“ci vuole fortuna - Got to be lucky”
Ho provato 3 appartamenti Staydublin. Tried 3 apartments. Only the first was good. The second had a biler that roared like a jet engine every time one turned the taps. Automatic reception not dependable. Poor assistance. Noisy locations. I wouldn't recommend it. It is good only if you are lucky to get the best apartments, the right number to get the key from the automatic safe and no blackouts. Not up to Expedia standards.
“very good would stay again”
very good hotel, clean ,plenty of room, very affordable, close city centre, would stay their any time
“Like a Dungeon”
The apartment itself was very nice; clean, big, etc. But the problems? It is an apartment meant for 7 people and they only give you one set of keys. The buzzers don't work, but even if they did, there are 3 doors that need to be unlocked to get into the apartment. While this might seem like a minor problem, it was impossible to figure out ways to make sure people could get into the apartment again. We literally had to keep a window open at all times so that when someone returned they could scream to us in our apartment. End result? Someone had to constantly be in the apartment. Also, the shower only had enough hot water for 2 showers (in an apt. for 7 people). They advertise as having free internet, but the internet never worked.
“not good”
On positive side the location was great, near temple bar and all types of resturants and shopping. Kitchen area conveinent. The negative out wieghs the positive though. Extremely loud area past 4 am. Beds not comfortable. Only check-in several blocks away. Hot water was an issue. Security in the building was a priority (Three keys required) giving bad sense in area. Would not go back.
“Stay Dublin Apartments”
We stayed at the Stay Dublin apartments for a weekend in Sep 2010. The apartment is in a great location, a short walk from O'Connell bridge over the Liffey and into Temple Bar. There are easy access to buses to/from the airport and trains to wherever you want to go within walking distance. Other than the location, the main benefit of the Stay Dublin Apartments are the size. We had two comfortably sized bedrooms, a good sized lounge and kitchen and a bathroom. The lounge had a sofa bed and you could fit 5 in at a push, although we were just 2. The only downside from my experience was that the bathroom was a bit tired and could have done with refurbishment. The bath in particular was old and the hot water system was very noisy. This apart, if you can live with it, which we could, it's a great location with plenty of space, and fine for a weekend.
“Call before you go”
The first location in the millenium building was sketch. The second location on Augustine street was much nicer but getting to your room was a bit of a maze. Be sure if you have small kids or someone who doesn't do stairs or is handicapped that you tell them that before you book. Also, some of them do not speak English very well.
“Worst apartment we have ever stayed in”
We are a much-travelled family of five and had high expectations but lots of problems from start to finish, The directions to the address were poor, and when we finally got to the key pick-up point the power was down, which meant we could not get the keys at first.. I had to ring and ring the emergency buzzer to get a handyman who said went to find me some keys and then told me to leave them in the room on departure, not ideal when you discover there is a hidden potential charge of 50 Euros for cleaning the apartment. Some of the landing locks did not work, so getting into the apartment was a painful process, and then it was a huge disappointment - basically it looked like a tarted up council flat from the 60s, with cheap furnishings, It was also quite dirty in corners and under the beds our kids were in - not nice at all. We stayed in another apartment in Dublin two years ago and it was five star luxury by comparison, but this felt cheap and nasty. No-one got a lot of sleep - loads of noise from the empty bar opposite, even with the windows shut, which made it hot and sweaty, there was only cheap and uncomfortable bedding, and paper-thin walls meant we could hear people snoring and showering next door. We love Dublin and loved our previous experiences at another apartment block but would not stay here again - for around £100 a night you expect more than backpacker levels of comfort!
“Look elsewhere”
If you are expecting anything close to a hotel-type experience, this is not the place for you! Furthermore, and more importantly, the apt was tidy, but look slightly closer and you wil find that the place is not all that clean. Too add, the carpets, mattress, and pillows were old and stained, and there was a heavy smell in the apt. The location is good overall - quite central Dublin- but the entrance to the place is hard to find, and the hallways are a bit dark.
“Better places to stay in Dublin”
We were very disappointed with our apartment and the accommodations. The bathroom was small, the tub was high so that it was difficult for the older guests. We used the booster for showers but you either got scalded or froze with the water. It took forever for the toilet to fill so you either had to fill it on your own or wait for 30 minutes and with 4 guests that was difficult. The lighting was poor and the quality of the fixtures was pitiful. The twin beds felt like you were sleeping on a board and if you moved it sounded like you were coming through the wall. There was no mirror in the 2nd bedroom and the mattress was awful. We were on the 8th floor and the noise was so loud from the restaurants/bar scene below that you got very little sleep. The washer/dryer combo did not work. It was furnished to the bare bones with cheap furniture. We found out once there that if you wanted extra towels you paid for them and there was no maid service. The positive side was the location being close to a coffee shop, grocery store, shopping mall and Temple Bar area. We would not stay there again.
“Like renting a timeshare, great for family”
Great location, make sure you recive email with check in code. Very clean, much larger than we expected. similar to renting a timeshare. Would stay here again in a minute.
