“The staff, spa, restaurant were all welcoming and well appointed. Location was convenient. Our room could have used some updating. Clean, but mattress sagged, chair cushions thin.”

“Excellent room, we had an executive suite and the view was marvellous as was the huge four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we've had, proper cumberland sausages - what can I say!. Staff were also excellent especially Joanne the manager who went above and beyond to make our 4 night stay very enjoyable. We had 2 meals in the hotel pub and again the food was of a very high standard, one meal was a sunday roast which I found absolutely superb. Will definitely stay here...

This is in contrast to a number of occasions where I have experienced disappointment when staying at other hotels. The general amenity of the Gateway is extremely pleasant and the staff have managed a relaxing and comfortable public area.”

“I'm the same person who rated 5,0 below, few months ago. I was so entusiasthic right then that I decided to stay again in this hotel despite I was going to drive 45 minutes the day after. I was wrong, this time I had a complete different experience. The bathroom this time was molding and old, i got 3 towels 1 large and 2 small, the large one I had to use in the pool because they had none to give me and one of the two small was dirty. Not cool. The food made me wonder if they have changed cook or...

“House is clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything we need. Water pressure and temperature in all bathroom are perfect. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise. There were high pitch "beeps" from ground floor which woke everyone in house at 3am and 3:30am on the first night. Sounds like the smoke detector but we were not sure. However,...

“Lovely room and a comfy bed, super friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Top notch all round!”

“Open kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom are very clean. Bedrooms are fairly clean, may improve for cleaning of the beds. A few hinges of the cabinets for clothings need to repair. WiFi and TV are excellent. The house and facilities are family friendly, except that there is no dishwasher, no box tissue, no kitchen paper and only 1 roll of tissue paper was provided for 5 persons for staying 4 days/3 nights.”
