“The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!”

“Building held together with glue. Huge carpet holes - tripping hazard in hall. Strong mold/fungus odor in room - owner obviously knew because there was a dehumidifier sitting on the floor. Bathroom door stuck closed with loose handle and hinges- had to lift the door up to open. Parking lot too small - had to park in adjacent liquor store lot. Staff was pleasant and free coffee station was nice”

“Granted this was UGA graduation weekend and demand was high- the price we paid for our rooms was a little out of whack for what you get. Everything is pretty dated and not that nice. Room had a busted toilet paper and towel rack, bed sheet had stain on it. There’s only one elevator that goes to upper floors which doesn’t work well with high occupancy.
