“The room was very clean and had an extensive hot breakfast. Hot tub in the pool area was a bonus.”

“Okay place to spend a night but don’t expect any service. This place uses remote “staff” to run the joint. I called the “desk” around 6:30 pm with a request. Got a call back around noon the next day, when we were well on our way. No soaps, no shower cap. Only plus was an urn of good coffee in the otherwise empty lobby. Not much for $160 or so.”

“The property is very quaint and very quiet. It is more like an AirBnB or VRBO than a typical hotel. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and the only amenity they didn’t have that we could have used is a mini-fridge. The attached restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, but there are restaurants and grocers within a 10 minute drive. We will definitely stay here again.”

“I'm house-hunting in Hudson, so my wife and I have stayed in a few other hotels and B&Bs there. However, one night in Pocketbook and I'll definitely continue booking there. I don't understand the complaints about the noise or rude staff, becauee we experienced the exact opposite. The staff were warm & welcoming, and very friendly. Overnight, it was peaceful and quiet. As we tried to follow the unhelpful directions to room 230 offered by an impatient clerk, we approached a crumbling cement stairwell where a huge pile of vomit was gathering flies. A foot away, a broken shopping cart filled with garbage, including a hauntingly broken infant carseat, blocked the passage.
