The top portion of the unit (2 bedrooms and bath) were cozy, comfortable and clean. Unfortunately the basement where the 3rd bedroom and 2nd bathroom are located still haven’t been fully cleaned and sanitizing from the sewer leak a previous guest described. The baseboards around the bottom of the stairs are stained brown, there is brown splattering around/on the cutout door and there appears to still be feces behind the cutout door. We had a curious 3 year staying with us and were not comfortable using the space downstairs. The cut out door does not have a latch and is the perfect height for her to want to explore/open. We reached out to the property management company and they stated that the issues had been addressed by a plumber and a cleaning company. We ended up getting a hotel room nearby since we didn’t feel it was safe to use the area downstairs. I don’t understand why they don’t wipe down the door and remove the feces. It seems like it would be an easy thing to address and would be in their best interests for future renters.

Good locations for NAVY graduation recruit
The place is clean. Checking in was very simple and fast. We were able to arrive in time with no delays in order to support my daughters navy graduation. Chicago hot Dog is a definite must to try!

Health Hazard
Major sewage leak that flooded finished basement and they refused to clean up all the feces that was just behind a cutout door in the finished basement where the pipes are. The property management company fixed the plumbing issue and “cleaned” the finished basement floor but refused to clean up all the feces that had overflowed which was just behind the cutout door. Absolutely disgusting a d definitely a health hazard. I sent them photos of the situation and they acted as if it didn’t exist. RENTERS BEWARE!!!

Great location for Navy base
This was a great place to stay for my nephew's Navy graduation. This is an older home but the furnishings are beautiful. I loved that they provided shampoo etc. The entire home, especially the basement could really use a coat of paint. Our only difficulty was the only bathroom on the main floor is in the master bathroom, so the rest of us had to use the basement bathroom. Overall, it was a great trip and if you get a chance to eat at Firkin please do, its amazing!
