L'isola è bellissima, molto verde ed estremamente curata. La struttura è bella ed elegante ma riesce ancora a mantenere un romantico "vecchio stile" maldiviano con molte parti comuni che ancora hanno la sabbia al posto del pavimento. L'organizzazione e il personale sono eccellenti. Ricchissimo il buffet dei pasti. Le serate sono molto tranquille al bar con un cocktail e un po' di musica. Per noi che cerchiamo tranquillità, relax e un buon servizio Veligandu è un vero paradiso

Hotel incredibile per passare una vacanza in relax
Hotel esclusivamente per coppie (i minori e quindi le famiglie non sono accettati). Abbiamo trascorso la nostra luna di miele dal 17 al 25 luglio. Eravamo preoccupati per il clima vista la stagione delle piogge ma a parte due forti acquazzoni che ci hanno tolto solo qualche ora dalla nostra incredibile vacanza, è andato tutto bene. Abbiamo scelto la formula dell'all inclusive, che vi consiglio. È un buon all inclusive, anche il frigo bar della stanza è incluso. Le bevande non incluse (come super alcolici, vini particolari, champagne, ecc) sono ben indicate. Ottima anche la qualità del ristorante che ha anche angolo bbq con pesce fresco. Non consiglio, invece, il ristorante a pagamento escluso dall'all inclusive: proponevano una cena particolare a base di aragoste al tramonto. L'angolo è un vero paradiso, ma la cena non è stata all'altezza delle nostre aspettative. La stanza è meravigliosa, spaziosa. La pulizia e la ricarica del frigo bar viene fatta due volte al giorno. Abbiamo provato più volte la SPA che consiglio: ha dei costi sostenuti ma è da provare. Da subacqueo esperto mi sono portato l'attrezzatura e ho provato il Diving Center: personale altamente qualificato, il diving è veramente un 5 stelle PADI. Nota dolente, le immersioni costano tanto...troppo! Ho fatto in totale 7 immersioni usufruendo di un pacchetto, ma comunque, con tutta l'attrezzatura completa mia personale, ho pagato circa 80 dollari a immersione. Pare sia un prezzo allineato con gli altri Resort.

The information is, indeed, explained upon our guests’ arrival and included in welcome packs and in-room directories. I do regret to read that we have not met all of your expectations, especially regarding our special Beach Dinners. Our Executive Chef, Siegbert Horn and his team do aim to cater to our guests’ needs and varying tastes, and are more than happy to accommodate special dietary requests. “Il paradiso all'improvviso”
La nostra prima esperienza alle Maldive è stata fantastica. L'isola è di piccole dimensioni, ha una spiaggia bianchissima ed un mare stupendo con tantissime sfumature di turchese che si perdono a vista d'occhio. Abbiamo soggiornato in una overwater con jacuzzi, il panorama dalla stanza era impagabile, privacy e tranquillità hanno poi completato questo magnifico soggiorno. Lo staff è stato sempre disponibile ed estremamente cortese anche durante le 2 escursioni che abbiamo fatto. Il ristorante offre una varietà incredibile di piatti sempre freschi e diversi ogni giorno, lo chef è sempre attento e presente in sala. Sarebbe molto difficile trovare qualcosa di negativo in questa vacanza, persino i 3 giorni di brutto tempo con pioggia non sono risultati noiosi, ci siamo rilassati sui comodi divani disponibili al bar con la costante attenzione del personale sempre pronto e disponibile. Sicuramente, se sarà possibile, ripeteremo questa bellissima vacanza.

Il paradiso
Ci sono posti belli e posti graziosi, il Veligando appartiene ad un'altra categoria: eccellente. Non posso dire che sia economico (soprattutto sugli extra) ma l'attenzione agli ospiti è davvero impareggiabile. La stanza (iacuzzi water villa) era davvero fantastica: una scaletta e sei subito in acqua senza la necessità di andare in spiaggia!! Consigliatissimo soprattutto per coppie, location romantiche a non finire!!

I should've been did this review in Sept 2021 when went for our honeymoon Rm 262. I seem to can't get this place out of my head and want to go back. Hands down from beginning to end, the staff met every need and made sure we were good. They were excellent! Very welcoming and friendly. The food was really good and our over water villa was beautiful. I heard they are doing some renovations. When it's complete we will definitely revisit.

I do not usually write reviews however Veligandu is an absolute gem! The island is breathtaking, the staff and service feels so personalised, the food is amazing and the weather unbelievable! My girlfriend and I are talking about our stay everyday since we got back. The island has everything to offer, we had quite relaxed days on the beach, incredible snorkelling with turtles and reef sharks to great party nights at the hotels bar. We cannot wait to go back next year although we will have to wait until after the renovations.

The location was lovely , beaches and Island verdure were also fabulous . We stayed in a water bungalow which was clean and spacious on the west ,sea ward , side of the Island. It benefitted from the sea breeze and sunsets . The food was excellent , buffet style , of a good quality and varied . Staff were obliging , obviously trained to be so . The sea plane transfer is an added cost (£650) and we had to wait 90 min for arriving passengers from other destinations to fill it before it would leave . This was irritating after travelling for 16 hours . The resort is dated and tired and does need an upgrade which is apparently happening shortly.

I love this resort. Worth the 18 hr flight from Toronto. Seaplane transfer was hassle-free. I booked an over the water villa (with a hot tub with a view of the ocean), full board (3 meals at buffet), no alcohol or drinks (except for coffee and whatever juice they have at the time). Each mango juice costed me $4 US a pop. Items in mini bar not included. Items, like souvenirs, you buy get charged to the room. I loved the over the water villa. So private and there were stairs out to the water (low tide in the am, high in the pm). There were crabs all the time on the deck (one and a couple on the steps). They try to avoid you. Transformer was provided, AC, TV. Far walk but it's what you get if you want seclusion. Island is so small though (love it). Food at Dhonveli and wi-fi were great. I really only need those two things to be happy. I didn't see too much seafood, but I don't like those anyway. From your deck, you can snorkel and see plenty of different varities of fish. Saw a shark and a couple of sting rays from my deck. Staff is warm and helpful. I travelled on my own and felt really safe. I could leave my phone/wallet at my table with no concerns at Dhonveli. Resort-specific stuff: Bring your own plastic bag for wet clothes. Resort tries to be environmentally conscious so no plastic bags available. Don't bring shoes you don't want to get sand in. I had a really special experience and plan on going back next year but maybe in April instead of May.

Wow, we went here for our 30th anniversary and we were not disappointed! Veligandu is absolutely amazing. The word paradise is often over used, but it is a truly fitting description. Everything was perfect; the staff, the services, the amenities, the facilities, the food, the atmosphere and the romance. It is a picture right out of a travel magazine. A fabulous resort what more could you ask for in a vacation! Overwater bungalow, fantastic reef full of fish and coral made for great snorkeling and scuba diving. Good food and drinks! This resort sets the standard for a great Maldives vacation. From the moment we landed the staff were so kind and helpful I have nothing but good things to say about Veligandu Island Resort.

Melhor hotel
O hotel é sensacional em todos os sentidos. Ficamos 6 dias em sistema all inclusive e todos os dias as refeições eram diferentes e muito boas. Ficamos no bangalôs sobre a água com vista para o por do sol e foi maravilhoso, acordar com vista para aquele mar é inesquecível. Os funcionários todos prestativos, com arrumação de quarto de manhã e de noite antes de dormir. A vida marinha é muito rica, vimos tubarões, arraias, tartarugas passando em frente ao bangalô. Quase perfeito
O Resort realmente faz jus às suas ótimas avaliações. O quarto (Sunset Overwater Villa), arrumado pela manhã e à noite, é enorme e possibilita acesso direto ao mar. A roupa de cama é nova e macia e o chuveiro é bem forte. Há muitas atividades para se fazer, embora todas pagas à parte, à exceção da piscina. A qualidade da comida servida no buffet é excelente e muda a cada dia. Os únicos pontos negativos foram o lounge de chegada às Maldivas, que é compartilhado com outros hotéis e é muito fraco, somente servindo água, refrigerante e café, e a organização do traslado de volta da ilha até o aeroporto de Malé, que, se eu não tivesse pedido para trocar para um horário mais cedo, teria resultado na perda do voo internacional, dado o atraso da companhia aérea local (TWA) na saída do hotel. Nao fosse isso, teria sido perfeito. Em todo caso, recomendo o hotel e voltaria com certeza!

The island is a good size. There were times we were out on the beach by ourselves. It's almost like a private island! This is if you go during the rainy season though (which isn't that rainy). I'm sure the peak season is busier. My only complaint is that the beds are not that comfortable. Was expecting better. I give it 4 of 5 stars.

The island host Naaif was VERY helpful and booked all of our excursions within a couple of minutes and accommodated all of our needs and requirements.

Excellent Maldives Resort Hotel
An unforgettable vacation! A great island with all the amenities for a great holiday. Courteous and helpful staff. Well organized transfer from Valena airport. Cleanliness, comfort, entertainment are all top notch. A rich selection of delicious dishes. Interesting entertaining evening activities. Every minute of our stay was wonderful! Also a pleasant surprise was organized for us on the anniversary. House reef was rich of corales and fishes (including sharks, turtles, murenas and many vore other). Thanks to all staff of the Resort! Special thanks the Oceanic Dive Center! And Special thanks to Katerina!

Paradis sur terre ! Je ne peux pas décrire à quel point c’est magnifique ! C’était ma première fois aux maldive et je pense j’ai trouvé mon hôtel, service au top, le personnel très très serviable ! Je veux mentionner Imran qui a été la personne grâce à qui mon séjour a été encore plus magnifique, je veux lui remercier personnellement. Il m’a fait découvrir la vie sous marine de maldive La nourriture au top .. j’ai pu voir des tortues requins tout … la plage est magnifique et rien à dire pour la propreté ! Le personnel est très très gentil ! Une de mes meilleures vacances Je recommande a 100000 %

Lugar incrível, natureza deslumbrante .. vale cada segundo. Recomendo o all inclusive .. mesmo não bebendo, os valores das bebidas, sucos e refrigerantes fica caro para os brasileiros. Portanto mesmo as pessoas que não bebem, compensa pegar o all-inclusive, que contempla além da alimentação as atividades e passeios, como mergulho e outros. Tbem vale a pena reservar parte da estadia nos quartos mais baratos e fazer upgrade no próprio hotel, que sai um preço diferenciado. Importantíssimo. 5 diárias é mais que suficiente .. peguei 7 dias, e já estava entediado.

Perfect Stay
Our 6 Day stay at Veligandu Island Resort and Spa was perfect in every way. From all the transfer arrangements seamlessly handled by the resort staff, to the welcome and double upgrade we received, to the meals and facilities... everything was wonderful.

This place is PERFECT!!! Beautiful, peaceful, the perfect vacation. The food is excellent, and you can't beat the incredible snorkeling on the house reef. The best snorkeling we saw in the Maldives, right there on our own resort!

Lugar especial.
O hotel tem uma grande vida marinha, uma paz incrível, muito espaço bonito e bem cuidado, equipe de jardinagem está de parabéns, assim como o funcionário do buffet Aruna Shantha, que fazia de tudo para atender as particularidades alimentares de cada hóspede, com muita simpatia, educação e precisão nas informações sobre os pratos servidos, a Mireia por falar vários idiomas e ser muito perspicaz e estar sempre disponível para dar informações precisas e interessantes, além de ser muito simpática, as reclamações são sobre as comidas em sua grande maioria levar curry e pimenta, deixando praticamente tudo com esse mesmo gosto, e quanto a recepção não possuir ar condicionado, fazendo um calor quase que insuportável, sendo da mesma forma o local de embarque no hidroavião fazendo o hóspede suar muito antes do voo.

Loved the attention to detail. Everyone made us feel more than welcome; treated us like family. Food was good, over the water sunset villa was beyond amazing. Housekeeping was perfect. Thanks to our host Nabeel and also staff, like Nafees, Azam, Adam, Jaa that made our stay beyond exceptional. We will return!
