"This hotel has an amazing location!! Close to everything and the staff were very helpful calling cabs, giving directions or helping you use the trolley or bus system. The rooms are just standard hotel rooms, nothing special or different. However the ice machines did not work on multiple floors, for whatever reason the rooms on our floor were never cleaned until we asked about it on day #4. The air conditioning would randomly go out then come back on so you were either freezing or burning up. When this was mentioned they literally ignored it. I booked a room including the "resort $25 per day option for the perks" when I get there I get 3/4 of the perks and when I question it the front desk clerk acted like I owed her something for asking why I was being denied the additional perk. I had to loop in the manager and he just passed the buck saying it was expedia's fault. No sir, it was not - your desk clerks messed up and need to own up to it. I paid the hotel directly. Also this hotel has quite a bit of homeless that sleep in the area so if you are out extra early or late - they are in several of the doorways."

"House was conveniently located to the trolley to get around the city. Only ran into a couple other guests during our stay, and no complaints there as everything was quiet. "

"The pool was closed due to a glass breakage. The staff were friendly and did their best to address the issue. It would be nice if coffee were offered in the morning, or some other modest compensation for the loss of use of the pool. The restoration of the midcentury building and the courtyard garden is of high quality. "

"Just what we needed and location was great! My elderly mother couldn’t climb the stairs so the bed downstairs by the living room was perfect! The beds were comfortable, house well stocked and I felt safe In the neighborhood which was my priority. "

"The Laurel is a gem in a perfect New Orleans setting. One of my favorite stays ever. The guest suite is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Laura is a gracious, welcoming, attentive hostess. I loved walking to Bayou St. John and being just a few blocks from the gorgeous live oaks in City Park with its Sculpture Garden, coffee and beignet, Art Museum. And there are several great restaurants in easy walking distance. A perfect perch for enjoying the best of New Orleans."
