“The best thing about this property was it was right across the street from the harbor and close enough to walk to the beach, restaurants, and park. The hotel staff were polite and they cleaned our room very well halfway during our stay. The small breakfast provided was decent. The only downside, is it’s an older hotel, and some things were a little run down. And there was hair we had to clean up on the floor in our room.”

“The Curly Redwood is a wonderful historic motel and a great value for the area. It’s close to the Redwoods and the ocean. We enjoyed our stay there.”

“Although the room was fairly clean the property showed a lot of signs of lack of upkeep. Just traversing the walkway on the second floor you can the lack of maintenance on the property. You had to go to an adjacent building to get ice. No elevators were available for upstairs rooms. I come to town at least twice a year but I won’t stay there again.”

“I stayed hear becouse of location in town while on a mini road trip with my mother-in-law, The management was very welcoming , and helpful , I picked this place also becouse they had a 1 bedroom suite with 2 queens it was perfect for our stay we were very comfortable, just a couple of things that I think could be improved. “The mouth of the Smith River is a magical place and the XVR Resort provided a first class way to experience it. I heartily recommend this place to anyone, especially those who may want to ‘unplug’, disconnect and enjoy an idyllic few days with nature. We’ll definitely be back!”
