Although you rated your experience with us was satisfactory, we are sorry to know you had some disappointments during your stay. Unfortunately, narrow stairs are as much a part of the Amsterdam experience as clogs and cheese :) As Hotel Iron Horse is located inside a historical building, we have to deal with certain restrictions, such as putting in an elevator and modifying certain window features. Our 3-star hotel provides a stay-over cleaning service, but not a full daily linen change service unless necessary or requested. That being said, we have taken your comment into serious consideration and will convey them to our team in an effort to improve on this in the future. We apologize for the oversight. Check-out time is observed at 11:00. This is necessary in order to give our housekeeping staff enough time to fully service the rooms for the guests checking in later that afternoon. It is a front desk receptioninst's responsibility to ensure that the guests vacate their room, and will sometimes need to knock at their door if a lengthy amount of time has elapsed or if room calls go ignored. That being said, we are sorry if you were inconvenienced by this measure and will work towards improving our approach in the future. I greatly appreciate your comments about aspects of the room that need updating. The heating issue has been since dealt with, and it is a pleasure to announce that we will be implementing many upgrades to the property within the next couple of months. I’m afraid there must have been some confusion perhaps regarding the double bed. We have both twin rooms as well as rooms with double beds. We encourage you to communicate this to the staff in reception about wanting to switch from one room type to another, if and when this type of situation arises. I am certain we would have been happy to accommodate you with this matter. The breakfast, if paid for in advance, is 9.95 EUR, and only costs 12.50 EUR if taken as a last-minute option. I apologize if you were not properly made aware of this, and we will certainly do better in avoiding this confusion in the future.
