far from the town centre
the most bad hotel i see in my life and the location is really bad and all the people around the hotel they are drank and drags its really scary place. and the tolite is leaking water at room after use a shower :(

delusione totale
Bella struttura (con i suoi difetti) ma pessimo servizio. Camera superior sita al terzo piano senza ascensore (un piacere trasportare le valigie). Minibar vuoto (una birra soltanto) e non funzionante. Ciabatte mancanti. Reception vuota e dalle 18.30 chiusa proprio. Area wellness (se così si può definire) è fuori dall'albergo ed è attiva solo su prenotazione. Che dire?! C'è di meglio!

Nothing Special
Beautiful building and grounds but felt somewhat soulless. The room was disappointing for a superior room and cost. I think we wrongly interpreted several of the room photos to be of a superior room which they are evidently not. If you want a historic venue, fancy restaurant and prepared to pay a high price for a mediocre room go for it!

Friendly staff. The room was very well insulated and quiet, there was a wedding party that day, and we couldn’t hear anything from outside. The decor is more Protestant than Vatican opulent, which I prefer and feels more native to the region. I recommend getting dinner at Mayer’s but be prepared, it’s a 3 hour event.

A beautiful country retreat
The “Schloss” was run by a very professional team. Thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay in an historic property situated in beautiful and peaceful countryside. We did not have a car so it was necessary to book taxis as property several minutes walk from nearest town/restaurant. One comment that I feel is relative - do try and ascertain your guests’ expectations and abilities. Our room was on third floor (no lifts) due to age of property etc. one of us was 87 and we, because we can, walked up and down the quite steep stairs 3-4 times a day . We were offered accommodation on lower level when we arrived!! We looked upon it as “exercise”. !! You are sure to enjoy this delightful property in an oasis of beautiful and peaceful countryside. Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine. Thank you (especially Mickey)....

Perfektes Geburtstagswochenende
Obwohl wir bereits am Vormittag angereist sind, wurden wir äußerst freundlich empfangen und durften bereits unser geräumiges Zimmer beziehen. Die Damen waren sehr kompetent bei der Empfehlung für die geplante Wanderung. Das Schloß ist sehr gepflegt mit einem hohen Wohlfühlfaktor. Das Personal ist kompetent, freundlich, interessiert und umsichtig. Zum Frühstück gibt es alles, was das Herz begehrt. Was nicht am Buffet vorhanden ist, wird in der Küche frisch zubereitet. Die Lage ist einfach herrlich ruhig, nur eine Gehminute vom See entfernt, eingebettet in einem sehr gepflegten Park. In wenigen Gehminuten hat man den Ort Zell am See erreicht.

Private, cozy getaway
My wife and I and our doggy stayed at the Fischerhaus for three nights. We loved the privacy and seclusion that the Fischerhaus (cabin/cottage) offers—a true getaway. Did I mention an entire lake to ourselves? Also, heated floors are my new favorite thing. Despite being separate from the main Schloss (castle), housekeeping took excellent care of our room without intruding on our privacy. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. Overall, the stay was fantastic for all three of us. Highly recommend staying at this property; especially at the Fischerhaus.

Amazing experience at the castle! The territory is beautiful, its not located far from the city center but is very quiet - just what we needed during our vacation. The owner - Anette, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The highlight of this was her driving me to the train station herself on the day when we could not find any taxis available. I stayed in the room 32 which was one of the most beautiful rooms I ever got to stay in. The breakfast had everything we needed with fresh warm bread available every day. There is a sauna on premises which is great after active skiing. I'd definitely recommend Schloss Prielau!

Charming innkeeper (Annette). Great location for a peaceful & quiet stay. Beautifully appointed rooms. I wish the restaurant would have been open (closed MON-TUE, but nothing on hotels.com indicated that).

Fantastic place. Beautiful hotel with charm like few others we have been in. Great breakfast. If we were to come back to Zell, this would be the place to stay again. Nothing to do with the hotel, however, the town of Zell has changed a lot.

Schönes Schloss, schwaches Service
An und für sich ein wunderschönes Schloss, das Mädchen an der Rezeption interessiert sich allerdings mehr für sein Handy als für den Gast. Da es keinen Lift gibt sind die Zimmer im 3. Stock keine gute Wahl. Zimmer sind schön. Der Privatstrand wirkt vernachlässigt und es gibt nur vier Liegen. Schade, auf der Homepage hatte alles einen perfekten Eindruck gemacht. Es gibt in der Gegend viele Hotels mit einem besseren Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

We had the 2 bedroom suite for 1 night traveling through Bavaria. The property was beautiful with lots of charm. The beds were very comfy and the bathroom was very nice. Loved the decor of the hotel. Very short walk to the lake and pretty walk to the main area of Zell Am See where all the restaurants and shops are. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. While it did not bother us, I'll warn you that there is no elevator in the hotel so bags will need to be carried up to upper floors. There is no one hanging out at the front desk past 5 or 6 pm, but they could be reached by phone if needed. We did not have any meals at the hotel, so can't comment on that. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay in Zell Am See!

Dear Ami, thank you very much for your nice comment on our place. Our rooms were totally renovated last November and the beds you stayed in are the best you can get in the market. The reception is occupied until 7 o'clock but the staff is on the opposite side in the restauant at least until 12 at night. over the Gross Glockner and down to Heaven.
we were on a driving tour of Europe and selected this hotel from the photographs on their website and its location being situated between our departure that day, Venice, and our destination, Munich. What a piece of luck! what a fabulous place, with its own church and, the best bit, an amazing restaurant!! Ros and i loved it and the hosts could not be more welcoming. lovely people. we will try and return again some day.

Romantik Schlosshotel
Wir haben wunderbare Tage mit Schifahren, Spabesuch und Spazierengehen mit unserer kleinen Tochter in diesem kleinen, historischen Romantikschlösschen verbracht. Die Betreuung ist äußerst persönlich, zuvorkommend und auf allerhöchstem Niveau. Unser Abendessen in Mayer‘s ausgezeichnetem Gourmetrestaurant war nicht nur qualitativ dem Ruf entsprechend, sondern auch unsere 3-jährige Tochter wurde wie eine kleine Prinzessin behandelt wofür sich das liebenswürdige Team zumindest 4-Kindersterne verdiente und uns den Stress nahm und einen unvergesslichen Abend bescherte! Danke!

Schlösschen mit 2-Sterne-küche
Das Schloss Prielau ist mit Navi leicht auffindbar und liegt sehr ruhig. Der Ort Zell am See ist per Fuss erreichbar. Das Schlosszimmer war aus unserer Sicht sehr sauber und komfortabel. Das Frühstücksbuffet war mehr als ausreichend; frische Brötchen, ausreichende Auswahl an Honig, Wurst und Käse usw.. Sonderwünsche wie Rühreier, Espressi wurden ebenso erfüllt. Beim Hotel befindet sich das Restaurant "Meyer's", welches mit einer 2-Sterne-Küche ausgezeichnet ist. Über die ausgezeichnete Qualität der Küche konnten wir uns selbst überzeugen und es war ein Erlebnis, sowohl von den Servicekräften und Speiseangebot.

pěkné romantické prostředí, blízko Zell am See, pohodlné velké apartmány, služba ale slabá, na recepci nebyl při našem příjezdu nikdo, při vysoké ceně očekáváme dobrý servis - vždy k dispozici, rychle a se zájmem, líbila se nám sauna, ale chyběla voda, předchozí pár ji vypil a nová se již neobjevila

Lieber Gast, vielen Dank für die Bewertung unseres Hauses. Leider war unsere Mitarbeiterin bei Ihrer Ankunft dabei einen anderen Gast bei der Anreise zu begleiten. Wir sind ein kleines Haus mit nur 12 ZImmern. Daher kann es mal passieren, dass die Mitarbeiterin kurz nicht an der Rezeption ist, da diese nur mit einem Mitarbeiter besetzt ist. Das Sie warten mußten tut uns wirklich leid und wir bedanken uns für den Kommentar dazu. Amazing Hotel!
This hotel was magical! It felt we were stepping back in time but with all the modern comforts we could want! The room was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The hotel staff was very nice and knowledgeable and the spa was perfect to relax in! We also ate at the Mayers restaurant which was an amazing experience! We will definitely be back again!

Das Hotel ist ein Kleinod außerhalb des Touristentrubels. Bei einem Zwischenstopp konnten wir die Sterne-Küche nicht testen. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Ein individuelles Hotel mit besonderer Atmosphäre !

Charming property but simple rooms
The property is charming and well-located. However, there is no elevator or air-conditioning. The room was small. The room description was misleading: "Layout - Separate living room" -- I believed there would be a bedroom and a separate living room, i.e. two rooms. But the living room was a common, shared space outside the hotel room.

Hotel en dehorsdu centre mais plein de charme
Nous étions surpris au départ car un autre établissement du même nom est dans le center ville et nous pensions être à 3min à pied de la gare (selon google maps). L'hôtel est en fait à 35min de marche mais l'arrêt de bus est directement à l'entrée et les environs sont charmants. Le personnel est agréable, la responsable est toujours prête à aider et la chambre est parfaite. Il n'y manquait qu'on bain bulles!

Mooi hotel rustig gelegen
Mooi rustig hotel wel wat ver van het dorpje Zell am See, te lang om te wandelen. In directe nabijheid geen voorzieningen behalve het twee sterren restaurant Mayer. Het hotel heeft geen lift en dat is wel jammer als je met koffers en al naar de derde verdieping moet. Erg goed ontbijt, zeer schone kamers en mooi badhuis met sauna en stoombad die goed op temperatuur zijn.

We had a great stay at the hotel. Very nice and kind staff. Great location. To wake up in such surrounding ... what a treat! Breakfast was delicious! Only down side is that restaurant closes very early. We called hotel and announced our arrival time and still could not get any warm food at 21:00 ... Pity, hotel at this level could consider making an exception. Other than that ... We can only recommend. Hope to back soon.

Fantastiskt hotell vid sjukt vackra zell am see. Vi stannade till för övernattning under bilsemester. Fint bemötandr och fantastiska rum. Rekommenderas varmt.

Ensimmäinen yöpyminen linnassa teki kokemuksesta erityisen, huoneet siistejä ja tilavia, myöskin henkilö kunta avuliasta, välillä kumminkin vaikein tavoitetavissa, reception oli paljon tyhjillään!!! Zell Am seen keskustaan n. 4 km johon taksi maksoi n. 10 € ja Ski bussi pysäkki n. 400 -500 m päässä.

Beautiful hotel.
Relaxing trip. The area is quiet which we loved. It can be a little inconvenient if you don't drive because it's located quite far away from Zell am See center. But it's also a paradise away from all the noise. There are deers in the backyard. Magnificent lake view. We also loved the steam room. Went there to relax every night after skiing/hiking. Breakfast is small and traditional. But it's all fresh. Room windows need to be repaired though. They looked fragile. We tried to open them but those creaking sounds were scary.

Great Schloss
We stayed just one night, the hotel is beautiful , stylish, a perfect blend of antique and modern, furnishings . A totally special weekend in luxury, probably the most comfortable you can be in a 16 century castle. The rooms felt warm and cozy despite being spacious, even though it was freezing outside. ln a lovely quiet and secluded location yet near enough to Zell am See. Fantastic room, with a great additional temporary bed for our 7 year old. Nespresso machine lovely touch. Staff were polite but welcoming and friendly. Loved the traditional Austrian furnishings and kachelofen!

Standard-huone olikin reilunkokoinen makuuhuone ja olohuone! Loistava palvelu, hyvä aamiainen, hyvä "linnaravintola". Erillisessä rakennuksessa aivan vieressä yksi Itävallan parhaista ravintoloista - rankattu parhaaksikin usein, 2 Michelin-tähteä, silti kohtuuhintainen. Unohtumattoman hyvä jouluaattoillallinen! Hissin puutekaan ei haitannut tässä miltei 600 vuotta vanhassa linnassa, vaikka asuttiin ylimmässä kerroksessa (henkilökunta kantoi matkalaukut huoneeseen!). Joustavaa, ystävällistä, luksusluokan palvelua ja upea tunnelma! Mitä suurimmassa määrin suositeltava kokonaisuudessaan!

A Highlight of Our Austria Trip
Hotel accommodation was excellent. Schloss has unique historic/hunting lodge character. Rooms are very nicely decorated, each with a different theme. Schloss is located in charming country-like surroundings near lake with panoramic view of mountains. Room was clean and bathroom was very modern. We unfortunately were not able to make use of the spa or eat breakfast there due to our busy travel schedule. (Spa and breakfast looked great) This accommodation was one of highlights of our trip to Austria. We would definitely return to Schloss Prielau if we travel again to Austria.
