Peaceful
My husband and I went up here to enjoy some times to ourselves and it was so worth it. The view and sound of the river was phenomenal. Although the trains drive passed a lot, there is something soothing about them. We will definitely be going back.

The property was very nice. The proximity and frequency of trains surprised us. We know you have no control over that! Suggestions: the front bedroom needs a new mattress The area around the dining table needs better lighting Include information for guests that soap, shampoo and conditioner are not provided Mention that the Flight 93 memorial is in the area Thank you for a lovely stay, and we have recommended your place to friends. Beautiful cabin
We had a great stay! The house was perfect for a few people to stay, and was so nice to be so close to the river. Robin and Dan were very helpful with any questions we had about the property and the area.

Paddler's Lane River Chalet
Beautiful chalet, property & river view! Hats off to you Robin!!! Very clean & a warm cozy atmosphere. Nice fire pit over-looking the river. The grounds are well kept and maintained. My sons and I enjoyed the chalet and the area for our yearly get-a-way. Highly recommend Paddler's Lane river chalet to get-a-way from everything. Hope to be back again, soon!

Peace. Our stay in the chalet was perfect in every way. After a trip to Fallingwater, my friends and I drove to your Riverside Chalet. We loved that it was situated on a private lane and featured many beautiful plants and flowers on the property. It was especially nice that we were soon greeted by a host who answered all of our questions and made us feel at home. The chalet was immaculate, and beautifully designed and decorated. It was well-stocked with everything to make our stay very comfortable. We were only steps from the river and loved hearing the sounds of the flowing water and area birds. Yes, we also heard the trains that occasionally passed on the nearby tracks, but that sound only added another layer to our sensory experience. We have been home for a week and are still holding the peace of our visit in our hearts. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay at your Paddler’s Lane Riverside Chalet.

Beautiful cabin!
Our stay was wonderful! The cabin is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. It is right on the river and looking out from the back porch is a great view! Dan and Robin were great! There is a fireplace in the cabin that was already set up to just be lit and ready to go! There was extra wood and kindling on the back porch. There are train tracks directly across the road in the front of the house (which my 5 year old son loved!), and there were plenty of packs of disposable ear plugs out and available if they were needed. Checking in and out was incredibly easy and stress free. Dan came over to meet us on our second day there and was very friendly and welcoming. The pictures do not even do this cabin and the surrounding area justice! It is so beautiful! We will be looking to book sometime again soon!

Riverside Relaxation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paddlers Lane Chalet! The chalet was just as it was listed; clean, the kitchen had everything and the hospitality was top-notch. We adored the Pet Kit for our furry friend.... Treats & Toys! The view of the river was beautiful - we hope to make it back and enjoy the view in the summer!

Just what we needed♥️
From the moment we arrived to the chalet to the morning we checked out, everything was absolutely perfect! Upon our arrival Robin and Dan had the chalet warm and welcoming. The beautiful fireplace in the living room was an absolute dream to have! We wanted a peaceful stay, and that’s exactly what we received! Dan and Robin respected our privacy, had plenty of wood prepared for a cozy fire, and the chalet was spotless! One of the cleanest AB&B’s I’ve ever stayed in. The beautiful river roaring right outside the front door was so serene. Yes, the train tracks are very active, but so, so charming! Where I’m from, all the train tracks are no longer in use, so this was an extra touch to this incredible stay. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil you would need. On the last night of our stay we had a beautiful snowfall! Sweet perfection♥️ Thanks again Robin and Dan, keep doing what you’re doing! We will definitely be back!

Lovely riverside cabin
The Riverside Chalet at Paddlers Lane provided everything we needed for a comfortable 3-night stay. We enjoyed the fireplace every evening and used the charcoal grill for several meals. We met Robin, the owner, and she is delightful. Our Boston Cavalier enjoyed the property and we were happy we could bring her. The fall foliage was at its peak and a drive to Ohiopyle and Fallingwater was beautiful this time of year. The only thing we might add is if you are sensitive to loud sounds, use the earplugs that are provided because the trains do roll through various times. The sound of the river is soothing to the soul if you are able to sit on the back deck as we did.

Truly a Mountain Getaway
This property was located right on the river in a secluded area outside of Confluence, PA and close to OhioPyle and local attractions. Very clean and well appointed. Nice area for children to play and just a short walk to a "sandy beach" where we were able to fish. In close proximity to the railroad tracks, but if you like trains you'll love the location!

Nice but.
Nice, clean chalet that comfortably sleeps 4 adults (sharing 2 queen beds) but the loft is best for able bodied teens or adults that don't mind sleeping on the floor. There is a pull out but it's in the middle of everything. There are train tracks next to the home, the trains went at all hours waking many of us up. One of the owners bombarded us before we could even get in the door asking us tons of questions and trying to get us to contact his ex wife to open the lower level of the chalet "at a cost, but it's not that much more". That was the last we heard from them which was fine. however it would have been nice to have the steps/ porch salted as there was a wintery mix the night before we had to leave so we were left carrying all of our stuff across icy steps. Overall, nice place but smaller and louder than expected.

Riverside
Cabin was sparkling clean, super comfortable, very attractive, in the woods on the banks of the river. It's as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed to cook a dinner with groceries we brought with us. Loft beds are straight up a ladder in a tight space--good for kids but as an adult I wouldn't want to make that climb in the night. As we drove through smaller and smaller towns and ended up on a track alongside the railroad, we worried what we were getting into, but once we arrived at the cabin all doubts vanished. Excellent communication with hosts, whose house is visible (which was comforting, given how isolated the cabin is otherwise), though not *too* close by to intrude on the lovely sense of privacy. The one thing I should mention (why location gets 4 instead of 5 stars) is that as close as the river is on one side of the cabin, the train tracks are on the other, and trains go through regularly--half a dozen in the twelve hours we were there, including one in the middle of the night that used its whistle. We had all the windows shut (cold March night) and weren't bothered at all by it, but it's something to know about.

Amazing location
This was one of the best stays I’ve ever had through vrbo or any other service. It was as advertised and even better. From the comfort and cleanliness of the chalet to the wraparound deck, fire pit to the river right outside the door. I will definitely be back many times. One of our most relaxing getaways!
First impressions of traveling into Paddler's Lane..Quaint and Private. Our chalet was nestled between charming railroad tracks and the flowing Yough River. Upon arrival, we met Dan who was as friendly as they come. He delivered firewood to the chalet and kindly answered all of our questions. We were celebrating my Father’s birthday weekend and we found this gem online the previous summer. We loved the online photos and were pleasantly surprised once we arrived. Very clean, spacious (for 4 adults) and completely stocked with all necessities for our weekend stay. The window views were spectacular of the property. The fireplace was cozy in the evening. Added bonus was a surprise Snowfall into Sunday morning which put the icing on the cake. I would not change anything! I had the opportunity to speak with Robin on our last day and she was a joy. I told her we will most definitely be back for my father's birthday weekend next year. We fell in love with Paddler's Lane Retreat!

This chalet was lovely and incredibly clean, right next to the beautiful Youghiogheny River. Just the getaway we needed. Other commenters were right — the train was close, but more charming than a nuisance. Would love to return in spring or fall.

Great Three Day Getaway
Arrived for a short get away and found this place to be a nice retreat away from everyday life. It was just the perfect size for the two of us and we sat on the porch watching and listening to the river. When we arrived it was clean and very well organized with about everything you would need. Winter Wonderland
We had an amazing time at the chalet! It was just what we were looking for. Despite the snow storm and the icy conditions, we really enjoyed our stay. We were met at the chalet by Dan who helped clear a path in the snow and shoveled the porches. He also brought us a wheelbarrow of firewood and readied the fireplace with a nicely built stack. The furnishings and decor were very comfortable, the WiFi was all set up, and we cozied in for a snowy night with a fire and a movie. We will definitely be in touch soon to set up our next visit to Paddlers Retreat! Thanks for a great trip!

Birthday chalet
From the moment I saw the Christmas tree by the beautiful stone fireplace I was in awe! It was even more than my husband and I had anticipated! Beautifully decorated with rustic beams exposed and the features throughout the chalet were quite impressive with cast iron hooks and perfectly designed furniture just for which it was placed. We enjoyed gazing at the river and listening to the water rush by and the train was delightful as well. Robin and Dan were very friendly and helpful, wonderful host’s! We celebrated my birthday here at the chalet and it was the best one yet! We would love to return to see the different seasons!

Cozy place for a small family
It was a cozy place for a weekend getaway. It was about 30 minutes from Fallingwater and about 20 from Ohiopyle. We didn’t realize there was a house right beside us so we didn’t have much privacy if you want to be outside. We kept the blinds drawn the whole time. It is definitely out of the way so if you want a getaway this is the place. It was nice having the water right beside the house to walk down to it. My daughter enjoyed the train tracks that was right across the street and seeing the trains go by. Luckily after about midnight the trains don’t come by til morning so it doesn’t keep you up all night. The owners were nice and were available if we needed anything.

The chalet is so cozy! The fireplace is great. The location is perfect for visiting Ohiopyle or Confluence or Fallingwater etc. And the property itself is very beautiful (we arrived to 4 inches of new snow)! Would love to come back in the summer or fall.

Great Mouth Getaway!
Beautiful chalet! My husband and I stayed with another couple, and this home had plenty of space for all of us and more. Stocked with everything we needed and decorated with many special touches to add such a warm and inviting atmosphere to a mountain getaway. Beautiful wooded area on the the river, and we were lucky enough to have falling snow. Skied two days at different resorts and so convenient. It was easy to book and everyone was so friendly to us when we arrived and departed. Thank you! We plan on coming back in the summer.

A beautiful ambience, great hosts, perfect for our group of 3.
We came to celebrate a birthday--three friends who love hiking and just wanted some down time to hang out. Dan and Robin were wonderful hosts, checking in on us the first night to make sure we had everything we needed. The chalet is cozy, surrounded by trees and situated between a river and some train tracks. When the door or windows were propped, you could hear the river. You can also hear the train when it goes by, but it's not loud and in fact we LOVED it. We spent hours by the fire each night, reveling in the beauty and down time. During the days, we hiked in Ohiopyle...despite the heavy snowfall, the temperature was above 30 and made for a perfect hike. Before leaving, we purchased some beautiful pottery from Robin and Dan's shop...overall, it was just what we wanted. We were three women, 2 of us mommies in deep need of sleep, and we realized once arriving that we each wanted a room to ourselves (rather than one sleeping on the couch or the loft overlook, which requires a climb up a ladder and could be cumbersome if you needed to use the restroom in the dark night). Robin graciously opened the downstairs area for us at the last minute and it was perfect: an entire additional bedroom (plus, if you needed them, 2 more beds and a kitchen/bathroom). Highly recommended!

Our own Polar Express holiday get away!
What a perfect setting for a Christmas away from home! The house was everything we hoped for and then some. The owners are so gracious and kind; there is nothing they didn't think of including providing us a Christmas tree so our family holiday felt truly festive. The icing on the cake was the train that runs by the house. It's not loud and cumbersome; it's magical and makes you feel like you've taken a step back in time. The train actually stopped in front of the house on Christmas Eve with all its glorious sounds - we were already in pj's so we felt like it was the Polar Express picking us up to take us on a hot chocolate drinking train ride to the North Pole! Should we ever need to be in SW PA again Paddler's Lane will always be my home away from home.
