Great little place right on the lake

Wonderful little place on Lake Michigan. Great views and good restaurants in the area. The wood stove was nice on a cool, late spring stay.

It felt more like a rented room than a vacation rental; however, the hosts were so kind, the location is beautiful, and I'd come back just to walk the beach again.

Great view, location and vibe!

My wife and I loved our stay here. The spectacular view and sunsets will never be forgotten. The proximity to shopping, local restaurants and hikes was great. We highly recommend.

Everything was nicer than stated. The view was beautiful from both inside (2 large picture windows) and outside. Very peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely go back again.

Great place to stay for our fall color drive

We totally enjoyed staying at Gary & Shirley's place. They were hospitable and the place was clean and beautiful right on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed walks on the beach, sitting around the fire at night, and driving to TC. Thank you for sharing this wonderful get-a-way place!

Shirley and her husband were kind and left us to enjoy the property in peace. They were responsive and the property was super cute with a beautiful view! Would definitely visit again.

Great fall getaway!

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary trip at this location. There are plenty of activities to do local. Owners are friendly and quick to respond to any questions. I would recommend this for any couple trying to get a short getaway.

Access to the beach was phenomenal. The accommodations were underwhelming. Bathroom sink was clogged with food, the outdoor shower was not connected to a source of water, and we could hear the residents personal conversations through the walls.

Beautiful setting right above the beach. Only issue was upon check-in the room felt and smelled musty. Opening windows and running ceiling fans helped a lot. Nice owners live in adjacent part of home. Wonderful location with lots to experience in the area. Saw 3 bald eagles.

It was just a fantastic time!

We had the best time here. The hosts we very friendly & accommodating. The view of Lake Michigan is amazing and just a few steps down to the beach. We walked the beach collecting unique stones, went into Downtown Manistee ate and saw a movie at a very charming movie theatre. Just the best time. We'll be back!

Not having a kitchen area took a little getting used to... but by the 2nd day we pretty much figured out how to operate things and life was just fine :) Shirley and Gary were great hosts. The view was breathtaking. Look forward to staying with them again next June.

Short getaway

View of Lake Michigan was awesome, sunsets were beautiful. Owners were friendly and accommodating. Room did have a slightly musty smell and the hair dryer does need to be replaced, but overall we were not disappointed.

Relaxing!

The owners were kind enough to help us with rebooking twice! And it was worth the effort. We enjoyed having direct access to Lake Michigan for long walks along the beach as well as quiet evenings on the deck serenaded by wind & waves. Can’t wait to return!

peaceful getaway with fantastic views

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay here on the way up north to a family wedding. We had a fabulous time walking the beach and swimming in the lake. The cottage is situated in a very quiet and relaxing setting, and it felt like we had our own private beach space to play and enjoy. Owners were kind and helpful. Spectacular sunsets and views!!!
