Overall quite good, however there was no formal means of check out; no one to leave the room key with, no one to report a faulty waste on the bathroom sink, by chance a chef was using the other guest room so the key was left with him. perhaps some thought should be given to this!

Comfortable, Clean and Quiet
Great place to stay, couldn’t fault it. Room was clean and fresh, staff were attentive, even with the coach-load of tourists that had just occupied most of their evening. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

The George Inn is a quaint 600 year old inn and pub in a small village. The room was a nice example of historic inns. It was clean and comfortable.

130€ la chambre ! Pour une chambre située au dessus des cuisines et envahie par une odeur de frites. La chambre était bruyante (cuisine) aussi car le refroidissement du frigo mobile était à deux mètres des fenêtres. Et en plus nous n’avons pas pu manger dans le pub soi disant complet alors que beaucoup de table étaient libres. Ils ne servent pas non plus le petit déjeuner et nous envoie avec désinvolture chez un de leur confrère dans le village. Bref, je déconseille cet hôtel

The lovely George
I love this pub. It has been a part of my life for most of my life and holds a special place in my heart. The stay was wonderful and all the staff were charming, helpful and chatty. The only thing I would very definitely change would be the food which was frankly, dreadful.

Room spacious, pub provided good food. However, no hot water in bathroom, noisey work started on downstairs rooms early in the morning. No staff available until 11am checkout to solve hot water supply. Not good value at £100 per night.

Terrific Room
Considering the age of the Inn and that they have only two rooms, I was very pleasantly surprised how large and comfortable my room was. Based on comparing notes with my friend, I got the better of the two rooms, fortunately for me. It was really exceptional by the standards of these old historic inns

I liked that it was away from the main bar area. I am obsessed with turnspits and I had no idea they had one here. That was a lovely surprise. Only negative was the noise at night, it was like a mid pitch sounding hum that we couldn’t locate.

My son and daughter in law stayed here to be close to us over the festive period. All well laid out for them and very comfortable. Staff ensured Covid restrictions in place and very clean. Would recommend to friends and use again.

The George.
Absolutely lovely buiding and room was great. Spoilt by constant hum from air-conditioning unit outside window which kept me awake. Also unhappy about breakfast not starting util 8am.

We love Lacock and The George is in the middle of the village. Very warm and comfortable and plenty of parking.

Excellent location, room clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast actually served at pub down the road which has a good reputation but didn't have to use ourselves. Checking out simply involved putting key through pub front door which was OK but couldn't get a bill.

A must stay if in the Cotswolds/Bristol area
The George Inn in Lacock is the place to stay if you want the authentic English pub experience and explore the surrounding area (which includes Bristol, Bath, Castle Coombe, Bradford on Avon, etc. Lacock itself is a famous site with Lacock Abbey and the village being used in many feature films including Pride & Predjudice, Emma, etc. The room we had was nicely renovated, had a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. Chris and his team are excellent hosts with lovely food on offer in their amazing pub dating back to the 1300s. It has free off street parking and WiFi with the village shop about 500m away as well as other restaurants and pubs (but I’ll bet you stay in...we did 3 nights in a row!)

This is a quaint property situated in an especially beautiful village. The room was comfortable and quiet, with nice ensuite. Staff lovely. Breakfast is served in a sister property a little distance away. We had an evening meal which was satisfactory; but in surroundings full of character.

Quiet pub with nice rooms.
Rooms set at the rear of a traditional pub in a small village. They have just two rooms with a separate access from the adjoining pub, there was some noise from the kitchen beneath but only during the dinner service times and nothing too severe. They do not offer breakfast but a nearby pub is just a short walk away and they offer a chargeable breakfast off site. Everything with the stay was good, my only criticism is the service in the restaurant was slow even though it was not particularly busy for the number of staff to cope with. I should not have to chase the taking of my order or have to go to the bar to pay as nobody came to take my plate or ask if I wanted anything else. Staff friendly just need to be a bit more table savvy. The room was great with a large bathroom and all that was needed for a relaxing stay.

A local place to stay in Lacock
Stay in a busy local pub! Great experience! Instead of staying at a pretentious place, this pub made me feel I went back to 16th century having beer in a cozy pub with a lots of local people. There were some local dancer uncles performing in the front door, staff said they are local people, like to perform and have fun. The room is in the 2nd floor, staff at pub gave us the room key, basically we just park our car close to room entrance, very convenient, plenty parking space. Good size of toilet with hot shower, comfortable bed, with kettle n tea. What is better to have at a rainy night!

My stay at the George Inn Lacock was very good. My second stay at the George Inn in 2018. It’s very convenient with ample parking and very quiet. I look forward to my next stay in Spring 2019.

Our stau at The George was excellent. The room was very clean and had a good sized bathroom. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Overall we would highly recommend it

Very comfortable room at the back of the hotel. Quiet. Plenty of parking behind the hotel. Breakfast not included which suited us. Had a mix-up over payment but this was sorted easily. Friendly staff. Only had one lunch there which was good so can't comment authoratively about the food. Need to observe their advice about checking in and out when the pub is closed but this was not an issue for us. Would stay there again.Lacock is of course very beautiful.
