“Lack of staff meant being locked out of our room as the keycard battery died. The young lady on reception tried her best but for some reason the spares are kept in a locked safe by the manager. She was busy and didn’t seem to care whilst she tended to an almost empty restaurant.”

“Really disappointed with the property. It could be so lovely as the surroundings are really beautiful. Room is outdated and grubby. Surfaces and floors were sticky. We had no hot water to shower in the morning and mentioned it at check out only to be told it had been rectified, but at that point it was to late as we were checking out. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. ”

“We had a warm welcome on the evening of our arrival and shown to a ground floor room accessible for my mum who has mobility problems and no sight - just as I had requested. It was clean, comfortable and perfectly suited to her needs. The wet room and shower chair was particularly helpful. “Lovely quirky old hotel but bathroom layout poor, could do with removing bath and putting a shower only, it would be much safer. Reception lady at 2pm was very abrupt and just said “check in not till 3” we only wanted to let her know we had parked in the patrons only car park. Breakfast staff and checking out lady, lovely.”
