“We’ve been staying at Grant Hills for years. The rooms aren’t fancy, though are very clean and comfortable. We like the option to bring our pups with if we choose. The cost of a two night stay is many times less than one night in other Galena hotels. It’s always very quiet and there is a walking path not far away. ”

“The pool was icy cold. The shower was a just little bit warm almost cold. Foam plates are not acceptable for hot breakfast food. The door key worked after 5-8 attempts. Breakfast didn’t have any meat. The room didn’t have closet or hangers for jackets.”

“Our room was very not clean. Chips by the bed frame’and the glass on the art work was very dirty and pretty gross. The artwork in the hall was also in very badly need of being cleaned. The edges of our room were dusty and desperately needed some extra attention. The shower was very nice. It did have a little corner shelf that was rusty and falling down. “Our room was very clean and had lots of tv channels. Staff were friendly. Hot breakfast was good and staff quickly replaced empty items. The waterpark is smaller and good for kids under 12. There are a couple days of things for families to do within 20 minutes - river museum, incline elevator, caves and Galena, Illinois. We were there on 5 dollar public entry day and the wait for an inner tube for the waterslide was too long. This was not an issue the last time we were there on a regular...

“The room was clean and nice. Breakfast was lacking. The hot tub was cold. I let staff know and they didn’t do anything about it. I called down a few hours later and a different staff person had it taken care of in 10 minutes. Too late by then to use it. ”

They were experiencing technical difficulties because a storm took out the phone and internet, so they didn’t know if rooms were reserved, already rented, or available.
