I made the mistake of only booking this place for one night. The accommodations were as expected. Karen and Drew did a great job describing the bungalow on their Hotels.com description. They were quick to greet and respond via email. They were accommodating, warm, friendly, and Drew gave me a nice rundown of all that Cape Tribulation and the surrounding areas have to offer. One of the coolest features of this booking is the beach located through some trees directly in front of the bungalow. You get great views of nature including: an island, the rainforest, a mountain peak and an inlet. I’ll be sure to book again.
There’s so many beautiful sights to see. I’d advise booking several days here and a 4X4 so that you can venture further into the rainforest. Daintree Rainforest and it’s beaches have now become my new favorite place in the world. The mix of landscapes—rainforest, mountains, beaches—is truly breathtaking.
The buildings in the Daintree Rainforest are largely dependent on solar power. Go here if you want to experience nature. Put away the phones and tablets—mobile service is extremely limited as is WiFi availability—sit back and enjoy the nature show. Some beach fronts have intermittent service. This is a great place to get off the grid.
Lastly, the drive (RT 44) to Thornton Beach Bungalows from Cairns, is one of the most beautiful scenic drives you’ll ever take with ocean overlooks on your right and rainforests on the left. Bring a camera.
