My wife and I stayed here overnight, so that in the morning, we could drive up and see the "Total Eclipse." Recommendation-wise: if you are looking for a spacious, economical room for an over-night stay, you can't go wrong with the Shady Oaks Motel. The staff is truly exceptional, and the rooms are "very clean." The single-story exterior is genuine "Kennedy-era" with character and charm ... "inside" we got a room big enough that it "comfortably" accommodated two queen beds, two stuffed sitting chairs, a chest of drawers, a desk, and an amenities-unit (with a refrigerator, microwave and hot water pot for coffee). Did I mention it was spacious? ...Yeah, it is !! The room also included a "real closet" for clothes. Okay, the bathroom was a little "dated" ... but it was clean, functional... and "good-sized." The room had some minor cosmetic flaws, but, overall, I felt comfortable and safe. I would go back in a heart-beat !!
