“Lovely welcome on arrival. Rooms were dark inside which was fine for us but could imagine it might be a problem for some. Vanity mirror with lights attached didnt work, and when reported (more to report that we didnt break it, rather than get it fixed) reception was uninterested. Brilliant shower - possibly the best ive used in a hotel. No coffee machine as described but there was a kettle. When we went to get a drink on the rooftop we were welcomed in but not told that last orders was imminent...

“Building and rooms a little tired. No air conditioning and when asked receiption about the loud banging noise in the air circulation unit was just told to turn it off! Room didn’t have the water that should have been provided as part of the room, however when questioned this was provided without question. Cleaner never came but again reception sorted for us. “The staffs were amazingly friendly. The room was clean and well supplied. We asked for extra pillows and towels with no issues. Within 10 minutes walk from the York train station. Easy access to tourist hotspots and fantastic eateries. Great breakfast. My only comment is that i wish the menu for breakfast change every a couple of days.”
