Beautiful cottage with stunning views.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would definitely do it. The cottage is all you can dream of. Better in real than on the photos. I wish we would have stayed much longer (4 nights) as it was such a beautiful and relaxing cottage. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the sun room. The location is great, just a short 15-20 min drive to Shenandoah National Park. The cottage has everything you need and more. And finally, the host Judy has been so accommodating. A big thank you to such a great host. Definitely the place to stay when visiting this part of VA.

Peaceful weekend
The property is exactly as advertised. We found it to be clean, quiet and well stocked. We enjoyed visiting some wineries during the day and a quiet evening at the cottage at night. We would definitely stay here again.

Girls Weekend
We had a delightful time in this cozy and comfortable cottage home. It was very room, with all the different living areas to enjoy. The mountain views surrounding the property are amazing. The small town of Standardsville was delightful. Everyone was so kind. Our meal at the Lafayette Inn was wonderful. We are already talking about our next stay.

Perfect farm cottage
Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Hosts were accommodating by providing basic spices, coffee and eggs in the kitchen. Plenty of towels and lots of space in the house to spread out. Loved seeing the cows in the pastures. Had a wonderful stay at this property,

Amazing Home and Views
This home was exactly as described and more. The owners take excellent care and provides excellent service. It's conveniently located, yet secluded with mountainess views. They provided fresh eggs, and yes they were awesome. We will stay again. Thanks for a great experience.

A slice of heaven
While it is true, as other reviews have suggested, that this fabulous place is a tad off the beaten trail, it is soooooo worth it. The drive through the country to get there was restorative all on its own! Privacy with a view out of every window. Every amenity one could need has been provided. The quiet of the country is soothing, but adventures of every sort are not that far away. In fact, there is a world class pizza place a mere 7 minutes away:) Directions are clear; expectations are detailed in a helpful fashion. We truly want to come again....

A Little Piece of Paradise
My hubby & I really enjoyed “the cottage on the farm”, it was very peaceful & relaxing. It is off the beaten path….Great location…easy to get to. We seen deer, a fox, & we believe a ground hog, not really sure….it did go in a hole!🤣 If you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend this place. Judy has great communication!

This cottage has beautiful views in every direction! The house had everything we needed and more. Most delightful is the sunroom.......we spent PLENTY of time there. It is a quiet, peaceful destination. Great hiking nearby and so much history. Enjoyed everything, highly recommend.

Amazing Place with Gorgeous views
We would recommend this place to anyone. Location is perfect for vineyards and access to Shenandoah National Park. Judy was an amazing host. The place was very well stocked with items for cooking. We had ordered steaks from her farm and they were so delicious, we even took some home. The accommodations made you feel at home. The sun room was our favorite room. It was so peaceful and quiet. Definitely coming back here on our next stay in Virginia!!! Thank you again

Peaceful Retreat
Our stay on the farm was so relaxing. We were able to go into the Shenandoah a couple of times and also visited Monticello. The place was immaculate and we had everything we needed and more while we were there. Definitely plan to return.

Amazing rental property
This was our second stay at Judy's property. We had such a great time the first time, we invited family to join us for our second visit. Once again, Judy was very accommodating, and her cottage was immaculate. We especially enjoyed the breathtaking views of the mountains. We look forward to going again soon.

Rest, relaxation and views!
This was our second trip to South River Farm and it certainly didn’t disappoint! The views are beautiful, mountains and streams galore! The cottage was lovely and very comfortable for our family. We will definitely be back!

Cozy & Relaxing
We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage and wonderful Hosts. The sun room was our favorite spot in the morning to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea from awesome coffee bar. Every area in the house was well stocked left no need for want. Everyone slept comfortably and was well rested. The Yoders

Perfect end to our vacation
We loved staying at this house. We both relaxed out on the enclosed porch, enjoying the view of the rolling hills. It was an amazing (and delicious!) surprise to find farm fresh eggs and homemade banana bread waiting for us in the fridge. We loved ending our vacation at this quiet house on the farm. Highly recommend it!

Absolutely beautiful!
Very beautiful and exceptionally clean farmhouse. The sun porch was an added bonus. The treat of banana bread with chocolate chips was delicious. Farm fresh eggs were also available. The owner gave us contact info., and called us upon our arrival. She respected our privacy and we never saw her. The views from this property are gorgeous! I definitely recommend this cottage/property. It was very quiet and relaxing. The only noise was from the vehicle when the guy came to feed the bulls in the field beside the house in the mornings. It wasn’t loud. I drank my morning tea and watched him feed the bulls. They look like gentle giants. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in a farm setting, with the beautiful mountains all around, I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.
