Meraviglioso, ma sul serio
La Scozia è un bellissimo paese, visitato in grande maggioranza da escursionisti, scalatori, campeggiatori, cicloturisti, appassionati di trekking e via dicendo. Insomma da un tipo di turismo che guarda molto ai costi. Questo è il motivo per il quale nelle recensioni dei vari siti per alloggi troverete aggettivi tipo “fantastico” e “superlativo” principalmente per B&B e alberghi economici che, come è noto, nel Regno Unito non sono il massimo per comfort e pulizia. Tutto ciò per dire che se avete un “meraviglioso” che vi avanza regalatelo al Cuillin, che è uno dei pochi alberghi che lo merita. Bello, elegante, pulito, in una posizione unica, con camere grandi e nuove perfette, con un ristorante delizioso dove si mangia benissimo: un miraggio nel deserto del panorama alberghiero in Scozia. Certo, non costa come un B&B, ma se non viaggiate in bici e con lo zaino sulle spalle, questo è il posto dove stare.

Elegante e confortevole, ottimi anche i pasti.
Albergo molto bello e confortevole in posizione appena fuori città (10 minuti veri a piedi dal centro). Panorama e ambiente molto suggestivi. Anche io ristorante, in cui abbiamo fatto cena e colazione, è ottimo.

Albergo volutamente,forse troppo retrò
Fine Maggio 2016 organizzo viaggio in Scozia ma non mi accorgo che coincide con un ponte festivo locale,così quando devo prenotare un albergo a Skye mi ritrovo con poca scelta.Esclusi vari alberghi con bagno in comune (?) la soluzione migliore mi sembra il Cuillin Hills anche se il prezzo è di molto ( ma molto )superiore a quanto sia abituato a pagare.L'albergo è in una bellissima posizione con vista sul porto,ma purtroppo abbastanza distante da dover prendere la macchina per arrivare al paese,è un edificio quasi nuovo ma stile old England,anche nell'arredamento interno,la nostra stanza (che nonostante avessi prenotato tre mesi prima era nella dependance)era grande ma poco abitabile,con una enorme poltrona inutile,senza frigo e con i rubinetti,nuovi,del lavandino e della vasca separati per acqua calda e fredda,senza miscelatore,come si usava da noi 30 anni fa.

This hotel has class! And the scenic view of the lake and mountains is spectacular. The staff are helpful...don't be afraid to ask questions. Food was great. Started our day with a tasty Scottish breakfast and we're still going strong tonight.

We were so disappointed with our experience. The water-view rooms were all sold out when we booked and for £350 a night I was expecting more than a damp room with a view of the car park. It smelt very unfresh particularly in the bathroom where there was clearly a damp problem. Our room lacked privacy as anyone in the car park could see in so we had to have the blinds closed all the time. I really regret not booking elsewhere as service was also very mixed. The receptionist that checked us in was great, but other service awful. After failing to get any attention, we had to get up to find waiters at breakfast when what we ordered didn’t come, and we spent a dinner being ignored by any servers all evening even though it was quiet. We also saw multiple people complain about, or return food, which I’ve never seen anywhere before!

We had a fantastic stay at the Cuillin Hills Hotel. The staff is exceptional, the rooms were spotless and well-kept, the views of the surrounding area were beautiful, and since the weather can change (during March) at any time; it was awesome to eat dinner in the restaurant and avoid having to wander to and from time. Breakfasts and dinners were fantastic! The hotel includes a relaxing common room with fireplace that was quite charming.

Favorite hotel while in Scotland. View out of our room was amazing. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable bed. Restaurant at the hotel was excellent and the staff was beyond friendly. Will stay there again when we go back.

Relaxing atmosphere, from sitting in lawn overlooking the painted bldg of Skye, or enjoying a drink in the sitting room fireside, or in the bar/restaurant. The restaurant staff and food was great, and the selection of drinks to choose from was abundant.

Friendly staff, beautiful room and restaurant!
Beautiful hotel, wheelchair accessible room was absolutely perfect, so much space and the views were stunning in all weather. All members of staff were extremely helpful and kind. Perfect base to explore, we stayed for 3 nights and managed to cover all (bar Raasay distillery) if the points of interest on the hotels map of the island plus more!

Nous étions un groupe de 9 personnes, tout s'est très bien passé sauf pour un couple qui s'est retrouvé avec des punaises de lit... L'hôtel a bien réagi en lavant toutes leurs affaires mais cela a créé quelques déconvenues quand même, c'est dommage.

We had an incredible stay here. The view was amazing and the food immaculate. We stayed in January and as it was quiet we got a free upgrade which was just so special for us. The staff were so helpful with helping us leave in the snow and just couldn’t have asked for a better experience

During our 2-week visit to Scotland, I managed to catch RSV. I was miserable. And by the time we reached Portree, I was struggling to breathe. My husband spoke to the Cuillin Hills hotel staff about how to go about seeing a doctor and they immediately got to helping us out. The desk staff spent over an hour on hold with the NHS to help establish my "temporary resident" status so that we could even get in to see a doctor. They printed out a map with all of the addresses of the nearby healthcare facilities. They allowed me to order off of the children's menu, as my appetite was non-existent and I was only able to tolerate blander food. They also let us know that we could extend our stay as long as needed, if I was too sick to travel to the next destination. And on the day we left, they told us to not worry about the check-out time. We could take as long as needed to get packed and out the door. I have never received better service at ANY hotel establishment, in my 30 years of travel experience. I wish I could give more than just 5 stars. The Cuillin Hills Hotel is truly the cream of the crop and has set a standard of service I'm not sure any future establishment will ever match.

Great place to stay
Beautiful hotel with an amazing view. They upgraded our rooms complimentary and they were clean and comfy. The bathroom was great and same with the shower. The have Isle of skye soap which was a nice touch. The food at the restaurant was amazing. The staff was super friendly as well.

We stayed in the ground floor turret room. It was lovely. Could have been a bit warmer one of the radiators not working properly. But everything else was lovely.
