My room flooded on first night, and bathroom sink would not drain. They sent someone to fix it at 1AM but 30 minutes later it started again. That ceiling was heavily leaking all night into the next day. After begging the front desk the next morning and showing videos they agreed to move me at the end of the next day. I am from Jamaica and used to heavy rainfall, this was not that heavy. We walked past hallways that had towels barricading the door to stop water from entering. Even interacting with persons who were there on much longer stays who had to move several times due to water damage etc. Gentleman at the front desk Belnin was excellent, the definition of true hospitality. Even tho there was no service recovery, I appreciated coming back to the room and finding an apology note, as well as a bottle of wine. We ended up leaving it for staff, as I’m not a heavy drinker and could not take it back with me. Beautiful hotel, it really does look like paradise but the infrastructure seemed poorly built. Also, the public spaces seemed to suffer quite a bit from the rainfall, lobby, buffet, seating areas outside etc. Maybe no proper drainage system? I’m not sure but that was a mess.
Again, thank you again to Belnin and Javier at the front desk for wonderful service! La Mareas, Inara and El Ashdod service and food was great.
