Family Friendly Spring Break
This property is exactly as described, clean, and just what our family needed to be able to enjoy more space than a traditional hotel room. The kitchen was well appointed and the golf cart was an absolute must. This property is a little farther back in the complex which made it peaceful, but walking to anything is really not an option. The unit could benefit from some written directions/maps inside the home. The only information we received was in our check in email that included details on parking and how to get the key. We really had to look around the house for things and there was no map of the property. If the owner could include a sheet or binder that stays in the house that shows a map of the property, internet codes, what to do if the golf cart runs out of gas, etc., it would have been really helpful. However, communicating with Julia was easy and she was very kind. We stayed during peak season and were not supposed to use the main resort pools. This was not an issue for our family as we had excursions planned and we found the owners club pool and beach access to be exactly what we needed, less crowded. However, I only point this out in case you have smaller children and have your heart set on using the resort pool. This truly was a great location on the island and a good space for a family of four to enjoy spring break.

Beautiful soace
We stayed here for all of February. It is a beautiful space. We had plenty of room to live comfortably with a beautiful view of the golf course on the balcony. We did cook quite a bit. We bought food to grill but the grill wasn't functional. There was a George Foreman but it wasn't clean. The kitchen had much of what we needed but was lacking measuring cups & spoons & any type of mixing bowl or storage containers. We stayed in Palmas Del Mar for 2 weeks prior & gave up our rental car after arriving to this villa as it included a golf cart for use. It would have been nice to have a book that gave us information about the area, restaurants, the Wyndham... we had to figure it out for ourselves. You can rent a car from the Wyndham for about $40/day. We did this 3 times to get groceries and explore. you can take the golf cart to the Wyndham and park it for free (enter at the main entrance and you will see where other carts are parked). The bell hops are happy to call you a taxi or the free shuttle to Richie's or Las Picuas. Several times We parked at the Wyndham and walked the beach, crossed the river to go to Carrabali Beach Bar. Chris and his crew are great. Walk another 15 minutes and you're at the Kioskos. The pools are nice and the beach is gorgeous! I'd recommend to stay here. We will however forever hate speed bumps after this stay lol. It is a 3rd floor condo (didn't bother us) and the 2nd bedroom is best suited elementary/middle schoolers due to stairs

Large very clean and lots of amenities. Very responsive to questions. Great location The only downside is the second bedroom is upstairs with a very narrow circular small staircase. Everything else was fantastic

Rio Mar Resort Vacation

Amazing in every way
My wife and I stayed 5 nights and loved our vacation. The place is spacious, incredibly comfortable, beautiful, and has everything you need. We enjoyed driving the golf cart each day to the private beach and pool, enjoying the scenic views on the way. There were plenty of fun restaurants within 10 minutes drive for us to try something new each day. We also took a trip into El Yunque rainforest which was nearby. Julia was a great, responsive host, we felt extremely relaxed, and felt like we found the best place to stay in Puerto Rico!

Very nice villa in beautiful resort!
Check in was super easy and the villa had everything we needed. Golf cart was a definite plus! Everything was very clean and well stocked. We had all the pools pretty much to ourselves the entire time. Beach was wonderful and we preferred it to all the beaches we visited. It was also nice having the casino and hotel facilities there. Definitely recommend this villa. Thank you Julia!

We had a pleasant stay at Rio Mar. the grounds are impeccable and our villa was very nice. The unit is probably best suited for a couple and 2 kiddos. When we had questions, we got a quick response. It’s in the third floor, no elevator, which should be listed in the description. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Wonderful vacation!
We had a lovely vacation at this beautiful condo! There were no issues at all and the property contact was always accessible and willing to help. Excellent location and we used the home owners pool and beach access every day with no issues. Local restaurant Dom Pepe was delicious and Roots at the resort was the best on the property. We will be returning to Rio Mar next year!

Nice Villa!
Originally it was going to be 5 adults however only 3 of actually stayed at the Villa. The check in process was ok, the lock was jammed so I did need to reach out to the owner and eventually it unjammed once my husband continued to work the lock. I do not think that there would have been enough space for 2 other adults since it would have been all my children, I was fine with them staying in one room that provided 3 twin beds (one of the twin beds was just a mattress that would have laid on the floor) the bedroom was super tiny and the listing says this is large enough for 5 people. Definitely not large enough, 3 is the most I would have in this villa. Bathrooms need to be updated and the water takes quite a while to warm up, only take one shower at a time! Very limited towels for the beach and shower and absolutely no washcloths so pack some extra towels for a family. Having the access of the golf cart is great and helpful. No beach chairs so be prepared to just lay on a small towel when you go to the beach unless you pick up some sand chairs since the Wyndham will not allow villa guests to use the beach chairs or the pool chairs. Lovely location within the Wyndham property.

Thanks for your review and for staying in our villa. I want to clarify other guest with this info , the second room has three twin beds and one of them comes out of a drawer under other bed with a frame with wheels not is only a mattress on the floor, that room is small with a closet, it's like a loft , it is very cozy . The master bedroom is very large has a king size bed with a private bathroom, two separately sinks the toilet is private and a walking closet. The towels left are 5 in total for bathing and 5 for the beach for stays up four days. We believe in conserving the environment but the apartment has a washer and dryer if you want to wash them. You can enter the beach from several places since the beaches in Puerto Rico are public, definitely the hotel beach has umbrellas, chairs and are for the use of your guests ,it is included in the price for staying at the Wyndham hotel. Residents and guests can access the homeowners club which has free parking, lounge chairs for the pool, cash bar and food administrated by the Wyndham on weekends there are free lounge chairs in the beach area (around 30), if there is an empty one it can be occupied or sometimes they are one on top of the other and can be used. In the pool area you can only consume what they sell but in the beach area you can bring a cooler with snacks and food if you wish. If you have any questions we are always available to guide you. The heater in the apartment is a line heater and you have to let the water run a bit so that it gets hot once it happens it flows OK but definitely if you use both bathrooms at the same time the temperature drops.

Julia was approachable. We stayed for 4 nights with little kids and toddler. I would say cleaning could definitely be improved. There were spilled coffee stains on coffee table and floor underneath it. Floor overall could have been better cleaned. We could not leave any food outside on tables due to Ants. The best part was golf cart that came along with our booking. Things around villa are not at walkable distance so we used golf cart to go to pool and dining restaurants. I loved the fact that we could use everything inside golf resort including restaurants, pools and private beach. Everything was extremely well maintained in the resort area and we had amazing time. Villa had utensils and all basic amenities including towels, toiletries, and extra bedding. We would def love to stay here again.

Relaxing GetAway
Overall property was nicely clean. Bathrooms need some updating- future projects. Host was very helpful anytime we needed assistance. I will recommend this place to a family with younger children-3 twin beds in the loft bedroom. It's great that it comes with a golf-cart because would be a 20 minute walk to the beach. You may also drive to the beach without leaving the resort area.

Beautiful property in a beautiful place
Our family of four had a wonderful time at this property and in Puerto Rico. The condo was very clean and updated -- beds very comfortable, loft area for two teens just big enough, and the kitchen had everything we needed (although a couple of mixing/serving bowls would have been nice). The hot water in one of the bathrooms didn't work well, so we all just showered in the other bathroom. The grocery store nearby was perfect and we tried several of the pre-marinated chicken and pork options they had, plus giant local mangos, delicious bananas and more. The one surprise was that we were not allowed to use the pools next to the Wyndham hotel -- could not use the waterslide pool, the pools with the hot tubs, the pool next to the restaurants and bars. We didn't realize this, were sitting in one of those pools, and a security guard came over and made us get out, get our things and leave. Kind of embarrassing when the listing says we had access. There are two other pools, one in walking distance to the condo and another with beach access that is all the way on the other side of the hotel area. They are not as nice, but they were fine. The beach in the area is beautiful and had great waves while we were there. We also drove to the beach in the next town of Luquillo and floated in the cove there and did excursions to El Yunque, the Laguna Grande bio bay, Old San Juan, and Vieques for snorkeling. It was a fantastic trip and we all want to go back to PR!

Thanks for your review. Yes the Wyndham pool is reserved only for hotel guest. But The complex has a pool with BBQ area and children playground and guest can enjoy the homeowner club pool with cash bar / food managed by Wyndham with direct access to the beach, free parking and lounges seat free in the pool and beach area.

Good stay
This is a private property, separated from the Resort. This unit is a third floor walk up, very clean. Golf cart provided for commuting. A map of the grounds should be provided. Had a good time with my family.

Holiday in a holiday
Loved the stay. The upper level room for the kids gave us excellent privacy. My husband was mostly at work so the private beach and golf cart and view of the rain firest didn't make us feel like we were missing out. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need for a trip to the beach so all you need is your swim wear!! That was an excellent touch! Would love to come back again!

Wonderful intro to PR
The property is located in a very safe and beautiful community w/in the Wyndam Rio Mar development. Great views, floor plan and comfort. Beach is accessible by the golf cart or car ; beach is very nice w/ shade trees. The rainforest is 10 minutes away; the local town of Rio Grande has all shops and Mameyes is a wonderful village for food and drinks atmosphere. Most locals speak some English but be prepared with minimal Spanish. Had a great fishing trip w/ Alberto Jimenez out of Humacao ; grouper, King fish and Mahi. A great experience for my family ....will be back to see more of the island.

Wonderful location for our visit!
The property was exactly what we needed! The place was clean, well appointed, wonderful views from the balcony and easy to get to from the airport. We did visited El Yunque, San Juan, and Vieques to name a few and this location was a perfect jumping off point! The overall Wyndham resort was wonderful as well! The host was very responsive and helpful! Having access to all the facilities was a definite bonus!

Overlooking the golf course
Very nice stay in a superb property. Embedded in a luxurious resort with great pool areas and a fantastic beach. Loved it here. Easy to reach from the airport and close to the rainforest.

Not a two room villa
This place is a spacious comfortable one room villa with a lot of room for improvement and a windowless loft that has two beds. The spiral staircase to go up to the loft can not be navigated easily and I would not have small kids there. There is absolutely no water pressure so taking a shower is a forever deal. The loft Stairs are steep and narrow- no way to get luggage up the stairs There were ants everywhere we had to buy roach spray to use around all the windows. Toaster was broken. Stovetop glass is broken making it very unsafe. Showers - one taps are reversed the other has a loose valve. Shower grout coming off. Wall stucco peeling with cracks. Master Bedroom has a bottomless drawer Balcony doesn’t lock Couch headrests are broken

Beautiful and Quiet Atmosphere
I have been trying to submit this review since the day I left. Unfortunately, something went wrong with the site but... Anyway! Ms. Julia was a great hostess. She gifted my husband and me with a bottle of wine and balloons for our 1 year anniversary. The golf cart was a plus and we had access to all amenities on the resort. The kitchen was fully stocked and whatever extra we needed to know, instructions were written down. Great stay and will stay again when we come back. Clean, comfortable, and inviting.

Tranquil escapade
This condo is inside the Wyndham Hotel property and it's gated 24/7 so we felt very safe. The complex is large and the apartment is very roomy and beautiful. The amenities were excellent (cooler, beach towels, central air, kitchen appliances, beach chairs). When we arrived, we had a bit of an issue opening the lock box but Julia was very responsive and sent out a security guard to assist. There is a pool inside the complex that we didn't use but preferred to use the private one that's closer to the hotel but you have to drive there. There is also a pathway to the beach that's beautiful. You cannot walk anywhere and need to drive outside the property to go to any restaurant but they were close by. The property is very close to the Yunque rainforest and Luquillo beach so there's plenty to explore in that area. We will definitely be back!

Well equipped apartment!
This place was fantastic for our family of 4. Full access to resort amenities, a fully equipped kitchen, and use of the golf cart made for a great vacation! Highly recommended!

Great week in Beautiful Rio Mar Village
Everything about our trip was as described in the other comments! Julia and her husband are very responsive. The condo is beautiful, spacious, well equipped, and has everything you need! Golf cart was a plus…as it is very nice to drive in the open air around the beautiful grounds! With that being said, it needs to be updated…but it was an extra perk! The Wi Fi is awful, which isn’t the owners fault….just make sure you have access to Netflix’s or Prime video or you will have no TV all week. The unit should really have cable since it’s used so frequently! The power went out a few times on the whole town of Rio Grande, once for 12 hours, but owner said it’s a common problem. Pools and beaches were amazing!!!! Very secluded and not crowded!!! Security was great as well!!! Amazing stay! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!! Lauren

Great villa in a quiet beautiful area
The property is great, located just 20 minutes from San Juan. You feel safe with guards and gates. You get access to the beach and golf carts are really helpful getting around. We didn't have access to casino or Margaritaville but you have Iguana's if you want to have dinner. Property is located off the main highway with near by restaurants, shops, supermarkets, etc. Also located 10 minutes from Yunke National Park. Host responds quickly and the property has all amenities you'd expect from a resort/hotel. My one disappointment was the cleanliness. It seems tops (counters, sinks) were just dusted off real fast not actually cleaned. We could see hairs and junk. The floors were also dirty as we felt junk on our feet, had to sweep floors myself. Master tub has mildew build-up.

The master bedroom very roomy comfortable with a bathroom suite the small bedroom on top is really for children no teenagers 12 or less no mirrors no drawers no place to put your things the small closet was really no practical at all Nice view the family room confortable we have an issue with the tv since the instructions that were given we not accurate we were able to watch YouTube The master bedroom did not have the main control to make the tv work The manager is very nice she called me right away and text me when I reach out the beach is far you cannot walk it I love Puerto Rico and I was there to see it therefore it work for us

Spring Break 2021
We had a good time in Puerto Rico over Spring Break 2021. Overall the property was well kept, well maintained and offered a number of extras we appreciated like the beach towels and the golf clubs! Overall it is very spacious - especially the kitchen and master suite. Couple of things to be aware of - while it sleeps 5 the loft area if you have 3 people up there is pretty much all beds. Kinda tight for 3 teenagers. But you are pretty much only sleeping up there! Also super nice to rent the 2nd golf cart as you really need them to get around the grounds if you have a larger group that will be splitting up. Both of the golf carts could use some new brakes! Julia was very responsive and we really enjoyed renting from her.
