“Great Location and wonderful smaller hotel”

We recently stayed at Stauntons on the Green and really enjoyed our time there. The hotel is overlooking Stephens on the Green which is a lovely park. The neighborhood was very nice, extremely safe and close to all major attractions. We were able to walk virtually everywhere from the hotel--during the day, when the park is open you can have a lovely walk through it and are then on Grafton Street in a matter of moments. You can also walk to Temple Bar area and other major attractions (right around the corner from the "Hop on, Hop off" bus tours). This hotel also served breakfast which was quite nice. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to friends as I feel as though it was a great value, very comfortable (great front desk staff who were extremely helpful) and was in a wonderful location!

“Georgian charm "on the green"”

Stauntons was everything one could want in Dublin -- good location, gracious hospitality and classiness without pretention. Would highly recommend it and hope to return soon.

“Walkable Dublin location”

Great central location within 10 mins walk of key attractions by day & night with close proximity of beautiful parkland (St Stephens Green) across the road. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very much more of a classic Georgian townhouse than a hotel atmosphere which brings its own charms. Some soundproofing issues in the re-furbed rear, but not invasive, at least this time. Enjoy the difference.

“A mixed bag”

The pluses of the hotel were its good location, friendly, helpful staff and free wi-fi (when it worked). The breakfast was also quite good. The minuses were very thin walls, such that you heard your neighbors loud and clear, and the shower that had some areas that needed re-grouting. Overall, for the price, it was a good deal.

“Definitely stay here my next visit.”

Staunton's Guest House was a welcome change from a large hotel. Beautifully situated on St. Stephen's Green, Staunton's was within walking distance to Grafton St. and all the Dublin attractions. Our room was a former parlor in a converted Georgian home and was lovely! The room had high ceilings, beautiful furnishings and was fully equipped with teapot, hairdryer and clothes press. Full Irish breakfast as well as lighter offerings were offered every morning in a pleasant breakfast room. The coffee was excellent. The hotel also offered free Wi-Fi. But it was the friendly and helpful staff that made our stay exceptional. I will definitely stay here my next visit to Dublin.

“Good Location”

Overall a great hotel. The full breakfast was a great perk. My room was on the 4th floor (3rd) with no lift. At times, it was a little hard climbing all those stairs after a day of sightseeing.

“Great location, but evening staff could be better”

I was on a two week trip to Ireland and had two days in Dublin before flying out. I selected this hotel based upon reviews at TripAdvisor. It suited my purpose and it would have been great except for some of the staff. I was upgraded to a bigger room which was great but I was in the older part of the hotel, therefore I cannot speak to the whole hotel. For an older hotel it is in good condition, I could hear people speaking in normal tones in the hallway though. The neighborhood is more business therefore the noise and traffic are a minimum in the evening. The staff when I checked in were great, and the housekeeper checked in on the condition of the room. Then the staff changed and things went down hill. I was only there for 1.5 days and I had an early flight, therefore I followed their instructions on early departures. When I notified the front desk I got "whatever your pre-paid". Alright well how about early breakfast? Sure. She did not ask me what time I was leaving, etc. When I went down for breakfast the lights were off, no one was around but there were some items on the buffet; minus the milk. No tea/coffee. I also asked for directions from 2 employees for the airport shuttle to make sure for my early morning trek and they were both wrong. Directed me to the the wrong side of the street, had to ask someone on the street. It is too bad for such a cute hotel that certain staff made it a blah experience.

“Loved staying here”

We spent four delightful nights at Staunton's. The location really sealed it for us - walking distance to Grafton St. shops and pubs, Trinity College, walking and buss tours, and the Dublin Contemporary 2011 art exhibit. The breakfast is substantial and delicious. We were able to stick to our plan of eating two meals a day while in Dublin starting the day with their full breakfast. Staff is helpful. In planing our trip I was confused as to what transportation to take from the Dublin Airport, where to get off, that sort of thing so I sent an email query and Jing responded within a couple of hours with a clear answer. We met her when we arrived early - our room wasn't ready so she stored our luggage for us and we could start our walk around the area. All was well when we got back. They were quick to pull out the free map and highlight any place we were looking for. The area felt safe for walking after dark. Concerns you may have - there is no elevator and so we needed to lug our stuff up the stairs. There may have been help available for this, I didn't ask. Also, it got warm while we were in Dublin and a ceiling fan in the room (no AC) would have been nice. On cooler nights it was perfectly comfortable, and not noisy even with the open window.

“Great Location”

Had a nice time during our stay. Staff were helpful and accommodations were adequate. Our room faced the street as the nicer rooms in the back were not available. Would recommend these as the street noise was an issue with the late night crowd, not the hotel's fault. We loved the location adjacent to St. Stephen's Green which we walked every opportunity we had, as well as Iveagh Park. Also close to Camden Street, shopping center, tour buses and public transportation. Would definitely consider staying again.
