Had good and bad experience.
Not the same as it looked online., especially bathrooms n kitchen. Wi-Fi was terrible and worst in our last 10 years of cabin stay. Had power cut and without signal/Wi-Fi we were scared to hell. Very old property for the price and that too during the off season. Good things - Dining area was nice and living room. Outside spacious on all four sides.

Left the place extremely dirty. They did not respect the property. I would not rent to them again.

Wonderful family get together!
We enjoyed our get together so much. So many things for us to do and all the kids. House is charming. Has plenty of beds, seating and dining. Beautiful property, serene and calming. Would visit again!

Comfortable
We were very comfortable and had lots of privacy. The eating area and livingroom gave us plenty of room to get together. The 2 ovens and 2 refrigerators were convenient for making meals and storing beverages. This is our second time staying here.

Family Birthday Party
We needed a house for 18 family members from New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan and the Carolinas. This location was perfect. The house and grounds are spacious and clean. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen had all we needed for our cooks. It is a lovely old house which needs and gets loving care.

10-4 Good Buddy Weekend
Our crew loved staying @ The Woodcrest Inn for our annual 10-4 Good Buddy weekend. The house and accommodations were spot on and we really enjoyed the pool & hot tub, pool table, porch and just getting lost in the house maze—so much space!!

Retreat weekend
Loved the property! The pool was perfect temperature and loved the hot tub also. Nice sized stocked kitchen. Sat 14 in the dining room easily and also in the screened porch and living room. Bedrooms were beautiful and clean. Host was very generous and let us check in early and check out an hour later. Minutes away from New River Gorge Bridge. Great place for group bonding! Had a lovely weekend!

Awesome house!
My family of ten stayed at this home for our yearly vacation. The house is amazing. It took me a long time to find the upstairs! The rooms are huge, the beds we used were great, and the kitchen was well stocked. We would've loved to have known the history of the house and what era the additions were added. There is a knob on one of the gas stoves that leaked gas in the house when the knob was in the "off" position. I saw that a couple knobs were on "lite". I thought maybe my granddaughter had messed with them, so i put them both in the "off" position. After all of us being outside for awhile, we had to open the front and back doors to air out the house. We alerted Shane to the issue, and just didn't touch that knob again after we figured out where the gas was coming from.

Family Vacay2023
This was our second stay at this property and we loved it. Our family of 15, from 4-72, found plenty of activities as well as leisurely chats. We even arranged a photographer. Only concern was a wasp infestation in one bedroom, as my s on is allergic.

Our extended family gets together at thanksgiving since the passing of our parents. This house was perfect for our needs and we loved it’s charm and character. It was well-stocked and very clean.

Bridge Day Family Reunion 2022
Every year my family comes to WV for Bridge Day weekend. Over the years our family has grown, so we needed a place big enough where we could put kids and tired adults to bed and allow the night owls to stay up and have fun. This place was FANTASTIC for this. There are enough bedrooms so everyone is comfortable. There is enough room outdoors and indoors. We didn't even miss the pool, but really enjoyed the firepit. This will be our WV HOUSE when the whole family comes in again.

Exactly what we needed
This house made it possible for 18 adults to stay together while in the Fayetteville area before our rafting trip. Everything worked in the house as it should. Plenty of space inside and out. Would definitely rent again.

Very nice for a large family gathering
This site appeared as advertised. The house is well stocked for a number of people. There is plenty of room, the pool was a big hit and we used the firepit when not raining. We did have a lot of rain and one power outage from a storm. The owner responded with current information to our questions regarding the power coming back on so we just waited and eventually all was good.

Responsiveness of Shane
We arrived after a storm and the electricity was out as Shane had told us. He connected up a generator so the refrigerator would run for us. Also, distributed flashlights. As for the house itself -- it has 8 bedrooms with very comfortable beds, most with tv's, nice size living room with a tv, wonderful dining room with a bar, lovely screened in front porch (where we spent most of our time). We enjoyed just bonding the first night. Electricity came on the second day of vacation. The location is perfect if you enjoy doing outdoor activities. We rode ATV's and did white water rafting. We enjoyed hiking the trails and visiting antique stores. We also had down time in the pool, utilizing the fire pit, playing basketball, and playing pool. What we enjoyed most was family time playing games we had brought each evening. The property is lovely and peaceful. The house could use some loving up, but it worked for us!! We are a large family and just wanted some family time this home was perfect for us!! Thank you Shane!!!

Country Charm near National Park
We had 14 people and the house was the perfect size for us. It's an old house, but very clean. The yard is beautiful and it's very private. If you're coming from the north, google maps may try to send you across a bridge that's locked. Just keep going and your map will readjust.

Love the seclusion
Start with the good. Plenty of room for everyone. We had 8 adults and 7 kids. The double stove and 3 sets of washer and dryer was a huge plus. We didn’t need the washer/dryer but would have if we would have stayed longer. Nice to know it was there. Double hot water tanks. Extra fridge on the back porch. Wi-Fi and tv I believe in most bedrooms. Lots of bathrooms. Very large rooms. No cell service. The bad. A lot of stuff didn’t work. Most of it was like lights burned out, little things so it didn’t matter. Fridge leaked water. Every day we had to get up and set out dry towels to keep the kitchen floor dry. Between the 2 stoves (10 burners) only 5 worked. But both ovens did work. The Wi-Fi was only good in the living room next to the router. None of the arcade games worked. The one was even pushed out of the way when advertised it was available. The hot tub kept tripping the breaker. So really not that much was wrong. If your that picky maybe find another place. I would go back here. The seclusion and lack of cell service I really enjoyed. The old home and a lot of old features everyone liked. The neighbors dog kept showing up. He’s really friendly and just wants to play and have a few snacks. The kids enjoyed his company.

The home was large and comfortable. Lovely countryside. Would caution those with low-riding cars to be careful on the driveway due to washed out areas. Bottom line, we had a lovely time.

Excellent spot!
My family of 8 spent a week in August here to go white water rafting. The house was dubbed “granny’s house” by my kids. The farm house has lots of space and nooks and crannies giving it a wonderful old fashioned vibe. Outdoors at the pool and fire pit was a great way to have alternative things for everyone to do. All raved about the comfortable beds.! And the kitchen was actually stocked to cook for large groups - unlike some others I have stayed at- We will definitely come back.

Lots of space for a big family
The large old former bed and breakfast with great opportunities for hide and seek and all sorts of family gathering spaces. Favorites were the screened in porch during thunderstorms, noticing all the surrounding animals in their pastures, the fire pit conversation evenings, and of course the pool- complete with volleyball. Loved the double appliances for our 18 person crew. Add a white water rafting trip and several hikes- a pretty wonderful place to create family memories.

Spacious, homey, and close to New River Gorge activities
This property more than accommodated our big family reunion. Even with multiple families staying in one space, it did not feel crowded. With lots of outdoor space AND indoor common space that is bigger than we imagined, we could spread out or be close, as we chose. The kitchen was well-equipped. The pool was fun. The high fence with a secure gate latch that required two coordinated hands to open gave us peace of mind for child safety. The owner was quick to respond and good to work with. We converged from across the U.S. and loved our stay.

Family vacay
This rental is greatly underrated! The house is so full of charm and character, we could have spent the entire time exploring or in the pool and hot tub. But then we would have missed out on all the great Ave Adventures. When I got lost finding the house, Shane drove out and rescued me. We had poor cell service, so he drove out in person to deliver a message from family at home. I forgot a precious family heirloom so Shane offered to secure and ship it to me. We rent places every year, and all agree--Woodcrest Inn rocks!

Had a wonderful time in a wonderful house
My wife and I invited our families for a short vacation to the Fayetteville area, and we rented this place for them to stay at. There was plenty of space for everyone, the kitchen and bedrooms were furnished with everything necessary, and everyone loved the house itself. Even the bedrooms were larger than the pictures and floor plans let on. The property that it sits on, in the middle of a farm, was a highlight for many of our guests as well. I highly recommended it for anyone needing a house for several couples or a large group of friends. The only thing I'd ask for the host to improve are the instructions for checking out. We cleaned up of course and locked the doors, but there were no instructions for what to do with bed linens or if it was okay to leave a loaded dishwasher.

Coming Home
My family moved to Texas in 1980. We all came back this summer for a family vacation. 5 families. This was the perfect location with a beautiful old farm house. The older kids loved the pool and the younger kids loved to run and play while the adults loved the fire pit. Lots to do in Fayetteville. Hiking, fishing, picnicking, and swimming. We will definitely come back.

Great House for Large Groups
Very large, well equipped home. Had everything our group of 6 over 60’s needed for our hiking trip stay. Only downside was a nuisance Airedale that wandered over and bugged us to pay attention to him. When we ignored him he parked himself for a nap in front of the door on the porch and made if difficult to get in and out. Followed folks around while trying to grill. Other than that it was a great stay. We would book this house again.

New Year's gathering 2020/2021
Great place to gather as a family (17), yet have room to find moments of (almost) solitude, for reading and relaxation. We spent 3 great days of family exchange while exercising best possible procedures for safety from COVID protocol. Most had successfully tested before arriving, so the time was safe. Since then, the first responders in the group tested again and were again negative. The place allowed for this. Thank you Shane for your responses on issues when we were there. I recommend Shane and this place wholeheartedly. Great start for a greater year!

Great place for family time
The house provided us with lots of space for our group to spread out and use. The beds were comfortable, sheets and towels were nice and clean. We had everything that we needed. This house is perfect for groups with elementary age kids and above.

Mini family vacation during Covid 19
This was the perfect location for our families to meet up and enjoy a long weekend together . This home had plenty of room(inside and out) for the grandchildren(ages 3 & 5) to run around and for the 2mos. old to sleep in quiet. Between the pool, hot tub, fire pit, the large deck (with corn hole), and the games found indoors, all were entertained. The kitchen was well equipped which made it easier to prepare meals. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. Being nestled in the country, this must have been the season for stink-bugs, as there were quite a few through out the home. Though they are a nuisance, they didn't ruin the fun had by all. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We would love to visit again. Though close enough to downtown and other sites, we found it to be a terrific location for rest and relaxation!

Relaxing farmhouse
This place is huge! Our group had plenty of room to socialize as well as privacy. The heated pool and hot tub was amazing too. This property literally had everything there for us already.... condiments, towels, linens, for hole boards, games, and the list could go on.. We will definitely be back!

Great for large groups
We had three families in our group. Everyone had plenty of space during our visit. All 8 bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The house had everything we needed. The pool and hot tub were a nice added bonus. The kids enjoy the donkey farm next door too.

Feyetteville Weekend Ski Trip
Had a great time in this home for a few nights while spending the days on the slopes at winterplace. This house is quite big and has plenty of forms of entertainment (pool, hot tub, fire pit, grill, pool table, etc). It is about a 45 minute drive to winterplace which we didn't find to be very bad at all! only hesitancy is there wasn't much of any cellular reception and we couldn't get the wifi to work. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had. Overall, a great experience!
