We sincerely apologize if there was any confusion about our hotel policies at check in. The hotel requires a credit card from all guests in order to check into the room. You can certainly pay with cash at the conclusion of your stay at which point we will release any authorization we were holding on the credit card. With regards to your breakfast experience, the voucher that I believe you presented is for a food and beverage credit. It does not cover the entire cost of breakfast but is instead a voucher to be applied to any food and beverage outlets within the hotel.
