 e a 6 blocchi dalla 86 poi ci sono due avenue da attraversare. Comunque positivo nel complesso. Molto gentili e disponibili i ragazzi della reception

LA STANZA PIU' PICCOLA DEL MONDO
Abbiamo scelto questo hotel basandoci sulle segnalazioni di Expedia, ma all'arrivo ci e' stata assegnata la stanza 601 ed è stata una delusione! Definirla piccola è gia' un'esagerazione: il letto ad una piazza e mezzo occupava l'intera stanza lasciando ai lati uno spazio minimo per passare, l'armadio di 80 cm non riusciva a contenere neppure il cappotto e non c'era neppure lo spazio per aprire le valigie e dove riporle una volta vuotate. Dopo rimostranze e facendo presente che ci saremmo fermati per 7 giorni e non una sola notte per cui avremmo potuto adattarci ci hanno assegnato la camera 602, non grande, ma almeno nell'armadio abbiamo potuto sistemare le nostre cose e avevamo lo spazio per muoverci. Peccato però che la stanza desse in un cavedio senza luce e che anche tenendo chiuse le finestre e il nostro condizionatore spento ci fosse un continuo rumore di sottofondo dei condizionatori delle stanze vicine. Per il resto nulla da dire sulla pulizia,la gentilezza del personale e il servizio te/caffe' 24 h su 24 libero.

Great hotel away from all the tourist.
I had been staying in hotel wales for so many years and I love it . I know what to spect no surprises for me! Check in is so easy at Recepcion with Loraine she is so friendly helpful, the same with the bell man there are two of them and they both are so good in what they do . When I’m at hotels Wales I feel special because they totally spoiled me . I couldn’t ask for anything more !!!

This place was a dump! The room was so small that when we opened the door it hit the bed. Everything was old and worn out. No closet. Tiny beds. Loose banisters. Slow elevators.

We did have a small issue with one of our elevators but we had our maintenance company in quickly to resolve it so again, our apologies if you had a longer than normal wait. Något slitet men med superskön King size-säng och stort och ljust badrum med rymlig dusch. Bra läge på Upper East Side, bara ett kvarter från Central Park. Närmsta Metro två avenyer österut och 4 eller 6 gator åt norr eller söder, ca 5-10min promenad. Premium suite på 9:e våningen har utsikt både över Madison Ave och parken. Takterrass ett plus vid varmare årstider. Plus: skön säng, bra badrum, gratis kaffe 24/7 och fin utsikt. Minus: rejält nedgånget (fläckiga mattor, avskavda snickerier, luggslitna prydnadskuddar), extremt oskön bäddsoffa (enligt tonårsdottern som har stor erfarenhet av att sova i extrasäng...) och oisolerade fönster.

We loved the quietness of the location and the corner room with 3 windows, all with views. There were excellent restaurants on site and other eateries and markets within easy walking distance. Central Park was only a block a way. The concierge was very helpful. There was a nice roof-top garden. The room was small but, better than average by New York standards.

Classic old Wales - have stayed here over many many years - stays the same - a good choice at under $280...crazy at over $300. Wonderful thoughtful staff, little brown rooms, and in my case this stay a twin bed I struggled to not fall out of - was it rounded a little or just very firm and I was not used to a twin bed? I like the Wales mainly for the Quiet and the neighborhood - good restaurant choices nearby - a small grocery store, book store, flower shop, home goods store - all within about a block. Sarabeths is great for all meals and you don't have to go outside!

The room we stayed in was clean, tidy and largely noise-free (especially at night). Beds comfortable and well-maintained, though the pillows are a little thin (depends on your personal preference though). The front desk staff tended to be a little cold in their interactions but polite. Room cleaning staff excellent and friendly. Good location, very reasonable hotel for the price. Biggest issue is that room keys/cards seemed to fail frequently, we had to get them reset multiple times during our one-week stay. No real explanation was given for the failure but staff seemed to be aware that it was a consistent problem. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

Good location for our museum events. But this hotel is closing down next year and will be turned into condos.

Although we are closing in early January, we will be open with the full services we always run right up to the last day. Please book me in higher room floors, those that have been completely renovated. My room was halfway done, in the closet, the wall needs repair, and wallpaper is partially torn. The room needs to be cleaned - possible mold spores in air conditioning vents, as my eyes kept itching until I got out of the room. Nice mezzanine and rooftop needs better upkeep.

We were glad you enjoyed our hotel overall as well as your accommodations. The hotel has no renovations going on at this time and we did do many upgrades last year with all brand new beds, carpet, lamps, paint and sofa beds throughout the hotel. We do apologize that you felt your room was not completed as well as having problems with our AC units which are thoroughly cleaned each week. Reminded me of childhood apartment
We enjoyed the relaxed cozy atmosphere. Although our Room included an extra smallish living room. We were in NYC to visit Jewish Museum, Very close to hotel. And excellent restaurants next Door and across the street- great neighborhood.
