It was lovely and warm, very nicely decorated and cosy.The shower was good and powerful, plenty of nice quality towels too. Great location for access to walks in the National Park (we did the Trespass Walk over Kinder Scout).Very good value, lovely cottage, would definitely recommend.”

“Loved Torr Top Place! As a solo older lady who wanted to visit Manchester’s Christmas markets, this was a perfect base. The kitchen was well equipped, sitting room cozy, bathroom modern, and everything immaculate. Uber transport was readily available and Sainsbury’s (local grocer) was a short walk away. I highly recommend Torr Top Place!”

“Bed was broken, one shower’s hot water didn’t work, main water heater didn’t work, one room was too small for the closet/cabinet to even open, minimal towels available, no shampoo or bath soap, and grass and weeks were almost two feet tall. Host was generally responsive but this way too much to deal with on a short stay.”

“Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume.
