splendissimo!!!!
Quel bonheur d'être accueillis et gâtés par Roberta et son mari... Déjà à l'arrivée, Roberta nous a montré la maison avec de l'enthousiasme mais aussi avec discrétion. Le couple habite dans une maison à côté de la villa mais respecte vraiment la vie familiale des hôtes. Toujours à notre service, par what's app ou comme on voulait, pour nous donner les meilleurs conseils concernant restos, magasins, villages à visiter. La maison en soi: on ne pourrait pas rêver mieux: belle grande maison, très fraîche à l'intérieur (la nuit, il fait 20°C donc si on ouvre les fenêtres la nuit et quand on garde tout fermé la journée, il y fait super agréable.) En plus, clima en haut si jamais il fait encore trop chaud. Les pièces sont vraiment comme sur les photos: belles, spacieuses et décorées avec du goût. De grandes chambres, avec dans une netflix, qu'ont a adoré les enfants pendant la sieste. Dans la cuisine, il y a tout ce qui faut, même pour faire un grand repas. Dehors, c'est le paradis: des petits coins dans l'ombre ou au plein soleil, des fauteuils, des tables et des chaises pour se reposer, pour un apéro ou pour prendre un bain de soleil. Une piscine dont on rêve: petits plateaux pour commencer sur lequel peuvent jouer les plus petits, puis une piscine de 1.50m pour nager ou jouer. Tout est super bien entretenu: pelouse verte, piscine propre, potager agréable duquel on peut manger les tomates et courgettes. Les villages autour sont sympa: Spello est authentique, comme Cannara et Bevagna. Puis Foligno, c'est une ville très chouette, avec de beaux magasins. Pour le reste, nous n'avons pas visité ni Assisi, ni Perugia, pourtant prévu, mais la maison était trop agréable, le jardin trop tentant de les quitter... Nous avons profité pleinement de nos vacances et conseillons avec tout notre coeur Villa Monaldesca. Merci Roberta et Max!

The best holiday home and the most wonderful, caring and loveable hosts we ever had!
Massimo and Roberta’s house is a paradise on earth, a wonderfully restored mill in the countryside near Assissi and Perugia which they renovated and furnished with love for every tiny detail - ranging from the beautiful and grand patio, a calm and peaceful study room to the tastefully decorated and spacious bed- and livingrooms. They were both very welcoming and incredibly generous: every morning we were served an abundance of sweet pastry, different sorts of bread, local ham, cheese and jam and a lot more. They assisted us in heating the pizza oven outside, welcomed us with self-made cake and even got up early on Saturday morning to say goodbye when we had to leave. The house itself is equipped with everything you need, there is nothing left to desire, while the garden serves you with herbs, self-grown tomatoes, zucchinis, eggplants and all kinds of herbs. There are several cozy places to eat and relax outside, both in the sun and in the shadows, for instance after an extensious bath in the big swimming pool, a short workout on the basketball court or after a croquet game in the garden - not to mention the many other games provided in and outside the house. We definitely loved this place and would recommend everyone to get to know Roberta’s and Massimo’s paradisiac holiday home – they were definitely the best and most caring hosts we ever had!

Family Getaway in Umbria
We had an amazing stay at Monaldesca Villa. The hosts were very easy to contact and the place was amazing- very clean and had everything we needed and more, including pool toys, a speaker, recipe and tools to make pizza in the pizza oven. We enjoyed our time very much.

Fantastic property
Having just returned from two weeks in this beautiful property we can highly recommend it! The Villa is very authentic (steep stone stairs) but done up with such taste and design. The bedrooms all have en-suites and air conditioning (we were there during a heatwave so this was very welcome). The bedroom downstairs with two single beds is the only room with a smart TV so has Netflix/Disney etc...the lounge does not have a TV but this didn't bother us at all. Outside there are many different areas to choose to sit. The pool is a lovely size with a perfect shallow area and large steps which are perfect to sit on to keep cool (however surrounded by grass, not patio). We were bitten to bits but that is just indicative of the area not fair to hold it against the property but Roberta leaves boxes of sprays and we purchased citronella candles which we felt helped. We used the wood burning Italian style BBQ which was fun and also the fire pit.There is a brilliant laundry room with a washer/dryer and ironing board in. Recycling is important and we wish we had known before our first shop about the glass water bottle recycling option (you put €6 in a tin in the laundry for a tray of water in glass bottles and you replace the bottles - also an option of sparkling) as we wouldn't have bought all the plastic bottles. Roberta and Max were perfect hosts they live next door but you would never know apart from the treats! Stay in this villa it's amazing!

Amazing stay in the heart of Umbria
Roberta has been truly amazing from the start - booking, communication, check in and check out, stay were seemless and worked like a charm. The pictures do not do the this beautiful house justice - it's even more beatiful and extremely comfrotable. The house has everything you could possibly need to enjoy a fantastic stay in the most amazing place on Earth like Umria. Thank you Roberta and Massimo for your hospitality! We would love to come back some day soon.

Excellent place to stay in Umbria
What a wonderful place to stay in Umbria! The villas was just so beautiful and comfortable. The grounds were lovely and the patio was perfect for outdoor dining, drinks and coffee in the morning. Roberta was very helpful in connecting us to a wonderful tour guide as well as a terrific chef. Note that there is a very steep stone staircase to get to the two master bedrooms, not a good choice for anyone with a disability. Also, the villa is in the country, you need a car as nothing is in walking distance.

A truly beautiful villa with every possible need met and many additional extras which made it more perfect. Roberta and Massimo were incredibly kind and helpful and we felt very well looked after. The most special place
Roberta's house is special on so many levels: great location to wonderful Umbria tons, perfectly designed property with many beautiful corners and amazingly thought through house for each use and details. Amazing property and stay
The villa is incredibly beautiful both inside and out. The care and thoughtful touches throughout are unequaled. From the beautiful bed linen to the fresh flowers and homemade torte upon arrival everything was done with utmost class. Roberta and Mossimo are gracious and generous host. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, serene yet centrally located stay in the Umbria region. Grazie!

Das Objekt war wirklich toll. Sehr stylische Einrichtung und tolles Equipment in der Küche.
Wir haben alles vorgefunden, was man in einer Ferienwohnung benötigt. Auch die Bäder war super. Leider konnten wir den Pool nicht nutzen, da es am zweiten Tag zu einem Temperatursturz kam. Wir werden wiederkommen.

COUNTRYSIDE LUXURY!
Just arrived back from 6 nights at Monaldesca, the stay exceeded our expectations and we were very sad to leave. Roberta was an amazing host and has clearly thought of everything regarding this property, the decoration and attention to detail is quite amazing. The property is in an excellent location in close proximity to Spello, Assisi, Montefalco etc. Spello was our favourite location in regards to its architecture and general vibe. A large supermarket was ample for a weeks groceries alongside lovely restaurants and independent shops, we found ourselves wondering around Spello often. We was very lucky to have wall to wall sunshine 30 degrees our entire stay so we made sure we used the outdoor facilities, the pool, outside dining area's alongside the darts board, basketball court etc it was extremely impressive. We loved the extra room that you could prepare you own pizza's with the pizza oven. We found the villa to be very quiet and private and felt very relaxed throughout our stay, Roberta was always there via whatsapp to answer any questions if necessary. The Kitchen was amazing, we rustled up some lovely meals, every utensil and appliance you could think of is supplied and it made it a real joy cooking. We loved Roberta's environmental ethos, as keen recyclers ourselves we was more than happy to oblige and follow her scheme. I'd love to go on but in summary it was a luxury 5* experience and we would have no hesitation in recommending Monaldesca. Thank You Roberta & Massimo. Tips- A car would be necessary due to its rural location and proximity to local towns would not be walking distance.

Spacious and beautifully presented country house
Roberta and Max have created a beautifully calm and stylish holiday home. Everything has been thought through down to the bathrobes! Outside are several areas to enjoy and the pool was a lovely temperature. We also really liked their environmental ethos with reusable glass water bottles available and easy recycling facilities. The nearest town of Spello has everything you will need and some excellent restaurants. Thank you Roberta for your attentions which were very much appreciated!

Stunning country-side villa with all the comforts and beautiful aesthetic
We absolutely LOVED our stay at Roberta and Massimo's stunning property. We're a family with two toddlers (one and three) and stayed with another couple for a week. Beautiful indoor/outdoor living, stunning, pool, gorgeous decoration and all the comforts of home - they have truly thought of every detail. We also loved their local recommendations of restaurants and quaint towns to visit - we hope to be back one day. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing! We didn't want to leave...
I can only agree with the other reviewer that this villa with its garden and pool deserves a thousand stars, also for us it was the best place we have ever stayed in! The villa is beautifully decorated and very spacious, everything was just perfect. We felt very spoilt getting breakfast every morning, ... not only delicious croissants and breads, but also juices, yoghurts, cereals, milk, coffee and teas....and even a cake for our afternoon tea! Thank you so much for everything, Roberta and Massimo, we had a super relaxing time.

The best! It was the most beautiful peaceful piece of heaven imaginable. Deserves 1000 stars.
Roberta and Max have created a gem of a home that is a once in a lifetime experience. From the magnificent property that is maintained to perfection to the design and decoration which makes you feel that it should be in Architectural Digest. It is immaculate and provided with every amenity you could think of. Roberta and Max are delightful hosts and available to suggest and help you with anything you might need. The pool is gorgeous and we frequently chose to linger longer than we planned as it was so beautiful there. We even cooked meals using herbs and vegetables from their garden. There were many highlights and Roberta and Max were one of them! Any time we had a request it was handled immediately. we wanted to find a farm that provided truffle hunting with dogs and lunch afterwards. They found the best! If we needed advice on the hill towns or where to buy the best olive oil or try the wine vineyards they were eager to suggest. Of course there were wines available from the local wineries in their home waiting for you. They didn’t miss a thing. Truly if we could have stayed longer we would have. One week wasn’t enough for us and we certainly plan to come back. We couldn’t have asked for more. We have traveled often and stayed at very luxurious hotels and you couldn’t beat this! Magnificent.

A hidden gem with great location and perfect hosts
Monaldesca was picture perfect and we had such a warm welcome from the hosts Roberta and Massimo. The villa had all the facilities and more that you would need. It is truly beautiful. We enjoyed the lovely pool and veranda set within a tranquil garden surounded by olive trees. A perfect place to explore the delights of Umbria with Assisi and Spello on the door step. The local food and wine is a culinary delight. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer and we will definetly return to spend some more time relaxing at Monaldesca and exploring the countryside.
