Lake view was beautiful
We were pleased with the home, the view and the grounds. Five adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs were very comfortable. Furniture was nice, there was plenty of dishes, silverware and pots and pans. The owners were super nice and very helpful. We would most definitely stay here again

Awesome fishing trip
We had a great time at Patricia's place. The house was nice and clean. There was enough parking for 5 trucks with trailers. We brought kayaks and was able to launch from the house. The boat dock was nice, great for fishing. Overall we had an awesome time and will book with Patricia again

Not for boats and trailers
This place is advertised with a boat dock that is falling apart. There are no boat chalks or tie downs. I had to tie boat to main dock piling. After the wind came up at 25 miles an hour the rear rope was wore in two on a steel cable and the my 20’ Duckworth’s front end was smashed up against the dock all night and did about 3500.00 dollars worth of damage. Not only is the dock old and wore out the drive way coming into the property is not meant for boat trailers. We had two boats and had to make 5-6 point turns to get the boat into the driveway. The driveways are leaning and we almost rolled both of our boats. When it started raining there is no way you will get your boat out of the driveway without 4-wheel drive. Other than boat and trailer problems the property was ok. Could not find trash bins where they said they were. There is no way any VRBO I have stayed in makes you take your own trash with you. The pictures on the site have to be 20 years old because the place hasn’t been remodeled since the seventies. This place would be fine if the weather was perfect and you spent all your time outdoors.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Had this guest read the rental contract before booking and the information sent to him weeks before checking in, or responded to my many emails, texts and phone calls with message left, we could have avoided all of this 😓 I didn’t know he had a boat let alone 2! 😳 He never responded. We clearly state “Boats need to be launched before coming to the house. There is plenty of private parking for your truck and trailer at the house.” (Not slanted). We have directions for how to operate the electric dock so you can adjust it to your boat to avoid damage to your boat, and to our now damaged dock and more road repairs. Had he just read he would have known where the trash bins are. Had he responded to my messages or called that would have been nice for both of us. This Retro Vacation House is a great location for fishing with or without a boat. The road is getting regraded, and you are away from the city lights so the stars at night are spectacular❣️A great place for getting together on this beautiful lake with your family and friends. 🙏🏻🐟🎶🦋😎🎣🚤⛵️

Great stay
The location was great. It was about 20 minutes away from stores and stuff but tucked away on a point right in the lake. The last bit of the road was a little difficult but I had a pickup and a jeep so no problem for me.

Great view of the lake
The pictures are accurate, the backyard goes directly into the lake. Great view of lake, the house was good size, well kept but little outdated. We arrived at night it was very dark, it was hard to see the house from the road. You have to drive a 1/4 miles or less on a dirt road. It has pool table, games, foosball table didn't have a ball to play. Some lights were not working, but there were enough lamps in the house to illuminate the rooms. The trash needs to be dropped in the pave road uphill, we never found the bins, maybe a map will help, but also it doesn't seem reasonable to ask people not familiar with the area to take trash uphill in the dirt road. Overall nice place to relax and enjoy the lake, if you don't know the area I' would suggest arrive and leave while there is sunlight

The home was very comfy. Perhaps in the future - the owner could advise guests to bring charcoal for the grill...it's not gas. The fire pit also did not have gas to use it...no smores.

Clearlake Beach Home
My family of 8 met at Clearlake for a weekend of kayaking, playing games, visiting, and having meals together. Everyone had a comfortable bed to sleep in. Each of us drivers were amazed by the twisty roads that led us to the lake home—but all went well. The roads were the only reason for a 4/5 location score. None of us felt that driving to town for dinner, in the dark, would be a good idea. But— we brought food for meals and had plenty of utensils for cooking. The water was beautiful, and the patio was perfect for playing games together. The owner was responsive to my texts at checkout, and had even called to make sure check-in had gone smoothly . I would come again.

Pier is nice, place is run down and not as described
The fishing on the pier is the best part of this place. The pictures don’t match the place. Very run down. Be advised that this place doesn’t include basic necessities, no towels in the place at all, no soap in bathrooms and the check out process is very involved including taking trash up hill or with you, if you have any physical ailments this isn’t the place for you. You will be charged if you don’t do things cleaning fee should cover like take your trash with you home. “Bedroom 3” is located in the middle of the game room which includes broken foosball table that is taped together. Location is through winding road you will not be able to get a boat or trailer to the property. Will not rent here again.

This guest is just upset because they had a party and left the house trashed. There are bins to put your trash in but this guest didn’t use them and we had to pay $50.00 for trash removal. The guest was charged with the fee and wasn’t happy about that. Housekeeping doesn’t include dump runs. We ask inexperienced boaters to launch their boats before coming to the house but have plenty of private parking to accommodate boats cars and trailers. We provide soap. Hand and body along with shampoo and conditioner. With the Ca. water shortage we ask that you bring your own towels and we provide all other linens. This place is not run down as he suggests. We accommodate 12 guests and the third room is a game room that sleeps 6. It has a beautiful pool table and multi-game table that includes foosball that was not taped together before their arrival. We are in a private area, away from the city lights and the stars at night are spectacular. Fishing is great! You will love this location for your next getaway.

Peaceful Lakefront Paradise
We had such an amazing stay here. It was so quiet and peaceful in the early mornings listening to the birds and nature drinking coffee outside overlooking the lake. The direct access to the lake was exactly what we were looking for our family of all ages and 4 dogs. We spent most of our time in the water. The inside was spacious enough for us all to spread out and meet again for meals at the large dining room. Communication was great with the hosts and they were available to us if needed. We will definitely be back again

Women’s retreat
Great home to hang out, play games, and float in the water. (Tied to dock with ropes) Could use some fresh kitchen pans and a few more utensils. Be sure your previous guests have cleaned pans well. With a party of 11 there’s bound to be garbage. The main small garbage can at the top of the road really isn’t adequate. Overall a VERY comfortable home with a beautiful view. Thanks!

Secluded lakehouse with a great view
We stayed for a week in June. The weather was fantastic--- sunny, but not too hot---and the lake is beautiful. The house is a 15 minute drive from the highway and the driveway is a steep dirt/gravel road. Our SUV didn't have a problem, but a small car might. We found the house to be in nice condition, although some things are dated--- in particular, the patio furniture didn't quite live up to the photos. The kitchen has a nice, modern stovetop and oven, but the cooking equipment was limited and somewhat dated. We enjoyed spending time in the living room and dining room which both have a fantastic view of the lake and backyard. Be sure to bring your own towels for the kitchen and bathroom as they are not provided at this VRBO.

Annual Family Vacation
Had a great time .. Bass fishing was poor that week but caught 3 catfish off the property dock all weighing 10 pounds and above. The proprety is well taken care of and the landscaping is as well. Looking foward to staying there again ! I have stayed at several other lakefront homes and this one has been the nicest by far !

Great birthday weekend
First impression - the property was immaculate...cleanest home inside and out that we have ever stayed at. Whole property was larger than the pictures portray - bedrooms and bathrooms were quite roomy, kitchen had everything we needed for the weekend, lots of seating on patio. The fishing dock was a highlight. We were able to launch our kayaks very easily and Paradise Cove is the perfect place for a first time kayaker. Tons of parking for our vehicles. Added plus for us - having our family and dogs enjoy the weekend with us. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Cozy getaway
This is a great place to stay. It's quite spacious. Starting from the water, there's a nice dock that reaches out far enough to allow for good fishing. The backyard is nice, leveled, and has a lot of seating. The house has multiple doors, so you can literally enter the house from every side. There's a TV in every room, which is extremely convenient since everyone can watch their own things. The pool table was fun, but previous guests had used up the tips of the pool sticks and even broken one of the sticks, so we only had one to play with. However, that's not the fault of the owner. The washer and dryer is located in the detached garage. It's nice, because the noise of the laundry is kept away from the house. The driveway has plenty of parking for at least 6 cars, because we had a small sedan, an SUV, a truck and a boat trailer. There was still plenty of space to park. The biggest challenge is if you have a boat trailer. There is only one narrow dirt road that leads down to the neighborhood. I would not recommend inexperienced or intermediate drivers to go down this road with a boat trailer. It was fine for me because I'm an experienced driver and can maneuver the trailer with ease. However, if you do not have the experience, don't try it because it is an incline with tight turns. You will get stuck and there is no way to turn around. Once you commit, you have to follow through so do it right. Overall, I'd stay here again. The owner is so easy to work with and is responsive.

Great!
My husband had a boys weekend with his friends and the property is BEAUTIFUL. Other than it being a teensy hard to find there were no issues. It slept 10 adult men comfortably and they had a great weekend. I have gotten so many thank you’d and compliments on what a great job I did choosing the place! I wasn’t there but I saw the property through a video tour and it was a great space.

tranquil spot right on the lake
we loved the place, inside and outside. i think there might currently be an issue with the neighborhood's well water, since we were advised to bring drinking water -- they stock with 3 gallons in their water dispenser, but i think they should probably provide a couple of 5-gallon bottles since it's a long trek to the nearest store. lake level is low right now (November) and possibly semi-permanently, but there is still easy lake access for what we brought (paddle board and canoes). we would definitely stay again.

This was a great property to stay at! Even though the water was low, we still had access. The road to the house was recently paved which made it easier to get to. Plenty of beds to have single people or children to stay. Owners were very nice and accommodating as well. Highly recommend.

Great get away from it all!
This was the perfect property for us. The house was clean and perfect for us. The air worked great as it was HOT. Beds were very comfortable and loved the patio overlooking the lake. It was great to be able to pull our boat right up and have a few steps to the house. The patio was nice to sit in the morning and drink coffee and watch the fish jump. I was a bit bummed about the lake with all that gross stuff in it, but it was our timing. The house is a bit out of the beaten path so be prepared for what you need and the road down is a bit steep. But the owners were great and I would go back for sure!!!

First Famiky Gathering at the Lake
The property was definitely lake front. Unfortunately, we were not there to really enjoy the lake, but there is high potential to relax and enjoy being lake side. Your down on shore side, with a short jog down a gravel road. If you like feeling no one's around, nearby. The property does cover that feeling, eventhough other lake homes are near by, you don't really notice them. Plenty of room in the house for family to enjoy time together pmenty of flat screnn TVs for those who cant go without that entertainment. Lots of lake side window view from dining and living rooms. It is a comfortable family vacation home to enjoy each other's company, and chill out, or have lots of fun. Bring life vest for the young children. So you can relax more and enjoy the lakeside patio area is highly recommended. (Mom brought one for five year old, playing outside. Even though plenty of adults to watch. It only take seconds to get to the lake.

Not What Was dvertised
Our main issue is we were sold on this property through false advertising. First the pictures posted are not accurate, I estimate they were taken decades ago. The property is run down, covered in weeds, the patio furniture was dirty with no cushions, we were later informed they were in the garage. I was angry and embarrassed as I was the one who chose this property for the family vacation. another thing, we were told close to the time of arrival the water was not drinkable, we also were never told you had to travel a dirt road down a steep grade with deep ruts in the road. I would not have minded this part but we arrived with my wife's new car, not my 4X4 truck. Never again.

The gardeners were there and the guest even talked to them complaining, and giving orders. We provide fresh drinking water on a cold, free-standing dispenser. It had been windy, rainy and had hailed just days before arriving, so the cushions were stored in the garage. This property is as described and beautiful. A perfect location and you do not need a four-wheel drive to get to the house. This guest was not pleasant, unreasonable. and will not be welcome to come back.

Excellent sales skills, poor delivery.
We were very excited about going to this property because it appeared that the owner had taken very good care of their property. When we arrived we were disappointed to see that the property was run-down with many of the house and yard items missing or in disrepair. We will not be going back and disillusioned with VRBO.

Clear Lake Trip
Great trip, house is clean and very comfortable. Long narrow roads to get to it but if your looking for quite and seclusion to relax this is it. Lake level was down, so we had some trouble with the boat dock and the angle of the ramp to the pier going back to the. "Very steep " We can't control the lake levels so we worked with it being in a wheelchair. My 2 buddies and son are able body. Our group fishes for points on line World wide Kayak fishing contest. Due to Clear Lakes fishing report history we made this one of our stops hunting for points with larges fish caught, be it bass, catfish, trout, or perch for fresh water. We also do Salt water categories too. Well the lake level and weather on our dates caused lock jaw. But the House and amenities made the whole worth it. Oh and the owner was always in contact making sure our planned trip was on track and once we made were on property we could reach her no problem. Hope to visit again.

Nice getaway
We were looking for somewhere to getaway and relax and wanted the place to feel like home. Our stay accomplished both. From the moment we walked in we felt comfortable. The views from both inside and outside are great. I think Paradise cove is the best little cove on the lake. Yes the road going down has some tight turns but I was able get my boat trailer in and out with minimal effort. Patricia was very clear about describing the road and instructions on the best way to navigate it. She was easy to contact and very pleasant to talk with. We will definitely be looking at the property for future stays when we go to Clearlake.

Not keep up
Almost impossible to get boat in driveway u must go down to end of dirt road to turn around bushes over grown on road can’t make the swing. Outside overgrown with weeds not like picture at all. Inside of house nice but dining chairs the tops need to be glued they are in need of repair recliners have tape over tears. The boat dock only has 1 cleat and not in place to tie boat up. Bumpers on dock gone or falling off and bolt will chew boat up. No outdoor trash cans maid said they were up on dirt road 1/4 mile away said we had to go get them. Now she wants to charge me for dining chair. Be careful not as described. Was not going to leave bad review but now she’s blaming us for the chairs that need repairs. Heater noisy need maintenance. Did catch a lot of bass though. If you need picture to show outside how bad call me

Weekend away
We had an amazing labor day weekend on clearlake because of the fantastic communication between the owners and ourselves as well as the amazing location. We used our boat on clearlake and it was so much fun to drive it from the house to the restaurants. The home is clean with wonderful amenities. We would go again!!

Nice, quiet property on the shoresnon the lake. Away from everything so bring everything you need. Therw is a Safeway 20 minutes away if you run out of beer. It would be nice if the property had a couple of kayaks as part of the amenities. Overall, nice house with the basics

House was as described but could not swim in the lake
We rented this house from July 11-14, 2021 because it was a lake front property and we had every intention of playing and swimming in the lake. The ad advertised “This is a great spot for water sports complete with a private dock for your boat and other water toys. Great fishing right off the dock, and swimming on your private beach.” Unfortunately for us, you could not do any of these things because the lake was so full of algae it was unusable. We did not find out that there was a problem with the lake having “harmful algae blooms”, that it was unsafe for pets to swim in or drink the water, that the mercury levels were so high that you could not eat any fish caught in the lake until it was time to head out to our lake vacation. We were unable to use the paddle boat we brought because there was so much algae in the lake that it started to clog the small motor. The lake literally looked like pea soup and no one was comfortable stepping foot in it, especially with the 3 dead catfish on the shore. While we were there, it was over 100 degrees each day and since we didn’t rent a house on the lake to sit in the house all day, we went to the nearby Walmart to buy some kiddie pools to fill with the hose water to try to keep cool outside. We noticed later that the water in the kiddie pools had algae in them which must have already been present in the hose water. We then stopped using the kiddie pools. Other than the lake being unusable, the house was as described. It had great air conditioning, a full functioning kitchen, plenty of space, and the host was responsive. The kitchen supplies were a bit outdated, but functional. The pool table provided some entertainment since we were stuck in the house for most of the time (although had holes in pockets) and there were TVs in most of the rooms. We contacted the host to request a partial refund since we were unable to do the one thing, we planned to do at the lake house…use the lake. Of the $1,664.28 we paid to stay at this lake front house, we were refunded $100 by the host, which I guess paid for the gas we had to use to drive to Walmart to buy kiddie pools. Our advice…check the conditions of the lake before you book any trip on Clearlake. We regret not doing our research. If we had, would never have booked a stay here. Do not count on a host to alert you to problems with the lake.

Great Stay - Exactly as listed
We had a amazing time. The place is exactly as listed. Right in lake, private beach, private dock. Host is great, our bedroom got locked, got immediate response. Let us have late checkout, clear direction on trash and everything. The house is little old but that does not bother in any way. Awesome lake views from the living room, pool table is a plus. Overall great place for a summer stay, I am surprised at the price actually, it’s a steal. Will definitely come back. Thanks Patricia for being a great host.

Perfect little getaway!
We needed a little rest and this was a perfect little last minute get away. The view is just as pictured, the house was clean and the owner was quick to respond to all my questions. Very easy to rent and we will be back hopefully to stay longer in the future!

Loved our stay
Property a little hard to get to but other then that the beach was well worth it. Caught a lot fish which was another highlight of trip. The property manager called us back within 5 minutes for my questions...just had a wonderful time! Vacation we will remember. Thanks for sharing your home with my family.

Great Family Vacation
We had a fantastic time here. The house was great. Everything was as described. The pool table and foosball table are a little broken, but honestly, we almost never were inside the house. The backyard, dock and lake access was fantastic. Great fishing, even with the lower water levels due to the drought. I would highly recommend this place to stay for a family. Oh and the host was great. Fantastic communication. Overall, very pleased with everything.
