Horrible Motel vs “resort.” Booked as a mini moon with my husband. Plan to sit by outdoor pool, relax. Didn’t realize EVERYTHING is closed. This includes spa, restaraunt, outdoor pool and bar, there’s nowhere to even sit outside unless you want to sit in broken down chairs in weeds. The rooms have never been anything special. Horrible scratchy sheets. No housekeeping unless you’re there over 3 days. We barely saw any other guests, was like a ghost town. I don’t understand who is giving this dump 5 stars unless you literally live in a tent. For the money you can book much nicer, cleaner hotels with amenities. They even have the audacity to try to charge a “resort fee” to just park in their parking lot. The staff is nice and aware the place is a dump but their hands are tied. Save your hard earned money and book anywhere else

So the overall experience was good staying at stowflake but the condition of the room were not so good. The first room they gave us was not clean properly (the bedsheets had hair on them. I asked for new bedsheets but they offered to change the room that is very kind of them. But later in the other room same thing happened, but I decided not to say anything. Overall cleanliness of the room if you see was alright but the bathroom was not at all clean clean. It had pink mold on the shower curtain as well as on the walls of the bathroom. I decided not say. They really need to up the game in cleanliness. I completely understand that it's an old property but these are basic things. Also nobody told us about the maintenance charges (17 dollars per day) throughout our stay and today during checkout they mentioned the fee to us. Me being me I agreed to it pay it, but my Boyfriend asked them why we were not charged before and no one told us while we were checking in. Also it is not mentioned on the website or Expedia. They said we are working with Expedia to work with this thing and other customers have also complained about this. End of story is we were charged with the fee but we have to email or call them for waiver of the fee. It's not about few dollars, it is about transparency about the policies. I would like to say that staff was amazing five stars for the service. 😀

The facilities are quiet aged - some small corridors had a distinct "old" smell - but they are going through some renovations - its good quality for how much you pay

We have stayed at Stoweflake in April for the past few years. It is becoming a family tradition! We love the accommodations - rooms are quiet, bed are very comfortable, room is spacious for our family of 4. I love the gym and use it daily, and we enjoy racquetball and billiards as a family. Location is easy to access many great dining locations, downtown shopping, and the Recreation path for walks or biking. The resort could use some updates, but it is still a great spot for us. We also enjoy a massage during out stay, but the spa was not in service for a couples massage this year.

We had a nice room even a fireplace. The resort needs some TLC it’s getting older but our room was fine and a great staff! I would stay there again!

The staff was very friendly. The main lobby and fitness area looked nice. The rooms however are very dated, there is lifting wallpaper, cracks in molding, poorly installed floor, and the room smelled odd, like there was a mold issue. Beds are not comfortable at all, feel very cheap. The bedding was nice, the blanket was very soft. No microwave or fridge in room. Television was very small as well. There was a cute coffee shop that was a 5 minute walk. Quick drive to restaurants and grocery store.

The shuttle to Mt. Mansfield is super easy to catch and the walking path links you to South while the sidewalk goes North to restaurants and other shops.

Clean and spacious room. Easy access to Stowe for skiing and into town for dining and shopping. Indoor pool, hot tub and fitness room were clean and well maintained. My son and I also took advantage of the squash court and ping pong in the game room

Pool closes at 9pm. Continental breakfast is terrible. Better food in vending machine. It snowed and we woke up to poorly plowed property. Property is run doen, poorly landscaped. No house keeping only every 3 days. Thats crap.

Hi Joseph, I understand we did not provide the service you should expect when choosing the Stoweflake. We have since upgraded our complimentary continental breakfast and have spoken with our snow removal company. We hope to be able to increase our Housekeeping services soon. The room we booked through Expedia was awful. Big gap when the door was closed letting in sunlight and cold air. Stairs leading to this room were missing pieces, we almost fell down them. Vent in the room was caked with dust. Looked like an abandoned section of the hotel. A very nice employee at the front desk found another room for us and we were happy with that. The attached restaurant was closed and under renovation, which was a disappointment. The game room needs some attention. Other than that, the whole spa/recreation facilities were clean and in good shape. The employees were friendly and in general, it's a very cozy, comfortable place to stay.

The staff was very nice. The hotel is being renovated so spa services were not available and I wasn’t told when I booked through hotels.com. Therefore, I will only book directly moving forward. The hotel needs updating.

We stayed there for 2 nights on a family ski trip (4 adults, 3 kids 10-11 years old) The property is definitely run down but was perfect for what we wanted - 1) a place that wasn’t too precious and where kids can be kids, 2) a space where we could spread out. The rooms were huge ane plenty of common areas to gather in. 3) easy access to the mountain! Every staff member we encountered was super helpful and kind. The pool and hot tub were perfect for the kids. Easy walk to a sandwich shop, pizza place, ski shop, etc. There was no need for an onsite restaurant!

The Snowflake has been bought out by Hyatt Hotels and is in the process of re-furbishment/ re-branding. The Spa, Bar and Restaurant are closed. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We look forward to staying here again when all facilities are available.

When we went to breakfast, there was only some cereal and a few muffins that were sealed in plastic like the ones you see at a service station. Not really what you expect for a continental breakfast.

The first room I was provided was not cleaned. The desk gave me another room it was nice but not connected to the spa or pool so to use the pool or spa I would have to drive there change there and change back And drive back to my room. I did not use either spa or pool and I was charged an extra $51.00 for the resort fee which I had no knowledge of this charge. It was disappointing I had trouble with the door and had to call maintenance 2 xs to get in and then to get out of my room.

As soon as i walked into the room, there was just flith every where. Thank god i had cleaning wipes with me and was able to wipe all surfaces. There was just dust and filth all over. We moved the floor lamp to make some space for luggage and there was literally a stain of flith; meaning, things dont get moved around to clean from under. There is about 5 inches of dust on the vent. Literally the air we breathed while in the room was just bad. Both my husband i got are congested after staying here. The coffe machine looked like it's never been cleaned. The property in general is just in serious need of cleaning and updating. The good thing is that it's in a really good location and it's closed to everything in town.

Terrific People, but the "Resort" is aweful
The gentleman that checked us in on Friday night was outstanding - truly moved mountains to help satisfy us. That was the only positive part of our experience. We had to be moved to two additional rooms. 1. The room we booked said 2 Queen beds. Our first room had 2 full beds and one of the mattresses was disgusting. 2. They moved us to a 1 bedroom suite with pullout bed. At 9:30 when we pull out the couch to go to sleep, it did not have a pull out bed. 3. So they moved us to another suite, this one did have a pull out. However, the thermostat was broken - it was very hot. The room was very musty and everything was very old and rickety. We slept with the A/C on in January in Vermont. Apparently, the "resort" has been sold - hopefully new investors will make the needed improvements. Beautiful site and I'm sure it was magnificent at one time - but there are many other choices in the area - choose another site!

I have Never done a review, and I have stayed in alot of hotels. Stoweflake is supposed to be a destination hotel, it certainly did not feel like it. It's the peak season right now in stowe and a lot of the amenities at the snowflake were non-existent. There was at least three things in the room that needed maintenance, and the carpets in the halls were in pretty bad shape. It felt like it just another rundown hotel which I understand that you can't get a lot of people to work but for a destination spot like this I expected a lot more considering what you pay a night..

Cozy hotel with traditional decor. Fireplaces in the room are a plus. The gym and indoor pool are nice amenities.

There was a fire alarm ringing the first evening for a long period of time and the next morning there was no water in the room. Couldn't flush the toilet, take a shower or even make a cup of coffee. Most outrageously, we were not even informed that there was no water! We had to find out when they couldn't flush the toilet. Called the front desk and they didn’t answer. Went to the desk and asked for the manager and was told that they were not available. Was offered a refund of the facilities charge which is unacceptable.
