Very nice
Kai was very responsive, accommodating. I had not rented a car, but I was able to get a ride from hm to pick up needed supplies during my stay. The property was in a good location and walking distance to restaurants and a small convenience/grocery store.

The Best
I love this place. Kai is an incredible host and the property is beautiful. Like so so so pretty. It's the perfect spot to be close to everything but feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. You can walk to the beach. There are other Casitas on the property, but everyone does their own thing and you rarely see the other guests. I will be back again and again and again. It's not often you discover such a total gem with a host that's gracious, informative and a wonderful human.

Great place!
We loved our stay here! Spacious, comfortable, great outdoor area. We liked being able to walk to the beach and out to eat. We saw howler monkeys on the property, and enjoyed visiting with the host. Would stay here again.

Beautiful Location & Amazing Host
Last year I taught world geography at our homeschool co-op and one of the class learning objectives was: spark a new love for adventure so you may embark one day on a trip of your lifetime! I, as the teacher, took that to heart and asked my family where they would live to venture to. Costa Rica, of course. My kids love Coyote Peterson and all his ventures to Costa Rica and learning about all the animals and bugs. This place did not disappoint! If you are looking for a place close to an amazing beach, Playa Grande, but not far from the Tamarindo area, this is the place to go. The property is amazing and the home we stayed in was clean. The host, Kai was so helpful and friendly! If the opportunity arises again, we would love to stay there again. Pura Vida! We found this place in the dark in torrential rain. That in itself was an adventure, lol. Side note, when you rent a vehicle in Costa Rica, get a hotspot along with the rental. The WAZE app is also great. It was included in our hotspot. If you don't have a hotspot, it likely can be downloaded to use as your navigation throughout the country. Check out the little fruit stands along the roads. They have great local fruit and the prices are affordable. Highly recommend going in the transition season as well.

Perfect place
We( 2 adults and 5 kids from 8 months to 12 years old) had a wonderful time in the House. We especially loved the concept of the house which always gave us the feeling of being with the nature. We often had breakfast together with the lovely monkeys in the surrounding trees. The close by beach is also perfect for kids. We would highly recommend this house.

Great Property; Great Location; Great Host
Kai's property is beautiful - he has created something special from the surrounding rainforest/jungle. And, with a short walk, you are on Playa Grande, Ventanas Beach, or Playa Carbon. This was our first of four stops during a two-week family vacation with kids ranging from 4 to 17. Everyone had a great time and the property was a great introduction to Costa Rica - with the howler monkeys, iguanas, and other wildlife, and easy access to the ocean. Kai was great to communicate with and always available, but certainly not hovering. He respected our privacy and we got the sense he truly wanted us to enjoy his property - which we did!

Under the Canopy of Trees
We had a truly authentic Costa Rican experience staying at Casa Linda Vista. There were beautiful sunrises and sunsets from this hilltop property. Nature abounds. The best was waking up to the view and the sounds outside our windows . We saw monkeys and birds in the trees, an iguana and even an armadillo. Our host Kai was wonderful and super accommodating. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. And very much appreciated was the the extra shower outdoors after walking back from the beach. Local restaurants and a convenience store are also a short walk away.

Beautiful home on lush grounds near the beach
Playa grande is a beautiful spot and a mellow alternative to busy Tamarindo . We had a wonderful stay at Kai’s home which is on two acres of lush grounds overlooking the ocean. We loved the monkeys and iguanas, birds and lizards, the easy walk to the beach and Kai’s wonderful hospitality - anything we needed he was there to help; he had great local recommendations . The house was spacious for the four of us and close to both the beach and restaurants . Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely amazing
The location of this property is like staying in your own piece of paradise. Located close to an amazing beach the Casta offers a secluded place to relax in the presence of monkeys, and a variety of tropical plants and birds. Thanks to Kia and his staff for providing a wonderful experience.

Amazing vacation, wonderful property!
You won't regret your stay at this property. Take a quick stroll to the picturesque beach or walk or drive to one of the many local restaurants. We saw lots of wildlife and beautiful one of a kind plants and trees on the property. Every morning the monkeys and morning sun woke us up at exactly 6, which was very nice. Kai is an exceptional host and was always there to help us. A pretty quick drive to Tamarindo for more restaurants and many local artisan/souvenir shops. Thanks again Kai

Perfect Getaway
A super shoutout to Kai for being an amazing host…. Always readily available and helpful! If you need absolutely anything, just ask and Kai will take care of it! The house is perfect! Set away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk to everything. We were greeted each morning with an abundance of life. Monkeys and birds abound! You will not regret this stay and this amazing host! An absolute pleasure!

Tranquil Oasis
Amongst nature with many birds, iguanas, and of course the howler monkeys. Beautiful landscaping the owner, Kai, maintains. Any issues were quickly addressed. While there is no air conditioning the breeze was nice as well as ceiling fans to keep air moving. Short 10 minute walk to Playa Grande beach which is an amazing beach. Lots of great restaurants and microbrewery close by. Tamarindo is a 50 minute walk from Playa Grande beach and short boat ride away ($2). While Tamarindo is busy, Playa Grande is quiet and laid back. We’ve already booked another three weeks next year.

Casa Linda
This place is awesome!! The house and the property are super special and beautiful. We stayed 8 nights in the big house on the hill… with our two kids (age 4,6) The views from the balcony are beautiful, the 360 windows in the bedrooms makes you fill like you’re sleeping in the jungle… very quite and peaceful The house has all basic utilities and appliances and we didn’t felt like anything is missing, we loaded the fridge with food for the week and we cooked most of our meals there. Kai and the team are super nice and responsive, cleaners came in twice a week and shine the house. Playa Grande in general is very quiet, nice and simple, the beach is beautiful and about 10 minutes walk from the house (15 with kids…). Kai, thank you very much for everything, this is definitely a place we’ed love to come back!!

Paradise
I have spent half of my life in Hawaii and Casa Linda Vista took me back to my childhood. Kai is the best host and his property is heaven in earth. An amazing view of Playa Grande while living amongst the monkeys, iguanas and assorted birds - this is true Pura Vida. Mahalo Kai !!!

We stayed for 3 nights and it was fantastic. Since we arrived early, Kai checked us in early. Glad we arrived in day time, otherwise it might be tricky to find. Great house, very peaceful place(besides monkeys making noise), beach is close by. If there are no clouds, you can see a beautiful sunset from the balcony...

We enjoyed the house / location! Short walk to Playa Grande. Can walk to restaurants but we drove. Close awesome breakfast and dinner spots. Great local surf shop with Janet there to help you. Kai is a great host and full of info if you need. Would stay again!

Amazing!!!
We stayed at Cai's place for a total of 3 weeks. We rented the larger house. We loved our time there! The place and the garden are very beautiful. We just sat there watching the birds, the butterflies, the lizards, and iguanas, all comfortably displaying their lives in front of us. The house is built in a very special way - nearly all walls are windows. Because of this layout there is always lots of air and wind moving through the house and it doesn't get hot. We were completely integrated in the jungle. When we left, we stayed one more week at a more typical resort, and we truly missed Cai's place! The path to the beach was excellent for a walking meditation. It takes only 10 to 15 min of slow walking to reach the waves at Playa Grande - one of the most beautiful beaches ever! Cai is a very kind and warm person who makes you feel welcomed and wanting to come back. We are very grateful to Cai's hospitality and would love to come back soon!

Best Vacation Ever!
We can't say enough good things about Kai and the property. We stayed in the main house, which has an open architecture, high ceilings, lots of windows, and a great view of the sunset from the balcony. The house is situated on a hill, and with all the windows, it always had a nice breeze going through it. The monkeys greeted us almost every morning. Sometimes they would hang out in the tree next to the house; sometimes they would just be passing through. In either case, they were fun to watch. We also saw lots of different birds. Most notably were a pair of green parrots that would hang out in the trees nearby. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio, conversing over a beer or listening to music. It was a short walk to the beach, so we spent a lot of time there, as well. Our favorite places near the beach were the taco stand and Las Olas microbrewery (which is owned by a fellow Minnesotan). Just be sure you bring a flashlight if you plan to walk back at night! Playa Grande is very laid back and not touristy. We would describe it as a rural surf town. There were hardly any people on the beach and the restaurants always had open tables - but the best part was the "come as you are" dress code. The beach in Playa Grande is awesome! White sand, blue water, and super clean! There's a small market within walking distance, but if you're staying for more than a few days, we would highly recommend stopping at the Supra Compra to pick up food and beverages. It's not walking distance, so you'll need a car. Otherwise, Kai can hook you up with a driver. There are also a few restaurants within walking distance. We went to Kike's a few times for breakfast and dinner. We also highly recommend going to El Huerto for pizza. Kai is an awesome host! He was there to greet us when we arrived and wished us farewell when we left. He was very attentive to our needs, but gave us our privacy and was not intrusive at all. He saw us sitting outside a couple of times and stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. We welcomed the visits and could have spent hours talking to him. He definitely made our stay! PEACEFUL, NATURAL SETTING
We had a great stay. Our party rented all 3 properties. We loved the beach below the property and were able to walk there every day. It was very beautiful and peaceful. We had monkeys right in the backyard. That was so awesome to see. The houses were awesome. If u r planning to cook, the kitchen utensils and items provided made that a little difficult but we had planned to eat out a lot so wasn’t too big of an issue. There were no hot pads in the kitchen which was the only major problem. I almost caught a tea towel on fire using it to get a pan out of the oven. On a good note, all of the restaurants we tried near the house were very good. The outdoor areas were nice and we enjoyed sitting outside but would have been nice to have a couple of hammocks to lounge in. There were no items to use at the house for the beach as advertised. Beach towels would have been nice to save on packing them. We left two boogie boards so the next guests can play with those! Unfortunately, Kai was ill so our communication was a little difficult but we didn’t get his illness, so that was good. This was our 3rd time in Costa Rica so we were pretty self sufficient. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with us Kai!

Great place and great location!
Our family stayed in two of Kai's houses during the christmas holidays. We LOVED the houses and Playa Grande!!! Kai, the owner was wonderful and we had everything that we needed. Short walk to a fabulous, uncrowded surfing beach and great local restuarants within walking distance from the house. Our family for sure wants to return!

Lovely spot
Beautiful simple home! Loved the windows and the ocean view and looking out on all of the beautiful trees and dessert plants. Great birds around - especially in am. Quiet and private. Saw monkeys in the trees our first evening there. Heard howlers in early am's. Easy walk through the woods down to the beach. The beach is quiet (National Park right where you enter, some houses a bit further down). Didn't feel like my 5 and 8 year old could swim at this surf beach but we played in the waves. Easy drive to better swimming beaches. Bring your own beach towel as there's not one for you at this house. Took surf lessons in Tamarindo. The house is easy walk to a handful of good restaurants (I preferred the less touristy ones). Also a little market just a couple blocks away to get fruit and all the basics to cook at home if you want. There's a Vitamix blender to make fruit smoothies! Only downsides (and these were no big deal): no AC (but lots of good fans and windows), no TV (yeah! didn't want one), no laundry, no pool (again didn't want one). Electricity went out for a couple hours one afternoon. Kai was there and very nice. Our family with 4 kids and 2 adults had plenty of room. What a dream beach spot! Would recommend to all my friends.

Slice of Heaven
Our family of seven stayed at Kai's property for three nights in March. This home is absolutely perfect. The layout of the property, the architectural features (beautiful timbers and rocked beams), the cleaniness, the comfort, I could go on and on. We loved the wild life. We saw amazing and many species and colors of birds every day and all day. Our kids especially loved the monkeys who came to visit regularly every morning and the gigantic lizard who every once in a while would make his way up the hill to our patio. The beach is a quick 5 min walk and one of the most beautiful beaches we've visited. Our favorite part of our whole Costa Rica trip was all seven of us swimming in the ocean tossing a coconut over the waves while watching the sun set - I'll never forget it! Town is also a quick 5 min walk with lots of great restaurant options - we had fresh bagels every morning from the bagel shop for breakfast and tacos from the beach stand almost every day for lunch. So many great choices - fresh delicious food all very reasonable priced (important for a family of 7!). The kitchen in the house is very accommodating for those who'd rather eat in and their is a small grocery store also in walking distance. There is a surf shop (next to bagel store) where you can rent bikes, surf boards, boogie boards, etc. - ask for Marco! I can't say enough great things about this home, it's location (< 1 mile from the airport!) and the beautiful little town of Playa Grande - we love love loved it!!

Best of sea and jungle experience with a little resort thrown in
The property is very simple but has everything you need. Easy walk to the beach with a lovely ecotourism hotel that is very welcoming. Would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to explore the many other beaches. We will definitely return.

Perfect getaway!
Beautiful house in a beautiful location! Comfortable and spacious. There is a gorgeous view from every window and one morning at least 20 monkeys greeted us. We loved our stay here. Enjoyed walking to the beach and to Kike’s for a delicious meal.

Beautiful Property, Fantastic Host, Great Town
Very clean, spacious, great view from the balcony, and excellent host; Kai is very friendly and helpful. The wildlife on the property was fantastic, we woke up to a family of howler monkeys on the first day, and saw something new almost every day. The grounds were extremely well kept, and there are plenty of good restaurants close by. It's about a 10-minute walk to the beach; probably faster if you don't have kids. Great visit to Playa Grande and Casa Linda Vista, thanks Kai.

Great home for our family at Playa Grande
Our family loved our stay at Linda Vista. We had three small kids and the two of us. Plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to prepare meals. Beds were comfortable and lots of pillows. The view from the top deck were great. Easy walk to surf, it took me about 8 minutes to get to main break. Outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing everyone off after the beach. Owners were great and easy to communicate with. Highly Recommend.

Paradise!!🌴🌴
Wonderful place to rest and relax. The beach is a mere stroll and we consider it the best beach around! We’ve never seen so many shells!!! Casa Linda Vista is a perfect hideaway for those who want the laid back living style, a quiet home with lots of room, lovely breezes, beautiful sunrise and sunset views from bedrooms. Howler monkeys aren’t too loud.....after you make friends with them.....and Kai is the best Host ever!!! Muchas gracias Kai, we’ll be back for another adventure in the jungle someday....

Beautiful house. Beautiful Property. Beautiful view. Great location.
Casa Linda Vista is a wonderful place. We stayed for 2 weeks while we looked for a more permanent residence in the area. It was hard to leave Casa Linda Vista. The house is clean, well cared for and was a great place for a family with two kids. The house is a quick walk to town and the beach. It's great being up on a hill, as you get nice breezes and a view of the ocean. Kai is amazing, super helpful, responsive and takes amazing care of the property.

Perfect setting - beautiful house
This is a perfect getaway place. The house is very visually pleasing, while keeping all the surrounding nature speak for itself. The small village has everything you need, but without a hint of bustle - just smiling locals and surfers. Easy walks to the beach allow you to capture all the wildlife scurrying and flying around. Monkeys hung out for a while in trees next to the house our last day. This is a special place.
