Hotel vicino a National Museum of Civil War Medicine - Frederick

“We stayed at Visitation during our son and DIL marriage in the Frederick courthouse- afterwards we reserved dinner at Wye Oak Tavern. The environment, presentation and superior taste of food made for a memorable evening. They treated us with a glass of complimentary champagne to celebrate our night and we never felt rushed to leave that evening. It was a special night and our stay at hotel was superb - rooms were immaculate and comfortable- hotel grounds were lovely to relax.”

“Fine hotel. A little old and worn but clean and fully functional for all our needs. Bed was really great and water pressure was superb too.”

“Good location for easy access to highways, restaurants and shopping. The property is older (renovated), but you can tell it has been around a while. The floors seemed slightly tilted in locations, were very creaky and the hallways were musty smelling. The rooms were clean and I had almost no complaints except for the noisy shower/tub. I luckily was on the second floor, but I imagine that every step above in the shower and on the creaky floor was audible below. The breakfast ok served its...

“Found 3 cockroaches in the room ! I have stayed at the red horse a number of times when visiting Frederick MD. But this time I woke up to find 3 cockroaches in the bathroom. The place is getting a little run down. The drapes had holes in them and the bathroom tile had cracks. The low flow shower and faucet aren't to good. The air conditioning works really good.”

“Hotel accettabile, camera spaziosa ma un po’ rumorosa, colazione appena sufficiente per poca scelta, lenzuola corte e nessuna protezione del piumino, quindi letto poco curato. Parcheggio comodo in area con tanti ristoranti. Personale cortese ed efficiente. ”

“My wife and I stayed for a night to attend a wedding. The room and the property were very nice. Everything was clean and well maintained. I was worried that the 3 pm check-in would make us late to the ceremony, but the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Check-in took less than 5 minutes! The lobby had decent coffee even in the afternoon. I’ll definitely stay here again when in town.”

“Free breakfast was horrendous and not many options. Our room had a sour moldy smell and bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. I complained to the front desk rep and I was told they did not have maids on duty but they would spray something in the room. Whatever it was made smell somewhat tolerable. One night stay but never again.”

“This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Walking into the hotel it smelled terrible. Upon checking in I was told the elevator wasn’t working. This was a big inconvenience since I was traveling with children and we had to carry all of our bags up. The room smelled like cat pee. I had to find a Walmart to purchase cleaning supplies. All the lamps didn’t work and it was only one outlet in the room .I would not recommend stay at this location!!!!!”
