indimenticabile
Siamo stati molto bene. Dalla torre si può ammirare un panorama unico di Firenze e invoglia a rimanere in casa a goderselo. C'è tanto spazio così che ognuno ritrova il suo posto preferito. la piazza dove affaccia la torre è molto suggestiva. Anche le scale non sono male, molto tonificanti :-)

Excellent place for younger people
This amazing place is on the fourth floor of a very beautiful and old building. There is no elevator in the building. There are 87 steps to get to the front door of the unit and the unit is three stories on the inside with 40 steps to get to the living room. So all and all you'd need to go up 127 steps to get to the living room with amazing views of Florence. The views are amazing, location is great, unit is clean, the only concern are the steps.

Excellent!!!
Absolutely great location! There are a lot of steps - but the listing is clear on that… worth the view and plenty of space to spread out! Clean and in a fantastic neighborhood. Walked the entire city. Check-in was odd - but I think it was in part because they weren’t getting my texts. Just be sure to be in touch early and often. They are very close by to give you keys and check you in. Great sport. Would recommend!

Beautiful views, wonderful location
Yes, the stairs are challenging- especially during check in and check out, but we loved being so close to everything. It can get a bit noisy in the late night, wee hours but we enjoyed the positives! The only criticism is that the address was difficult to find- our maps took us to the wrong location and it was frustrating trying to find the building. Overall, it was a great experience!!

If not for the view, one star
The views of this property are incredible, truly an opportunity to sit back and take in Florence. Unfortunately, there were a lot of issues with the property management. The girl that helped us check in met us at the door downstairs. She looked at us and just said “there’s a lot of stairs” and she ran off without even offering to help. She was short and seemed like she was in a hurry. She charged us a late fee even though we weren’t notified we’d be charged extra for getting there later. The blanket in the main bedroom had blood and makeup on it. The kitchen wasn’t cleaned thoroughly so we had to clean the glasses and everything. The toilet had urine upon arrival. We had to ask for extra toilet paper, paper towels, blankets and a few other items but we only got the toilet paper, extra sheets even though we asked for a blanket, and a dish towel. We messaged the owner but didn’t get a response to all of our questions. We asked maybe 5-7 questions and only got a yes. We also reached out to Vrbo customer service but they weren’t much help either. Overall disappointing and we won’t be using Vrbo again due to this experience.

Yes, 90+ steps. But spectacular views!!
Torre Donati was a magical place to make home base for touring around Florence for a few days. Heating was great for December. Had a brief electrical outage one day and host was great about communications & getting it fixed ASAP. Would definitely stay again. Views from the penthouse living room were fabulous day + night.

Florence review
Although we. Loved our first stay in Florence, the checkin process was not easy. We waited for admin for over 45 minutes to arrive. When they did, they gave us the wrong address. The property does have a lot of steps but the views are amazing! The property did not have enough towels or sheets for the pullout sofa. When we arrived, the Wi-Fi and heat were not working. They did have someone out quickly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It would def help if the property had more kitchen and bath essentials. They did not have dish soap or even salt and pepper.

Gorgeous Torre Donati Apartment
Absolutely amazing place to stay! Plan to spend a part of each evening in the loft, as the sunsets over the city are spectacular…. Kitchen is well-stocked with dishware but bring your own kitchen soap, seasonings, etc, if you plan to cook/clean (we only did breakfast in the apartment, with meats, cheeses, and produce from the market at the base of the apartment stairs)). LOCATION is wonderful: we walked (with our roller bags) from the train station (about 20 min walk), past the Baptistry and the Duomo to get to the apartment. There are lots of steps to get to this apartment, but every one of them is worth it!

Wonderful Stay
We loved our stay here! Because of all the prior reviews, we knew what to expect with the stairs, and we managed just fine. There are a lot of them! The views from the upper floor, and even the main floor, are amazing and worth the extra effort! There were 5 of us, aged 45-74, and all made it up and down fine several times per day. I would recommend against staying if you have trouble navigating stairs, as some are narrow and uneven depth, particularly inside the apartment. Very centrally located and easy to walk around the city. Neighborhood is lively throughout the night so one of our group wore ear plugs to bed to help with the sound. But everyone else did fine. Beds were comfortable with no issues - could have used one more blanket, but it was ok. Property manager and maintenance were very responsive to all of our questions and check-in was easy. Would stay here again!

3 Nights in Florence
The many stairs are well worth the views from the top floors. The apartment and baths were very clean and sheets and towels were good quality. Location is convenient for all walking access around the city. Our only negative was the local contact, Shivam, who was late for the check-in and ignored requests to replace several lightbulbs that were not working. The apartment is in a pedestrian only zone so you will need to walk a short distance to access it from taxi or bus drop off.

El apartamento está muy bien ubicado en el centro de Florencia, es una casa torre rehabilitada con gusto pero no es cómoda para el verano, hace muchísimo calor. La estancia superior, la principal, no la pudimos utilizar porque era un horno y no hay aire acondicionado. En el resto de la casa el aire acondicionado tampoco es suficiente, sobre todo en uno de los dormitorios. Hay muchos escalones para acceder al apartamento, aproximadamente un tercero sin ascensor, y dentro del apartamiento también y el equipamiento de la cocina es escaso, no hay sartenes en condiciones, por ejemplo. Por la noche se oyen los ruidos de los bares que hay en la puerta. En cambio la habitaciones son muy amplias y los cuartos de baño están muy bien. Para el verano no es bueno.

Amazing View
The best part of this property is the view from the top floor! Amazing 180 degree+ view of the city. Overall the place is in a great location, is spacious, and great for a family - with some small things to take note of. There are approximately 90 stairs to get to the apartment's entrance so if you have a lot of heavy bags be aware! Also, below and outside of the master bedroom window is an Irish pub which during our stay was partying loudly well into the early morning hours. In spite of those two minor inconveniences, we'd definitely stay there again.

Yes, I read the description and reviews that clearly state there are stairs, but to be clear, it’s 132 stairs from street to top level of the unit, all of which are very narrow and winding and uneven and not air conditioned. After 92 stairs, you enter living quarters. The street below is lively and the windows muffle but do not block the noise, so be prepared to hear parties and music and cars until 3-4 am. The AC units are inadequate for the size of the house (and July 2023 heat wave) making the top floor unusable space( presumably the main reason you’d stay here). It was over 100 degrees there. The “2nd floor” bedroom is 25 additional stairs once in the living quarters and never cooled below estimated 90 degrees F during our stay. Couch in the living room was not usable due to staining and no sheets. The stairs inside the unit are circular and tight making luggage transport even more of an issue than the first 90 stairs. The water pressure and temperature are very good, however the taste is off. The king size bed is two twins stuck together and they slide on the floor. Five of us were supposed to stay here 2 days. Three never stayed after the first glance. Two others stayed one night but couldn’t tolerate the heat and noise and overall grime and left early. We lost several hundred euro, but there was no choice. Shivam (not the host, but the check-in person?) was polite and was able to accommodate an early check-in and arrived to turn over the keys and show us around.

Neighborhood and View are Amazing
This property is very unique —it is in a tower and the view of Florence from the top floor is spectacular. Yes, there are a lot of steps up to the unit but if you are moderately healthy the steps are fine. Communication with the host was very good and check in was seamless. The unit itself has most of the basics you need but the bedding provided is lacking. The beds are made up with a fitted sheet and one top sheet. There were two additional random blankets stored —my daughter used the comfy comforter and I used the old, thin blanket one night. Unfortunately, after using that blanket I woke up with bites on my face and neck. So, it would be beneficial to update the place with a new, comfortable blanket for each bed in case guests prefer to sleep with more than a top sheet. The power in just our unit went out twice but we were told where the box was to flip the switch which did bring it back on. The place is in the middle of a lively square which is great but it is very loud until about 2am—so if you are going to sleep you may want to put on white noise. Overall, the location and view and space is great but adding fresh, clean bedding would be hugely beneficial.

This apartment is on the 4th floor (which is really the 5th floor). However, once you get to the apartment, the second bedroom and the living area are up more flights via circular staircase. It was not terrible, but the only air conditioners that worked well were the ones in the main bedroom and kitchen areas. The second bedroom and living room units did not work well at all. Luckily, there was a breeze and everyone was able to get a decent night's sleep. My only negative comment is that the floors could have been cleaner.

Great location but lots of stairs.
Property was in a great location but is outdated and needs to be updated. Beds were very uncomfortable with very old mattresses and there are no TV or WIFI Internet services unless standing in the kitchen Plus nine flights of stairs. Would not recommend to anyone not ready or able to climb many flights up and down.... Not terrible but not great either.

Perfect Location with some exercise
The property is great as are the views. The only drawback were the stairs, lots of stairs. So if you are not comfortable with stairs this place is not for you, otherwise we recommend it highly.

Great Location
The only negative is the noise at night. Even with the windows closed, we could hear the people partying 'till 1 or 2 am. Pretty quiet after that. The place has history and charm that makes it worth it.

Location and view make up for rest
When considering this apartment, please keep in mind that it has no elevator and although it states that it’s on the 4th floor, that is far from the case. This is a very old tower, the ceilings are very high, the staircases are narrow and plentiful and you end up climbing 6 flights of stairs. By the time you reach the front door, you are huffing and puffing. We did have a subtle leak coming from under the toilet in one of the bathrooms so be cautious. This place is not well suited for families with small children but would be lovely to younger groups and couples. Very centric with tons of dining options right at the entryway. The building has few tenants and was very secure. I will mention that some of the beds have bed bugs. I informed the manager and was told that none of the prior guests had complained but if he would have seen my daughter’s face and my back and legs, which were COVERED in bites, he might have agreed. I didn’t feel like arguing so we left and found accommodations elsewhere. I would not rebook but I would definitely recommend it for the right travelers based on location and the OUTSTANDING view from the top floor alone. It’s stunning!

Incredible Property
We loved our stay here. Very well located and such a special place. The stairs were not bad and we enjoyed being able to see all of Florence from all of the windows. It didn’t bother us too much but the square is very lively all night and noisy from the main bedroom.

Great view, great location, lots of stairs
This place is great for many reasons. The 300 degree view of the city is what sells this place on the upper level. I say upper level because their is 90 stairs to the front door and another 40 stairs to the top level of the apartment for the living room view! It was good for our active family of 5. Great location, cute neighborhood. I give it overall 4 stars for the steps and … The room with twin beds seems to have bed bugs. All three of my kids woke up with bites in their bodies. Less so when they chose to sleep on the couches. Our kings size bedroom didn’t have a problem. I did tell the owner of this after we left. We were surprised that their weren’t any kitchen cleaners for the counters, no dish soap for bigger pots and pans, no kitchen towels. The kids room didn’t have a working overhead light. The pillows were old, flat and lumpy. We requested kitchen supplies and pillows but they said we could buy our own. Not overall impressed with this response since we were staying 5 nights. And they only have one set of keys so it was difficult to leave in separate groups for separate activities. But overall the view was great and worth staying here.

Stairs, but the View!
This stay was great. Once you get past the 7 flights of stairs (and catch your breath) … the apartment is worth the effort. Kitchen was clean and had all we needed, bedrooms were spacious, and the top floor is everything. The spiral staircase between the 3 levels (Kitchen/Bedroom/Top Floor) is tight but just adds to the character of the place. We loved the location, plenty of places to eat, and easy walk to see all we wanted. The city is beautiful and this apartment topped it all off. If you’re ok with climbing stairs, and don’t have little ones, this apartment is worth a look.

Stairs to Heaven
This property has all the charm you would expect of an little Italian villetta. The views are stunning and worth every step that you take to get to the tower. Please note, there are a LOT of stairs and the stairs to the top floor are narrow. If you or your family has any type of mobility challenge, this is not the place for you. However, if you are willing to brave the stairs, then I would suggest to take your coffee to the top floor living room one morning and watch the sun rise. It is amazing. The location is right in Piazza di Pier Maggiore, which has great restaurants and an English Pub. Communication with the team was great! All in all it was a wonderful stay.

Just Phenomenal
A wonderful, historic property perfectly situated over a small square with 180 degree views over the entire Florence skyline. Steps away from fabulous restaurants and bars. Try to take in the sunset from the top floor, leave the windows open and take it all in - breathtaking. The only caveat is that it is a tall tower with many floors of steps and there is no lift. Those with large suitcases or older, less mobile guests may find this challenging. Overall, just a wondrous property.

Beautiful view with lots of stairs
The apartment is beautiful and our kids LOVED the spiral staircase (the felt like a secret prince and princess). Despite the piazza being right outside the window, it is quiet at night. We loved the location (we walked everywhere we wanted to go). Just be ready to climb a LOT of stairs to get into the apartment and then even more to get to the top of the tower. Thanks for a lovely stay!
