“The reviews that complained about this place must have been nothing but straight up haters! My first "outing" after cancer treatment and the hotel was amazing... the front desk were courteous and house keeping even was nice to my grand son that came with wife and I. If there was a complaint , it would be ppl that had no business parking in handicap parking were parked in assigned spots most of weekend...management should check that occasionally as sometimes it was hard for me to get though...

“Passing thru Des Moines and just needed a place to sleep. Looking online and saw they had rooms for $106. Got 2 rooms and WOW! The rooms were huge, exceptionally clean, great beds and pillows plus the view was awesome! Will definitely stay again.”

“Lovely hotel in downtown Des Moines. I stayed for the Des Moines half marathon, and the hotel was a block from the finish line. An added benefit was the Saturday farmer's market a block from the hotel!”

“Honestly all I have to say is the breakfast could have been a bit better. The pastries were a bit hard, and the coffee was not great aside from that no complaints!”

“Breakfast was good, staff was helpful. Room was pretty clean. Bed was creaky. Access to car park across the street was spotty, as card scanner to open gate did not function reliably. It was nice to stay downtown with good places to eat in walking distance.”

“So many problems. The parking lot being closed for over a year is absolutely unacceptable, especially for the handicapped. Guest are to park in the hospital parking lot and walk at least a quarter mile with all of their luggage just to check in. With the number of transients, horrible lighting, and lack of care from staff, safety is compromised for guests. Rooms are severely outdated with peeling wallpaper and mold. Thermostats in the rooms do not work and are just there for show because...

“Quick trip to Des Moines for a fancy dinner and a trip to the zoo. Clean, modern room and a very helpful front desk. Spent more on dinner than the room. 14th Street is busy, and you may need to do turnaround off a side street, but you can get to just about anything you need from there without much travel.”

“The only that I liked about the hotel was that the bed was comfortable. The rooms had that damp moldy smell to them. The pictures were misleading from the website. They need to update the rooms. The bathroom had dirty tile and there was someone’s fingernail still in the floor. I won’t stay here again and I will not recommend this hotel to any friends. The staff were great and friendly tho.”
