Excellent cabin
More than we were expecting. Everything was perfect Great cabin, great views, great solitude. Coordination with hosts was great also. Cabin well stocked with everything you would need. Would stay there again.

weekend getaway
Property well maintained. Had everything we needed. Enjoyed the firepit (plenty of wood supplied). Beautiful views. Saw a couple of deer near the parking area Friday evening. I especially liked the master bedroom and upstairs shower. Loved all the interior woodwork and design of the cabin. Also appreciated the seclusion and privacy.

Such a charming rustic!
Everything from communicating with the owners, to arrival, to departure was great. The cabin has the necessities, without being bogged down with fancy gewgaws and bling. We ate every breakfast, one lunch, and half our dinners on site, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our week-long stay was comfortable and quiet. The cabin is the delightful balance of modern facilities with simple yet eclectic tasteful decor and built like a fortress, even the wind couldn't make it groan. We only heard the rain when it came down hard, but when we wanted to experience nature we just sat on the porch and felt the breeze drifting by. 10/10, we'd stay here again in a hearbeat!

Bliss
Cabin was clean and very well-appointed. Had everything we needed. View is fantastic. Enjoyed watching deer and turkeys from the porch everyday. The surrounding area is beyond beautiful! Make sure you hike at Babcock State Park and New River Canyon. Ed and Tina were very friendly and helpful!

The perfect get-a-way
We stayed here while attending the WV State Fair. The stay was perfect. The host was great with communication! The cabin is peaceful and serene. It was a quiet get-a-way from the hustle and bustle of the fair. We are already planning a trip back!

No traffic noise
We had a lovely time at this cozy and peaceful cabin. The property is gorgeous and it is very secluded. My kids were amazed at the lack of traffic noise and the view from the top of the hill that the cabin sits on. I saw a large cat during my morning coffee on the porch one morning! The cabin is comfortable and had everything we needed. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would plan our days before we left and arrange to spend our days at parks, doing various hikes and adventures around New River Gorge, since the cabin is a drive from most of the trails. We would definitely stay again!

Outstanding Property in a Beautiful Location
We stayed in Tina's cabin for a few nights. It was very quiet and extremely clean! The view from the porch is great! The property owner, Tina, went above and beyond when our car battery died and she helped us to get the car started. The bed we slept in (the King sized bed) was very comfortable. If we come to West Virginia again, we will definitely stay here.

Perfect getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sugar Camp. It's a wonderful location if you are just looking to enjoy nature for a few days, or want to explore the New River Gorge National Park, Lewisburg, and the Greenbrier Valley. The cabin and its property are well-maintained, stocked, and furnished. We appreciated the hard work, thought, and care that was put into the place. The owners communicated well with us. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the cows, turkeys, deer, and other critters. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing
My Husband and I were celebrating our 31st anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at this beautiful location on a hill with wonderful views!!! The cabin you could tell was put together/built with unique touches... we loved it!! Had everything we needed and more. Great hosts!! Tina was very prompt in responding!!

Great Cabin
This is a great place to stay. Brought along my 1 and 3 year old , they loved exploring the property and playing on the wrap around porch. We also purchased one of the hand made quilts.

Perfect fall getaway
The cabin was a perfect home base for a WV fall weekend (and would be just as great any time of year). The view from the porch is amazing - a beautiful morning coffee/tea spot as the sun comes over the mountains. You can truly feel the care and love that went into this cabin through the wonderful craftsmanship. A word of advise... be sure to fit some down time at the cabin in your plans. Our only regret from this trip was not having carved out some more time to enjoy and relax in this wonderful space.

A Dis-connect re-group Relaxing Cabin
Such a beautiful drive up got to see Deer and cows, sitting on the porch with such an incredible view can hit your reset button. The cabin is decorated to the T, matches out side beauty of nature. So nice just to let your body relax. Next visit we will tune in a little better on the leaves changing period we were a little late but still had lower color and it was amazing. Ed(PR) & Tina you have a beautiful quaint charm house and thanks for sharing a little piece of West Virginia Heaven with us. Would love to come back and visit. Until then take care and keep doing what ya doing.

Fall Festivities
Exactly what we needed! Everyone enjoyed our time at Sugar Camp. The area has so much to do in the way of outdoor activities & found some indoor stuff in Beckley & Fayetteville. Already looking forward to our next visit.... and revisiting our home away from home at Sugar Camp!!!

Family Getaway
We had planned this getaway to see the New River Gorge and Bridge. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ian had other plans! It rained the entire weekend. That being said, we still enjoyed our weekend! The cabin was exactly as described and pictured, and was very comfortable. We had plenty of room! The area was gorgeous, and we had several deer that visited the cabin. We did get to go see Sandstone Falls, and it was beautiful! We would definitely recommend the cabin for a getaway!!!

A Must Stay
From the long private driveway that sets the tone for this beautifully unique cabin to the little touches left by the owners, (fresh cut flowers and farm fresh eggs) you will truly enjoy this picturesque private cabin. It was the perfect getaway to unplug and make some amazing memories as a family. We loved it so much! Thank you again for everything Ed & Tina!

Perfect private Appalachian getaway.
Tina & Ed, Thank you so much! This was the perfect cabin for our stay. Nestled in the hills of the Appalachian mountains just southeast of the New River Gorge with all modern amenities one could need. I don’t remember the last time I was able to see the stars as clear as we did when we had our campfires. The provided wood was very much appreciated. We will be back!

Absolutely amazing cabin
If you are looking for some peace and quiet in the woods this cabin is truly the best. Very well equipped and stocked, about 40 min-1 hour to most activities but well worth the drive. You may even get to do some star gazing in the back yard.

This is THE ONE!
Look no further for an authentic WV vacation retreat that is super convenient to interstate 64. This cabin is tucked away on a mountain overlooking beautiful meadows. The pictures and description provided are too modest - this place is one to remember! You will want to cut your sightseeing itinerary short to spend more time here. We found the cabin to be clean, comfortable and fully stocked with all the comforts from home. We almost passed on this one because we have small children and were worried about the safety of the loft, but I'm glad we didn't. There are plenty of safe sleeping options and the property (despite being on a hillside) offered large relatively flat areas for our kids to explore safely. Definitely a property we will return to in the future!

Far Beyond Expectations
WOW! Sugar Camp is nothing less than amazing! We have been doing “the cabin thing” for a while now and Sugar Camp has been hands down our favorite. The views are incredible, the solitude is unbeatable, and the cabin itself is beyond anything we expected. The interior details, you can tell, were done in love. The only reason we gave “accuracy of online listing” 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pictures really don’t do this cabin justice. It’s absolutely beautiful and hosts Ed and Tina are remarkable, very easy to work with. If you are looking to REST, RELAX, and RECHARGE, Sugar Camp is for you!

Easter Weekend
We had a very nice Easter Weekend at the cabin. It was remote (which we like) but convenient to the activities we wanted to do. The hosts were very nice and communicated well-even on a holiday weekend. The cabin is adorable and very interesting. Beds are comfortable. Everyone slept well. If we return to the area, we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin to escape to for quiet
The cabin is nice, super clean, and fully stocked with anything we might have needed. It is situated on top of a mountain and the ride up there wasn't too bad or steep. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the top. There are some homes to look out on, but it was a bit in the distance and we didn't hear too much except maybe a dog barking a couple of times. Other than that, we truly felt that we could relax in the quiet. We enjoyed visiting Lewisburg, White Sulphur Springs, and just driving around the back roads to see what the area is like. Last but not least, the hosts were quick to help out with a light that we had questions about, and were very kind and accommodating in general. You can tell that they care for their cabin, and that they want to make it special for visitors. Thank you, Tina & Ed!

Just Incredible!
Nothing better than a fire pit on a chilly night listening to Christmas Music! This hidden gem among the mountains is perfect for couples getaway. The house is well stocked all around. Beautiful kept with loving touches of handmade items. Many for sale! Can’t wait to come back next year! Thanks Tina/Ed, it was a wonderful time!

National park visit
The owners were very responsive and checked in with us throughout our check in day because the cabin is in a fairly remote area and they wanted to make sure we got there safely. One of the bedrooms is a loft bedroom which is open to the living room where we had a snorer sleeping so a couple of people had a rough night. Otherwise the cabin is great and very well appointed.

Excellent cabin!
Newer cabin with everything you need! Just bring yourself and food/drinks. Owners add a few goodies in the fridge/kitchen as a great touch. Decor is awesome! Communication with the owner was excellent. Some small suggestions would be some blinds on the doors/ windows for privacy and light control. A hot tub on the deck with the great view would be awesome! We will definitely be back in the future!

Country paradise
Tina and Ed have a beautiful home and breath taking country scenery. Tina even texted me that the place was ready the day before so I didn't have to wait for a 4:00 checkin. We picked up groceries and dropped them off in the morning and spent our afternoon hiking. Then in the evening we had a bonfire, perfect way to end the day.

New National Park.
Tina and Ed’s “Sugar Camp” was everything we would want in a mountain camp had we built one ourselves! First off Tina is a wonderful hostess,has all the answers to any question that may arise. Her husband Ed is a gentleman and hearing some family stories of the area made our stay even friendlier. The Camp is down right gorgeous! Wide deck surrounds two sides, and the view down to the valley is breathtaking in the early am mist with a cup of coffee... at night around a fire looking at millions of stars in the sky dropping down to tens of thousands fireflies in the fields below. The camp had everything you needed, perfectly stocked and immaculate!!!Sugar Camp is a perfect getaway, close to everything The new park offers, and great little towns for dinner and exploring.

Beautiful little cabin in the woods.
The owners went all out on the retro/vintage feel of the cabin. Even though it had a vintage look, had all the modern conveniences. Great experience and great stay! Highly recommend if you're looking for a remote location. Stock up on what you need, stores/restaurants are a bit of a hike.

Mountainside Getaway
Pastoral, peaceful setting with great views of the mountains and farmland. Very isolated. Convenient access to New River Gorge National Park and all of its activities. Easy drive to beautiful Lewisburg and the Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs.

Mountain Getaway
We added this short stay at the cabin onto the end of our vacation and it was a great place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and ability for everyone to be together in such an inviting space.

This place was a wonderful to stay at for a week or more the cabin is one a hill with farms below no highway traffic to listen to just nature and farm. Cabin was clean.

Off the beaten path
We came to this area to visit the New River Gorge National Park. What we found was a beautiful cabin in a great setting. Off the beaten path, but well worth the short drive. Cabin was well stocked and clean. Thoroughly enjoyed or stay and got to see more of all West Virginia had to offer. Loved it.

Too short a stay
This is a gorgeous little cabin in an equally beautiful setting. The cabin is creatively designed and decorated, super clean and a good size for a family larger than just the three of us. The hosts are super helpful and friendly and I only wish I’d had more time to spend and get to know them. I highly recommend this place!

Sugar Camp is beautiful!
Many thanks to Ed & Tina for opening their cabin up for rental. This cabin and property is a true gem! Beautiful views from the porch and a gorgeously crafted inside complete with homemade quilts to cozy up under at night. New River Gorge is out nations newest National Park - and this cabin is a 15 minute drive from one of the park entrances. Making it in an ideal location for Parks lovers like us. We will return, and tell all our friends - if we could give 6 stars, we would! Thanks again Ed & Tina, we will see you down the road.
