“Hotel campanile gare du nord, is not near gare du nord”
Everything was good and we had any problem. The room was large enought (and compared to paris standard was big) and well keeped. The location is not near gare du nord (is nearer to gare de l'est). I noticed that people in the hotel tends not to answer to email. By the way, i felt confortable. I reccomand it and i believe that it has a good ratio price/quality. You can take you breakfast along the street instead of taking in the hotel (and it's a cheaper solution)
“Hotel Campanile Paris 10”
Consigliatissimo!
“Convenient but overpriced”
We were all over the UK and in Paris for 10 days, and this was the worse place we stayed in. The room was clean and the shower was ok, but the room was tiny, offered no amenities, and it felt like they skimped on everything. There were just two of us with a few bags and we could barely fit in this room. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the wi-fi was incredibly slow. The only good thing about this hotel was it's location. It's walking distance from the Eurostar station, and the metro station was just across the street. We also found a great little neighborhood restaurant - Chez Papa - just down the block. Note too that this place is in a regular working class neighborhood, not in the tourist district. We liked that, but perhaps not everyone will. Bottom line, for getting in and around Paris it couldn't be beat. But I felt that for what we got with the room we paid too much and got too little.
“Good basic hotel close to Gare du Nord”
About 15 minutes from Gare du Nord, right opposite Louis Blanc metro stop, for easy access to the centre of Paris and quite a pleasant stroll to Sacre Couer.Room was fine for what we wanted which was a place to sleep and get ready. I would say the rooms facing outwards have a lively/noisy road outside so if you want to have your widdows open at night ask for a room facing the courtyard, as soon as possible. Breakfast is not included, but there are a few pattisieries plus a supermaket around the hotel, however the breakfast did look quite good.... My only complaint would be that if it's hot an humid, then the fan/(aircon?) was virtually useless as cooling the room down... thus leading to my comment about windows above.... However all things considered I would come and stay here again for its location
“Pleasant experience”
Having read hundreds of reviews on hotels in Paris before I left I took a long time to decide which hotel to book. I knew that I wouldn't get a lot for my money based on other people's experience and the related prices. The Campanile, on first approach, was pleasantly modern and clean in appearance in a typical city outer suburb. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of smiles. The room was small, as I had expected it to be, but we had everything we needed (though more tea and milk pots would have been welcome). I didn't sample breakfast and services are limited within the hotel. There is a small bar but I seldom saw other guests. This is simply a good base to stay at and the Metro station is just across the road which was comforting at night when we were out sight seeing.
“Helpful Staff, Covenient Location, Reasonable overall.”
Staff were very kind and extremely helpful. The hotel is modern and clean but it definitely could do with some renovations. Location is convenient for Gare du Nord (10 min walk). The neighbourhood was not scenic but it was metropolitan and safe. I found a gem of a Sushi place few meters from the hotel which was a lovely treat. I would consider staying there again.
“nice experience”
Comfortable stay, they cleaned the rooms every day, but the bedroom was kinda small compared to the huge bathroom!
“Good value for Paris; close to Gare du Nord/l'est”
I booked this hotel after reading the other reviews. I needed a hotel close to the Gare du Nord as I had to go straight to Charles de Gaule the next day and wanted to avoid having to pay for taxi. The room was very clean and my major concern was the bathtub was to small for my height but fine for a shower. I booked the hotel in part as they offered free wifi but the wifi did not work. I told the front desk that in lieu of the free wifi I did not get I suggested I get a free breakfast buffet for me and I would pay the extra 8 euros for my daughter. they gratiously gave free buffets for both but even at the 8 euro price it was a better deal than the 15-25 charged other hotels. The neighbourhood is a bit loud at night but I managed a decent sleep. I noticed a lot of group trvaellors. It was good value for money as I alreday splurged on fancier hotels the previous 2 days. The room had good tv, clean bedding and a few basic extras. My room did not have a safe but apparently others did and I forgot. There was free internet terminal in lobby which I manged to use. I found the front staff were very pleasant and fluent in english in addition to French and being conversational in French I managed quite nicely
“So handy for both the Gare du Nord and the Gare de L'Est”
Friendly staff, nice comfortable rooms, good lively area and so handy for many things as well as the rail stations
“Not a smooth run...”
After paying an unexpected large amount (not allowed to say) at check in for a one way flight for a weekend bag which would have cost almost a third cheaper had I been aware and booked it on the internet, we arrived at the hotel. The condition of the hotel was good and the welcome of the receptionist professional. The rooms were as I expected, although I would recommend you ask to move immediately rather than during the night should you find yourself in a room which has an adjoining door! The location was good with the metro across the road making everything accessible. The police station, next door, meant we heard sirens during the night and the fact it was postioned on what appeared to be a busy crossroads meant there was a tremendous amount of traffic noise when trying to get to sleep. The rooms have tv, hairdryer, drinks, small wardrobe, brilliant shower and half a bath. The beds were clean and comfy but there were not enought pillows to have 2 each.
