The location of the Requa Inn is ideal for those looking to explore the nearby Redwoods—it's peaceful, scenic, and conveniently close to nature. However, travelers should be aware that just about everything in town, including the hotel restaurant, shuts down around 8 PM. If you're planning a late arrival, definitely plan ahead for food and check-in logistics.
I personally appreciated the charm of the old inn—it has a cozy, nostalgic feel with a quaint lobby and a lovely view from our room. That said, my husband wasn’t as taken with the vintage atmosphere; he found the décor, especially the wallpaper, a bit too reminiscent of “grandma’s house.”
The staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was good, though nothing particularly stood out as exceptional during our stay. Overall, it's a decent place for a short stay if you enjoy historic properties and being off the beaten path—but just know that its charm may not be for everyone.
